Now in Koslov, King Miroslav had demands that seemed reasonable and yet at the same time, they seemed uncalled for. The king coming to a little pack with his best warriors was never a good sign. It was even worse than the king showing up in the pack itself. He wasn’t here for pleasantries and Miroslav had made sure that was evident even as he watched the alpha before them. He didn’t have the time to play nice, because right now, he had a missing queen, one who was last seen with Drescher. A missing queen who could be the trigger for the greatest of all wars, and the Lycan king wouldn’t hold back, not at anyone’s request this time.
“Your Highness, to what do we owe the visit?” Alpha Rykar asked pretending like he didn’t hear the Lycan king make impossible demands. It was insane and uncalled for, which was also how dangerous it was for the wolves of Koslov. There was a choice hanging in the air, yet that very choice would determine so many things.
“Drescher, where is he?” King Miroslav asked again, this time, his eyes scanned the little pack. He hoped to find a whiff of his mate’s lavender scent. He was a desperate king, one who would do whatever it took to make sure his queen was home. He didn’t care what the world would say for this, what mattered to him was the woman he loved coming home to him, with him and for him. Everything else could wait.
“He left for Moscow. He took some personal time. I suppose he will be back in two weeks, like he usually does,” Alpha Rykar said, wondering what his best friend had done this time.
Beta Drescher had been acting very strangely in the past few weeks and Rykar hadn’t put much thought into it, given the man was always acting up ever since she rejected his mate and she accepted the rejection. Maybe it was because Ralphine had accepted the king, but whatever reason there was, it wasn’t good enough for the wolf to try and go after that which the Lycan king had claimed. It was a death wish and he would earn that very soon.
“Is there a problem, your highness?” Alpha Rykar asked, clearly worried about triggering a war with the most barbaric of creatures. It would never end well for his people and he knew that too, so the sooner he tried to prevent a war, the sooner everything would go back to normal.
“If he comes back, tell him I need to talk with him. We will be taking our leave,” the Lycan king said, much to the shock of the warriors he had come with, which got Alpha Rykar thinking that they hadn’t come here for peace. The warriors were armed to the teeth and even if they hadn’t been, the wolves wouldn’t have stood a chance against the four of them. It was not possible because these were the best of the best Lycan warriors and as they stood in Koslow, they were motivated by anger and a desire for vengeance and murder.
“Sire?” Heion spoke and his best friend looked at him with a dead face, like he was telling the man that this wasn’t the time or the palace for the questions. So Heion just nodded in understanding and started silent, even as Miroslav turned to leave. They all had questions but perhaps listening to the king would be best for them at the moment.
As the Lycans saddled out of Koslov alpha Rykar turned to look at his wolves, a race that had been scared shitless when they saw the Lycan king. They could tell that this battle wasn’t over onwhatever the hell the King had come for wasn’t the end. If Drescher had triggered a war, Rykar needed to know, so he would be ready, because otherwise, their entire pack was doomed. It would be child’s play for the Lycans if ever there was an attack.
“Where the fuck is Drescher Rykar asked his warriors once theycans had left. He needed to be sure about his friend’s whereabouts because the matter was getting out of hand.
Of course, Rykar had assumed that Drescher had left for Moscow, but from the shocked looks of his wolves earlier. especially when he told the Lycan king that his best friend was in Moscow, even though he wasn’t sure. Alpha Rykar could tell that the beta was somewhere in the kingdom. It was one thing to mess around, but it was another to go after the Lycan queen of all the people.
That was suicide.
In the old house at the southern borders, Alpha, one of the warriors said and Alpha Rykar instantly shifted into his wolf, before running towards his best friend. He needed to figure out what was going on before the Lycan king did, because if he didn’t, then they would be doomed. There was no way out of the and it wouldn’t take long for the Lycans to storm their pack sooner or later.

The run to the cabin that Drescher was at, wasn’t long, because barely took the alpha five minutes. He was a panting mess when he got
there and shifted back into his human form. It was a good thing that he always shifted with his clothes on, so it was easier for him to interact with people, even after an immediate shift into his beautiful huge black wolf. It was tradition.
“I can smell you in there, Drescher. Open up!!” Alpha Rykar shouted as he banged the cabin door. It was a beautiful wooden cabin and was spacious enough to host at least seven people at the same time. The wooden cabin was well furnished and used to be an escape for both best friends. It was their safe space and if Drescher came to this place, then he had to have done something that could get them in trouble.
He was impatient and understandably so, because the devil had come knowing their door and soon enough, death would be following. He didn’t want to lose his warriors to mistakes that could be fixed. He had to find a way out of this.
“Go away, Rykar. I don’t want to talk to anyone,” Drescher shouted back and Rykar just snorted in disbelief at his friend’s response. Maybe Drescher didn’t understand the magnitude of the mess, right? His friend wasn’t being serious, was he? There was a brewing hell and he was throwing tantrums when they were possibly in trouble because of him? Oh, but he had some nerve assigned like this with all the chaos brewing outside Maybe he needed a little nudge, right?
“Is that why the cyan king is threatening our wolves right now? Is that why I’m so close to losing wolves? Boy, you better open this door or I’ll break it down. I will count to three and if you don’t open by three, I will break it down and orde 1 burned. Don’t try me, Drescher,” Rykar said, getting impatient. He wanted to understand his friend. He really wanted to, but Drescher was doing things on a whim and putting them in danger. It wasn’t fair and they needed to fix it all
The alpha’s count didn’t hesitate. The situation didn’t call for softer conversations and they needed to deal with this sooner. So, when he counted to tow and Drescher didn’t open the door, the alpha banged the door for a third time, before he readied himself for a throw against the door, wondering what would certainly bring it down, given how heavy Rykar was. It was a long challenge but then it was accepted, tight?
Jeez, fine. It’s open alright?” Drescher said when he heard his friend go silent. He pulled the door open, and Rykar rushed into the room, like he was looking for something or even someone at best. The alpha went into all the rooms in the little cabin but he got nothing. Instead, he was met with emptiness, like he had nothing to hide, and that made him even more suspicious. He didn’t have to come to this place today, but he had come, so what the hell was Drescher up to?
“Where is she?” Rykar asked as he kept on looking around. He needed to be sure that his friend hadn’t made a stupid “decision that could cost them the peace treaty with the Lycans or even the safety that the barbarians guaranteed them against other packs. It was something that Alpha Rykar couldn’t risk losing, hell, Koslov couldn’t afford to lose that treaty, because if they did then they were fucked in all the seven ways to doomsday.
“Where is who? And why do you think that barbarian coming to our home has anything to do with me?” Drescher asked feigning innocence,
He knew so well why the mighty Lycan king had come to Koslow himself, and if his best friend listened a little keenly, he would hear Ralphine banging against the basement, hoping for someone to come for her and save her. It was pointless though because Drescher had decided that Ralphine was worth all the craziest risks out there. Maybe he was losing his mind, but then it wasn’t like there was the easiest way out of this, or was there?
“Ralphine Belyaeva, the Lycan queen. Where is she?” Alpha Rykar asked
Drescher looked at his friend with a shocked face, like the man had lost his mind. That right there was a dangerous accusation and while Drescher was guilty on all accounts that could arise from that statement, he wouldn’t let Rykar talk him out of this. He wouldn’t let the alpha know that he was holding aycan in their cabin their safe place. Funny how their safe place was someone else’s constant nightmare. Perhaps there was just no way that they would be alright with this, yeah?
“You’re joking, right?” Drescher asked once he figured that the more silent he was, the more his best friend would be suspicious and he didn’t want to have Rykar snooping around, wouldn’t be good for him and the plan he had started acting on, sure it wasn’t going to be easy, but then nothing had ever been the same for him since Ralphine had made a run from Koslov, that fateful night. He understood her, but he wished she could have stayed. Maybe he was selfish, but he was starting to like the silent girl outcast by a pack that should have protected her.
Drescher had felt like shit for rejecting her and even ordering the whipping. He was haunted by her muted cries and wanted to apologize to her, he wanted to make sure that she knew he was sorry, but the chance never came. She had already

disappeared and she had been betrothed to someone better than him, another powerful creature, a king to be exact and Drescher couldn’t match that even if he wanted to. Miroslav Ibrahimovic was not just anyone. The rumors had fucked Drescher up and filled him with endless regret.
When Ralphine’s parents were burned at the stake, Drescher took it upon himself to clean the Belyaeva house and lock it up safely. Of course, he had also collected their ashes and put them in one vase like that was supposed to jeep the Belyaevas together despite the chaos in the world they lived in. It had been a long shot, but it was something that kept Drescher sane. All he wanted was to ask for forgiveness and tell Ralphine that she was never going to be alone, but then she had been mated to another, a little too fast than he had anticipated. Drescher never liked that, so he chose to kidnap the woman, but would it really be worth it for him in the end?
“You know what I mean. Drescher. He came for her. Where is she?”
