Chapter 39
Drescher was screwed, and he knew that.
“Damn, I didn’t know this little cabin could fit fifty people. I should have a party over, right? Hold on, are you even fifty or you’re just making me see things?” Drescher said casually once he was done counting the people in the room, as he walked over to where the owner of the voice was.
It was a tense situation, one that would undoubtedly end with him dead, given the count of people who didn’t look happiest with him. They looked like they could crush his bones and turn them into dust then throw them against the wind just to make sure there was nothing left of Drescher Volkow. Anyone in his state could have made a run for it, given how bloodied. everything and everyone here was but then he didn’t bother. If anything, it was like he had accepted his fate and was letting the universe do its thing.
“Where is she?” Kara asked as she looked at Drescher who was a little too calm. The high guards were tempted to go and check his cabin for signs of their queen but the King was holding them back. If anything, the King was the one who had told them to stay silent, calm and wait it out. They had planned to ruin this place and tear it down just to find her.
They were seeing a new side of the Lycan King and frankly, this version of the King scared them more than the version of the King that they had gotten used to. They knew a violent King yet the one before them was soft, if anything a little too calm for someone who had been tearing through the wolves like it was breakfast hour. The King was crazed, but it was different each time he was around Ralphine. Perhaps that was why he was calm. His friends and the high guards were finding it a little too new, this version of him that they knew nothing of.
“Are you the one who’s going to kill me?” Drescher asked as he downed the water in the glass and turned to look at the Lycan King. There was something in the King’s eyes, something that Drescher had never seen before.
Granted, he wasn’t close enough with the King to know when his mood changed and shit, but looking at Miroslav in that moment, Drescher knew he was more than just fucked. He had hoped the King would probably kill him and get it over with, but then that wasn’t the case. Maybe that was the first thing that scared the Koslov beta, because he simply pointed to the basement, and Heion and Viktor went for their queen.
Your Highness,” Heion said when he showed up with a tired Ralphine and a bruised queen. He looked like he wanted to take Drescher’s head off and honestly, they all had the right to. But then they couldn’t, not when the King hadn’t commanded it.
“Your Highness,” the queen’s high guards bowed to her, before they left the cabin, followed by Heion, Viktor, and Kara. They knew there was more for their King to decide, and they didn’t need to be a part of it. However, their rage was evident, as they walked out of the house on low warning grumbles. They were promising Drescher something, but then he had seen the same promise in the King’s eyes.
“Your Majesty,” Miroslav whispered as he looked at his Erasthai standing a few meters away from him, her hands bruised and
his queen looked relieved. bearing dark marks. She looked worried and scared for some reason and yet at the same time, The Lycan King wanted to choose and focus on her relief, but he wasn’t certain that she was relieved to see him or relieved that he had finally come for her, a week later. It was a realization that was bothering the King and it got him rooted to the

“I didn’t hurt her. She did that to herself, Drescher voiced, even bough his voice was fading into the background, as the two mates stared at each other, their eyes holding on so much that couldn’t be expressed in one sitting.
The King was worried about his erasthai. He was worried about her fragile state. He was worried she was not well. He was worried she didn’t want him again. He was worried she would show Drescher. He was worried that she would leave without him. He was worried she would hate him for all that had happened there. So, he made just one step in her direction, and stopped
He couldn’t move. He couldn’t, not when her eyes had suddenly become so empty, and there was nothing in there. Not even spite for everything that happened to her. The King was confused and he hoped that someone, anyone could explain what the hell had happened to her, But in this, he was alone.
I’m sorry, the King whispered softly and defeatedly, as his eyes held Ralph’s in an unspoken pain. He had failed her, maybe

that was what he thought.

“What?” Drescher asked when he heard the great Miroslav Ibrahimovich let out an apology. This man was never sorry about anything, and not to anyone. He was known for his brutality and inability to apologize even when he was in the wrong and yet where he was, in front of Drescher, apologizing to the very girl that Drescher had thought meant nothing to the King And that was when it really clicked to Drescher just how fucked
“No, Drescher, I won’t be the one to kill you. Her Majesty will determine what to do with you,” the King said and Drescher let out a gasp of shock, when Ralphine smirked at him sinisterly, before she ran into the arms of the waiting King, surprising both herself and Miroslav. Maybe there was something that had truly changed in her, right?
“I knew you would come for me. Thank you,” Ralphine said, against King Miroslav’s chest which was beating a little too fast. It was almost like he hadn’t been expecting the sudden affection The King hadn’t known what it meant to be in such states. but now that he was right now, he couldn’t help but be glad that she was okay. So, he held her closer to him, hugging her tightly and breathing the crook of her neck. She remembered him doing that last time and that had activated her Lycan bond. Perhaps he was strengthening it, or maybe, this time, he was finally lening Ralphine’s Lycan out of its little cage.
“I’m happy you held on,” the King breathed out while Drescher just stared at them, before digging to make a run for it. The Koslov beta rushed out through the cabin backdoor in the hope that he would be able to outsmart the queen’s high guards He was a little too confident because he had masked his cent, but was that ever going to be enough when he had the Lycan queen’s mild scent lingering on him? There was nothing he could do to escape whatever hell the Lycan King had planned for him and the sooner he faced that reality, the sooner he would understand what the stakes were and how high they currently were, right?
“He’s running. Ibrahim,” Ralphine said when she heard Drescher’s footsteps fade away, but the King didn’t let her go, like he already knew there was nowhere for the Koslov beta to go. It was nothing new and with his Lycan queen safe and sound in his arms, the King could do whatever he enacted.
“He won’t make it past Kara. ‘She’s really pissed off that Polina did this to you,” King Miroslav said and Ralphine sighed as they pulled back from the hug. She wasn’t sure what to say about that, really. The last time, Polina had told her that they needed to leave Kara behind and she had agreed to it. She should have known that there was something fishy about Polina being so nice to her, but then it was already too late. Maybe she would find a way to make it up to the high guard even though she did need to. She was her queen, after all, and Kara was just her guard.
“I’m sorry about everything, Ibrahim. I’m sorry I worried you, and-” Ralphine rambled on as she stared into the King’s eyes. She could see the conflict in them. He was trying to be very patient with her, trying to be understanding but the situation wasn’t exactly making it any easier for them.
She had been kidnapped for a week and stored in the basement like some trashy captive that no one cared about. That shit bothered Miroslav, but he was holding back because he didn’t want his queen to think he was a violent man. Then again, Ralphine already knew the kind of man the Lycan King was, so there was no point in trying to hide that from her, right? Well, it was good that he was trying to change for her, and she was slowly noticing it too.
“Ralph,” Miroslav whispered hoarsely as he looked at his Erastha’s face, studying her, taking her in every feature of her face. every freckle, every crease, every smooth outline. He looked like he was memorizing every little feature of her face, from how her beautiful nose stood out, to her pretty eyes, not to mention her rosy cheeks. She looked so beautiful and like the deadly sin that Miroslav wouldn’t mind giving into.
She looked so tempting and when his eyes reached her plump lips, the King felt like he was slowly losing control. He could feel her breaths on his face, her intoxicating lavender scent filling up his lungs and having him year for more. He needed more, he had to figure out a way to ask for more, instead of just king. He had promised himself he would be better with her, and maybe that was shy he was waiting for her, hoping that she wanted this too, that she could see the desire pooling his eyes, however raw it was, and let him in. Perhaps it was too much for the King to hope for, but was it?
“Ibrahim.” Ralph said softly, loving the way he spelled out her name delicately like he was scared he would hurt her. As he listened to her, he could see the movements of her lips, driving her in, tempting him, reminding him that they were omitted, while his Lycan was having the primal desire to capture her lips roughly and mark her here so she wouldn’t be alone the next time she was captured.
At that thought the King let out a low growl. He would never let anyone take her from him again, even if he had to be her

personal bodyguard. If this happened again, blood would flow and he wouldn’t care about the consequences. He would do whatever he wanted to make sure that his queen was safe and sound.
“R” the King began only for Ralphine to shut him up by smashing their lips together.
At first, the King was in shock, genuinely confused, and unsure if what was happening was real and not in his head. He had thought of the endless times he would kiss her, the times he would taste every inch of her. He had always hoped it would be perfect so she wouldn’t feel pressured. He had wanted it to be best for her but what he hadn’t expected was that she would be the one to initiate the kiss. He could feel her kissing him, nibbling and biting his lips, like a hungry mate.
She wanted more and when she moaned and let out a tiny white, Miroslav snapped out of his trance and returned the kiss more fervently, yet delicately. He didn’t want to hurt her, he couldn’t. So, he gently put his hand around her neck, pulling her closer, and giving her what she wanted. What they both wanted, the desire they had been holding onto for the longest time. It was the kiss that held so much, expressed so much, that the air around them easily conformed to their thick scents.
The lavender in the air was potent and Miroslav couldn’t help but smile as he kissed his Erasthat. She loved this and that was all he needed. It didn’t matter what he wanted, as long as his queen got what she wanted. She was his bane, after all.
“Baby” the King spelled out when they pulled apart, their lips swollen with their emotions all over the place, and she hid her face in his shoulders, unexpectedly granting him access to her neck. Miroslav didn’t hesitate to breathe her in even more. running his tongue on the part of her neck that he would mark. He could feel her submitting to him, probably because of their thick scents but that didn’t matter at the moment.
King Miroslav could feel his self–control dwindling when he heard her whimper. It wasn’t in pain but in desire, like she wanted to get more, to do more with him, like he was the only thing she could think of at the moment. Their desire was fucking with his brains and for a moment, he let out his fangs, and grazed them on her neck, leaving tiny bites as if to tell her that that was the point he would mark her. He was being patient, but he was a Lycan at the end of the day, and a dangerous one–not to her though
“We should go home,” Miroslav added when he realized that the longer they stayed here the longer he wanted to do the unthinkable there, and he didn’t think she would appreciate being taken in the same place that she had been captured in.
“Only if you stop walking on eggshells around me,” Ralphine whispered as she nibbled the King’s ears, something that got “him unaware, because Ralphine could see the chills running down his spine. Oh, but she got him good, perhaps that was the best thing she could do, yeah?
“Yes… Anything you want, askim… I’m at your mercy,” the King said, making Ralphine chuckle as she kissed his neck too. She couldn’t deny that she was slowly growing fond of the mad King, and maybe it was because their hearts had finally found their missing pieces.
“Take me home, Ibrahim,” Ralph said and the King created a portal and went through it, leaving behind his warriors. They could always take care of themselves and find their way home, right?
