Chapter 6
The Lycan King hadn’t slept enough and was worried about the girl in his bed. He was so close to losing his mind and he really. didn’t need his best friends acting like this was a common occurrence to them all.
Heion looked at his friend, the bags under his eyes, and considered reminding the Lycan King of how many people depended on him, but then he figured that Miro had enough for a night. Perhaps they would talk about this later.
However, if he wanted answers, they would go out there and get the damn answers. After all, it wasn’t daily that werewolves were the main reason the Lycan King lost his sleep, especially one that was found recklessly, and simply what the wolf community considered rank less.
“When do we begin?” Heion asked.
King Miroslav looked at him before he sat behind the desk that had been seeking him out and he never really found a way to erase everything. He was different today and they all understood him.
“As soon as possible. But first, let Viktor tell us what happened at the Koslov pack,” King Miroslav said, and his friends were visibly relaxed. They had time; enough time to figure things out.
Deep down, they knew that it could have been easier to know where the woman was from, if she was close to a pack border, but then she was in the middle of the lands that everyone walked, the lands that were surrounded by all werewolf packs, which made it a little bit harder to figure out who she was.
“You mean to tell me that the Alpha burnt his brother at the stake to appease us?” King Miroslav asked with a smirk.
He loved that people were so worried about going against him that they always bent to his will. It was fascinating and more than anything, it gave him a lot of power in the community.
And Miroslav Ibrahimovich loved power so damn much.
“Yeah. But I found it rather odd, how calm the perpetrators were,” Viktor said and King Miroslav looked at him like he needed to explain more. It almost sounded like he was siding with the perpetrators.
“What is that even supposed to mean, Viktor?” Heion asked and Miro just stared, again.
“I mean they didn’t look like criminals, Miro. We have seen a lot of criminals, but those two didn’t match it. Besides, they lived a simple life, and didn’t bother defending themselves. It was almost like they knew this was a fate that was coming for them, a fate so cruel that they had been waiting for for so many years.
“They didn’t even scream when the fire ate them up. Do you know how numb you have to be to not even react to the fire burning your body!” Viktor sighed. He had seen the Belyaevas, and honestly, he was sure they were innocent.
Perhaps that would make the king change his mind. Then again, even if the King changed his mind, even if the world came to a close, it wasn’t like there was anything they could do. The Belyaevas were dead and life was already going on in Koslov
anyway.
“That’s unfortunate. But that isn’t our problem. Thanks for the update. You guys can send warriors to get more information on the girl, while you get some rest. You both look like shit,” Miro said, adding the last part lightly. And that was when Heion got up.
“Say that again, you idiot. Say it, and look at me while doing so, Heion dared, and the King simply got up from his desk and stood in a stance that showed he wanted to make a run from it. His friends were bastards, but he loved them nonetheless and right now he knew Heion was mad because he couldn’t sleep. And it was all Miroslav’s fault.
“I’ll cook for you if you don’t curse at me,” the King said and Heion just shook his head.
“You always cook trash from good ingredients, your royal highness. Viktor does a better job than you and he’s handicapped in the kitchen.” Heion said, as Miroslav face palmed.
“I’ll give you a week off, once things settle down,” Miroslav said, and Viktor snorted. They knew they had just started a new cycle of chaos and it would truly take a long while for them to get any real fun or even a holiday out there.
“Dude, we have a queen whose identity we don’t know. Not to mention that you are here because you’re worried that she might want to run if she saw your face. I wouldn’t blame her though, your looks intimidate the regular creation. So that means no holiday for me,” Heion said before he stared at his best friend thoughtfully.

“Wait. Do you know what could make me happier, and count as an apology)”
“What?”
“You go back to your room and try to talk to that girl like a normal person, not like the barbaric King the realm knows.” Heion said and to that, once again. Viktor snorted. His friends were insane, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Fine. I’m the King. Besides I have won wars that haven’t ever left the history books, thanks to my excellent methods,” King Miroslav bragged and his friends just looked at each other sharing a look that told Miro that he was a little too late to get out of the damn agreement.
He was aware that he would eventually have to talk to the girl, but he hadn’t imagined it would be this soon, or even like this. It was making him feel some type of way, and his anxiety was amusing to his friends.
“Yes, Miro. You are the King. Go get us our queen, while we sleep alright? And be nice,” Viktor said with a light laugh
“I am always nice,” Miroslav defended even though it was a lie.
“Try to smile too. If smiling is hard, don’t force it. We don’t want the poor woman going into shock because of you,” Heion said as he got up to leave.
“Don’t get touchy.”
“He doesn’t even touch himself
“I think he will stay in his office the entire day.”
“He’s scared of women.”
“That explains why he hasn’t had any sex slaves.”
“Is Miro a virgin?”
“Hell, if I know.”
“I’m thinking he is.”
“GET OUTTTT!!” the King said as he stared at his friends disbelievingly. You would think they would stop teasing him after so many years, but then they never changed, just like Miro had never changed with his friends. He was always caring with them.
“Yup, that’s our cue to leave,” Viktor said as he dragged Heion out
“Get laid, Miro!” Heion shouted, before Viktor figured that Heion’s mouth would get them into more trouble, when they had assignments to do.
“You little trinkets,” Miro mused as he rushed to the door, a pillow in his hand, only for Heion to tease him again.
“Yup, that would make good practice Miro!”
The Lycans in the hallway weren’t bothered that the King and his best friends were bickering like old men. They were used to that, because there wasn’t a day that passed that the three of them didn’t tease each other.
It didn’t matter whether they came from winning wars, making cruel decisions, or even making people’s lives difficult. The three of them would always be warm with each other, and perhaps that was the only hope the Lycan had to know that their King, however devilish he was, was a good person, if he couldn’t interact with his friends and not have their heads on a spike. Oh, but Heion would have been the first there given how much he loved teasing the Lycan King.
“Stupid pillow,” King Miroslav groaned as he dumped the throw pillow on the couch. He knew that he couldn’t put off going back to his queen anymore. But first, he would work a little. Maybe that would give him enough time to gather the courage to face the fragile woman there.
An hour later, the Lycan King couldn’t concentrate anymore. He had tried his best to work, but all the time, his mind would drift to the broken angel in his bed. She made him want to be careful around her, and be gentle. Oh, she made him want to change, and they hadn’t even managed a discussion.
Perhaps there was truly hope for Miroslav’s humanity, but what if this wouldn’t mean a thing? Dejectedly, the King decided to

Walking in Miroslav wasn’t sure how he would start a conversation with the woman. It scared the hell out of him and if he could be would have tried to get someone else to do that for him. But then he was the King, and he had brought home a we just because she smelled appealing to his Lycan
There were so many unknowns and this was probably a terrible idea. But thankfully, Miroslav was a powerful King, surely he

However, that didn’t seem to go well, because she woke up, and her first instinct was a scream.
