After a whole day hanging out with the kids, the king and his queen were currently headed to dinner.. with Alpha Bashir. It was just like the previous day. Only that today they all hoped that the dinner wouldn’t be as fucked up. No one was in the mood for cleaning up messes anymore and if anything, there was already more than enough tension between the royals and the alpha. This alpha should have known what to expect of a mated Lycan. But perhaps he wouldn’t try that again, right?
Today, Ralph and Miro were the first to arrive at dinner. The table was set. And one by one, Viktor, Heion, and Kara joined them. It was a habit for them, and they didn’t mind because most of the time their dinners were usually just the five of them. Soon enough, the werewolf alpha was standing at the door of the dining room, ready to see what today would bring for them. It was not like he had so many expectations, but then a friend would hope not to ruin a simple familial dinner, right? Surely it wouldn’t be that hard for the intelligent alpha Bashir, yeah?
“May 1” the alpha broke the silence in the dining room.
He had been expecting them to look at him with contempt and anger for what had happened, not to mention the fact that the five of them were still very suspicious of his true intentions here. He had been expecting them to bombard him with the truth that they would soon find out sooner or later, but then staring at them right now, they looked calm, like they didn’t know shit about him. They looked like the whole of Asmoria could burn and they would be so certain that it wasn’t because of Alpha Bashir, right? But was that really it or was that just what they wanted him to see?
King Miroslav and his friends were psychos of the highest order They were the craziest of the crazies, not to mention the bastards of the bastards and they were intuitive as fuck. No matter what happened, however terrible it was, their faces would never give it away, unless they unanimously agreed to show some signs and right now there weren’t any hints of the alpha standing there. They knew something about him and were in the process of everything, but then the alpha didn’t kitow that or didn’t he?
“Of course, come join us,” Ralphine spoke, and the alpha let out a sigh of relief. He knew she had been mad at him the entire time and seeing that she was the one welcoming him, perhaps they were to get started on a cleaner slate, right? One foot in front of the other, the alpha nervously made it to the table. He had never been this nervous his entire life and the only reason he was probably looking like a shaking leaf was because he didn’t want to disappoint Ralph. His mission to get the Lycan Queen on his side, was still a go, and no matter what happened, he would find a way to get her out of Asmoria, *because of him, Asmoria was the kind of hell that his dear friend didn’t deserve.
He would save her from them, but the only problem was knowing whether Ralph was in danger or the Alpha was just being psychotic and obsessive.
Thank you,” Alpha Bashir said and soon the table began chattering. It was then that the alpha realized that this bunch didn’t have rules when it came to their friendship, and while they were including the alpha as one of them, he was here to see what it meant to have a family. Bashir was kept the entire time. His eyes focused on the five of them and how they interacted. He watched how Viktor talked passionately about the dungeon project despite the fact that the dungeons were where blood and pain lived. It didn’t matter because all of them at this table were murderers in every way.
Bashir washed as Kara kept her eyes on Ralph, like she was waiting for a command that she needed her to follow. That was typical of the high guards, given they were the queen’s protectors. So, Bashir didn’t find that any different. His eyes trailed. off to Heion, the king’s enforcer, who had been staring at Bashir the entire time. When their eyes met, Bashir was sure he wasn’t going back down. He didn’t care so much about the dinner, but at the same time, he didn’t understand what the enforcer was hoping to get. Clearly, Hei wasn’t looking at him with intimidating eyes. Well, Bashir pulled away

His eyes would later trail onto the worst beast of all the beasts. The king who could ruin his life and entire pack with just one order and no one would make it alive. He knew Miroslav, and he hated Miroslav with everything he had and didn’t have Every minute that Miro was alive was a cruel reminder of a past Alpha Bashir never wanted to revisit, a past that involved the Asmoria dungeons, and a past that had broken his heart not to mention, one that shattered his will to live.
Bashir knew Miroslav knew him from the dungeons, but to the King, he was so useless that instead of Miro thinking that Bashir came back for vengeance, he only thought of Bashir as an annoying woll, not even a werewolf pack leader no. To Miro he was nothing and he didn’t deserve the time of the day. Maybe that was also why he had come when he knew that the king would be mated to Ralphine. Bashir had heard the rumors about the broken girl being the king’s mate and in that aspect the king had been a good person, right?

‘Let’s see how long you play the clam game, Miroslava, Bashir thought to himself as he looked at the king.

Ever since he had come here, he knew he was not even a threat to the king, but then when the queen mentioned their friendship form before. The jealousy had been so evident in the Lycan king’s eyes. Bashir had never thought there would come a day when the mighty Lycan king would ever be jealous of him, a mere wolf. It sounded like a far–fetched horror story and honestly, it creeped him out. Anyone would have sworn he was lying but the fact that the king was seated a little too close to the king on the dining table was everything he needed to know.
In a normal setting, the king and queen would always be seated at both ends of the table. Looking at each other with love. and affection. It was a non–issue most of the time, especially when the king would choose to have his queen sit next to him. Yet today, the seat at the head of the table was empty and the king was just sitting like he was another member of the table Bashir knew this was because of him and frankly, he loved that he could intimidate the great King that much.
“I saw Drescher earlier today.” Alpha Bashir suddenly said as he looked at Ralphine. The woman after his heart, the woman who should have been his, and the woman who belonged to him and only him. He would make sure she understood just how bad Miroslav was for her. It was clear that they hadn’t completed the mating process and honestly, that was relieving for Bashir. It meant that he still had a chance with her, mark bonds could be erased, but the mating ones would take a while to erase because it involved too much intimacy. Perhaps Bashir would be lucky to save his Shehzadi from Miro, right? Ah,
Bashir.
“You were in the dungeons today?” Ralph asked even though she already knew it. However, her facial expression was telling the alpha that she had no clue about this, not to mention the fact that everyone at the table was staring at Bashir curiously. Ralph was also staring at her husband, and the rest. She looked confused, so sincerely foreign to the truth that Bashir felt his heart shatter for the girl he loved with all of him. He hated that they sidelined her and he wanted to save her for the pain that came with the Lycan kingdom, right?
“Yeah… I went there with Heion in the morning.” Alpha Bashir said so casually and Ralph’s eyes widened as she looked as Heion who seemed to be looking everywhere but at Ralph. It was almost like the table had gone silent from the sudden revelation and birth was exciting for Bashir. For an alpha good at reading people, he was not getting and reading the answers right, or maybe, he was dealing with pros in the psycho business. There was a reason the royals of Asmoria were dangerous and Bashir would soon learn of it, but until then he was tapped into the beautiful cycle of unknowns with the girl he loved.
“You.. Drescher? You went to see Drescher and didn’t tell me? What the fuck, Hei?” Ralph asked, her voice showing anger, like she really didn’t know of this. Heion looked at his queen, his eyes so humbled and fear written all over them, while Bashir watched with amusement as he kept eating his dinner. At least tonight, he wasn’t the one who would ruin their dinner, right?
“My queen–Hei began but Ralph interrupted him, making Miro stare hopelessly at his best fine. It wasn’t news that Miro himself was scared of Ralphine, and when she was angry, but right now, the farce they were selling would only work if the king pretended like he wasn’t even a part of this. Perhaps that was one of the best things that came from the trust they had in each other. This team was always going to be unbeatable, always
“You knew he went to the dungeons to see Drescher?” Kara whispered to Viktor who just shrugged like he hadn’t been there.
“I just heard it now. Besides, we were with you the whole morning. How would I know what he was doing with alpha Bashir?” Viktor said, the raw disappointment in his voice making a show and fucling the alpha’s excitement. He wanted to see them tear each other apart at this time, it wouldn’t be because of him.
“I didn’t mean to ruin dinner,” Bashir said after a while and Ralph stared at him, though this time it wasn’t because of anger. Her eyes were staring silently at him, like she was more trusting of him than her own people. Then again, it wasn’t that hard for Bashir to believe it, given that they had been friends for endless years. This was him getting his best friend back
“No, you didn’t. Thanks to you, I knew that someone went to vis my ex, the same man who caused me so much pain, and didn’t bother telling me about it. If you didn’t say a word, I am certain he wouldn’t have said shit to me. Just great,” Ralphine said as she glared at Heion who was still looking at her with a pleading face.
“Tei is a good person askim. He would eventually tell us. Besides we were with the children the whole day, right? That was probably why he didn’t do anything.” Miroslav said and Ralphing just sighed defeatedly. Miroslav had a point even though there was no point for it. Well, this was going on well so far so there wasn’t a reason for them to fret, right?

“I didn’t want to ruin your day, your highness. I know how sensitive a topic the Koslov beta is. I was showing the alpha the dungeons given it was a requirement of the treaty, for him to know where we would put the criminals of the treaty. I didn’t mean any disrespect,” Heion said as he looked at Ralphine. There was nothing in their eyes, not even the obvious hint of mischief in the cruel game; they were playing games with the alpha. Perhaps Bashir would have to learn a lot of things from this bunch the hard way.
“You did well….someone had to say it,” Ralphine said, as she ran hand through her hair. She looked disappointed and Bashir was glad for that. Perhaps she was finally going to be seeing them for who they were, people who would never be able to root for her all the time like he would.
“Anyway, next time, a heads–up would be nice, Hei,” Ralphine said, making Bashir smirk at Heion.
“Of course, your majesty,” Hei said.
Alright, enough of that. Let’s enjoy our dinner, shall we?” Ralph said, shocking Bashir. However, the alpha was quick to conceal his reaction, but he was once again making Ralph a silent promise.
I’ll free you, Shehzadi. I’ll definitely free you from them, just hold on for me, Meri Shehzadi Bashir promised as he looked at his best friend who was back to smiling with the people at the table. He would open her eyes to their truth, right?
