Chapter 77
To say Heion and Viktor were pissed off was an understatement. They had spent the entire midmorning cleaning themselves up and even then they still reeked of blood and volt. They were outraged by the idea that all this time, Dresher Volkov had had them on a string like a puppeteer who knew just what buttons to press. He had done it so well it was sickening to know of. That in itself pissed them worse than the shit they had woken up in. They couldn’t understand why Drescher was so obsessed with the Lycan queen and why he had risked everything, including their best friend to make this. shit happen. Oh, but the beta and enforcer were raging.
“Let’s go see him,” Heion said angrily and Viktor stared at his best friend skeptically. They were right to be angry, right to hate that they had been manipulated, and they were right to demand answers in a world that they had been forced into. They were right to step out there and seek out any things that were a threat to their Queen and the kingdom, but even then they couldn’t deny that this was dangerous.
Viktor was aware that this was risky as he knew that a lot of things could go wrong like that. He knew that no matter what they did, no matter what they got out of Drescher the king would always have the final say, archer had committed treason more than once and he had the backing of the Koslov wolves, something that got Heion wanting to bring down the world
and and smash it on Drescher’s head must to make sure that the damned bastard beta never once lived. It had been wrong, nothing justified the way Drescher had betrayed their friend.
“Yeah… let’s go, Viktor agreed and together they made their way to the dungeons only to be stopped by a crass–looking Kara. She was glaring at them like she wasn’t in the mood to clean another mess by the boys, which was understandable seeing as she was yet to come to terms with the fact that all that shit had transpired. It didn’t make any sense to her and the expansion that they had been given just made their blood boil even more. She just wasn’t in the mood to play games with these two at
the moment.
“I don’t care if you want to kill him. Just not today. I am not cleaning up another mess and the entire kingdom needs to come to terms with that reality. They need to understand it all and they will have questions. So turn your asses back and go do whatever the fuck it is that you do in your free time I swear if you both defy me and go to see Drescher, I will boil your eyes, Kara threatened and instinctively the boys stepped black, giving her the space to walk away
They may have been of higher ranks and pebbly more powerful than her, but they knew that she had endured the worst of things today. She had cleaned up things that even the universe we were always going to frown on. The appearance of the Lycan queen was supposed to make the kingdom better, to heal them and their wounds, and yet the moment their queen had stepped into Asmoria, there were endless issues that they could never understand in one sitting. It was difficult to understand how the fuck Drescher had managed to do all of that under their noses.
Alpha Bashir had shown up because he looked like Ralph’s best friend. It was annoying on so many levels, how easily they had been manipulated. The entire kingdom had been filled and the king who was suspicious from the very beginning hadn’t said a word. He had let time take its odor and that was even scarier than the madness that had ensured. The Lycan king was dangerous, the Lycan king was the devil. He was someone that many were scared of and now that they learned that she had known the truth from the beginning, they weren’t sure if they needed to be glad he was their best friend or if they needed to be ready for time eh the king would probably want to take them out.
“I think it’s best if we turn back. I love myself a little too much to make me a target of an angry Kara,” Heion signed defeatedly. She was right though, so they didn’t even have to argue about that.
And so, for the next three days, the Lycans kept to themselves, each hoping their queen Ralphine was doing alright, while most trained to defend their queen from the revolution. It was an unexpected response really and for a moment there Ralph had felt bad for them. She had come into their lives and carried along her baggage with her, and now they were paying the price for not sending her away. She knew they were doing their best and that was not even encouraging. She was already blaming herself for all of this.
The King had tried to cheer her up in every way that he could, however his queen, would go to bed, and suddenly wake up clicking with Drescher on her lips, that man had snatched a lot from her and now she was trying to be happy but the bastard was making it his mission to see to it that Ralph was miserable. There was only so much that the Lycans could endure and deal with, before they started looking at their queen differently. Ralphine was scared of that day coming and she hoped to the goddess that she wouldn’t have to be alone when that time came.

Chapter 77
“Heyy,” the king said to his queen. They were currently in their new chamber and she was standing by the window, probably having all sorts of things in her mind. She was scared and she needed to be, because the Lycans were loyal to their king and were only in support of her because the king had mated with her Ralph had so many questions in the past three days and yet even then she hadn’t managed to find an answer. It was almost as if everything that she ever did or everyone she interacted with always had something to say, She hated that.
“You’re back,” Ralph greeted softly, as she looked out the window, She was scared of stepping out because she was worried that her people would want to be rid of her, but who was to explain to her that it wasn’t her fault that Drescher was just another maniac on the loose and that she didn’t need to worry too much about it?
“Let’s go talk to Drescher,” the king said and Ralph sighed deleatedly. Would it ever be worth it?
