Chapter 82
[MIROSLAV]
He knew her, his beautiful darling.
He had been there through and through
He knew her so well it was heartbreaking and comforting at the same time.
Staring at his crasthai holding back her rage, the Lycan king felt part of him break on her behalf. He had seen how hard she had tried to move on. He had watched her work on being better for the past year and all of that was slowly crumbling because of one man who shouldn’t have had that much of an effect on her. Beta Drescher’s betrayal had broken her and the king knew that it would take some time for her to heal. He would help her out. He would figure it out for her like he promised, but he hoped that she wasn’t too broken by the reality, because no matter what happened. He was always going to
be there for her.
He had wanted to watch her conquer, but nothing was ever going to be the same. Each day with her here in this throne room, ruling and making decisions for the Lycans and the factions, Miroslav knew that his woman was still mourning her parents. Maybe that was why he wanted her out of the trial today, because he knew it would be messy But she had insisted on staying. She had told him that she would be alright with it all Clearly, she had lied and Miroslav wasn’t going to fault her for wanting to try and be there for her people. If anything, her determination made him fall in love with her even more.
But even he knew there were limits and his baby wasn’t ready yet
Perhaps he could consider some other option?. But which one
“Hei, you and Viktor take care of things here. We’re leaving the king said to his enforcer who just nodded in understanding They had seen how hard their queen was trying, and how much he was pushing herself to make Asmoria a better home for their people. They had watched her be the queen Asmoria needed in the past six months. She was a good queen. She listened to her people. She did her best to make sure that none of the Lycans felt like they didn’t belong because she knew firsthand what it meant to not belong. She had experienced the worst of it all and frankly, Ralph wouldn’t want it on anyone else.
The king didn’t leave room for argument or even for the royal council to speak their mind; he didn’t wait for the high guard to step forward and start asking the woman he loved if she was okay. He didn’t wait to see what the world was going to give the woman he loved while she stood there in front of everyone. Her heart was shattered and they all could feel it. Her traumas, her past was always coming to the surface with each time that she saw Drescher and frankly it was a sire sport for
her.
So, the king stepped down from the podium and walked to the center of the room where his queen was standing. She was still staring at the place where Drescher’s mother was being seated on by Lycans. It was something so heartbreaking, but she had expected this from Miro. She had to have known that life wasn’t always going to be butterfly and shit with the man she was mated to, right? But even then, was that really a trigger for her when she had been the one to stay here with him? Well, there was nothing that anyone could do, but the king could always find a way.
“Come, askim,” the king said as he gently entwined his hands with that of his queen.
Her hands were warm, despite the temperature in the room having changed by little When Miro entwined his hands with hers, he hadn’t expected that they would be shaky. Thankfully the lighting in the throne room was dim and most of them couldn’t tell that she was shaking, but then again, Miro knew that even if the lighting was proper, she would have kept her posture. She wouldn’t have let anyone get one over her, and especially not Drescher Volkov. That was something that Ralph wouldn’t have done for Drescher.
Ralphine let Miroslav walk her out of the room, as he kept her focus on him. They could see the warriors staring worriedly at their queen but none of them had anything to say. They were aware of the horrible things that had preceded this moment and they sure hoped they could be of help. They had been training for the war and frankly, the six months that Koslov had been given was almost over. It was just a matter of weeks before the Lycans went to the wolves and took out the entire pack The king had sworn that to his wife and come hell or high water, he would make sure to keep his promise to her. She was his

world and he would make sure she was alright.
“Ibrahim,” Ralphine whispered softly when they were at a safer distance from the palace. When they had walked out of the throne room, the Lycan queen hadn’t expected that the king would bring her out this far. She had imagined that they would. go to their room and cuddle or rest for the day. She had expected that things would go back to normal, but it wasn’t that for the king. If anything, he looked like he wanted to let her catch a breath. Staying there had been suffocating for her and he couldn’t blame her for wanting out of the room, even if she hadn’t said anything
eyes. This “We’re almost there, askim. Don’t worry. We won’t go far, the king said as he looked at her with hearts in his woman was everything to him and he wanted to be there for her in every possible way. The brutality was fucking with her, reminding her of a past she was determined to let go of. It wasn’t going to be as easy but a girl could hope, couldn’t she? However, until then she would trust her husband. She would choose to stay beside him as they did all of this, but would it be good for her in the end?
Ralphine looked at the king who hadn’t once let go of her hand since they stepped out of the palace. She had noticed the eyes the Lycans were giving her, but there was no malice in them. If anything, some of them pitied her while others wanted to go fight her wars for her. Others looked at her with pride in their eyes and like she had survived the worst of them. Ralph wanted to ask how long her husband was going to be having Drescher around but she couldn’t do that. Not right now. She was aware of how Miroslav’s plan was extensive and slow.
The Lycan Queen understood that it was for the purpose of making the people who had hurt her suffer even more, but a part of her wished they could just get it over and done with. She wished they didn’t have to do it like this. It was breaking her heart and the throne room she had once loved, was turning into a crime scene and murder scene for so many people. Ralph was worried about the sanity of her erasthai. Perhaps that was why she had agreed to come along because she had a request for her husband. Even then, she could only hope that the king gave in, because if he didn’t, she wasn’t sure if there was something else she could do at the moment.
“We’re here, the king said excitedly when they reached their favorite spot. Ralph should have expected that he would bring her here, but then with Miro surprises were more common that regular habits. He was someone whose routine was hard to tell and Ralph had tried to get that but then she couldn’t for long. She had long given up and only ever let things happen as they could. Maybe she was giving in to her fate but what else was there for the broken girl?
“Ibrahim…. I don’t think I can do this anymore,” Ralph began even before they could settle on the grass that had grown warny in the evening.
