“I’d like to invite you to audition for the role of Marianne. Even though it’s just an audition, I personally have high hopes for you,” Kyle said with a beaming smile.
He was very curious about how Lenora would do.
Her status was quite vague at the moment. She could hardly be considered part of the entertainment industry when she had only played Melody and didn’t join anything else.
At the same time, it would be misleading to say she didn’t venture into the entertainment industry, for she did play the role of Melody.
Lenora gently declined, “I appreciate your generous offer, but I’m afraid I might disappoint you. I don’t have an interest in acting. I only took the role of Melody due to an emergency.”
“I’m in an emergency, too,” said Kyle.
The corner of Lenora’s mouth twitched. “Director Zabel, you’re joking.”
At the time, Tyler was already in the middle of filming. The need to replace an actor at the last minute presented a challenge as there weren’t many suitable actors available who could join the team immediately.
However, Kyle had left the drama in pre–production, and many likely desired the role of Marianne. Lenora thought there would undoubtedly be a suitable candidate, so she decided not to join.
Lenora exited the film set, casting a glance back as she left. This’ll be the last time we ever meet.
“Nora!” Someone had called out to her from behind.
Upon hearing that voice, Lenora immediately knew it was Jasmine.
She turned around, raising an eyebrow. “What brings you here? Don’t tell me you’re here to ask me to forgive Summer.” Didn’t Bertram promise to keep Jasmine in check?
Presumably out of great concern for Summer, Jasmine appeared significantly more haggard.
The thought of Summer being detained kept her up at night, preventing her from eating or sleeping properly. To make matters worse, Bertram had restricted her from seeking Lenora.
Jasmine had intentions of pulling some strings, but it was all in vain.
Moreover, her plot with Summer to ambush the police at the hotel and try to escape afterward only served to worsen Summer’s charges.
During that period, Bertram was away on business, which was why she could sneak into Jacaster.
Seeing Lenora directly address her intentions, Jasmine didn’t attempt to hide it. “Nora, Summer is just a child at heart. She meant no harm to you. You’re unscathed, aren’t you? Why can’t you forgive her? You two are cousins, family. You should love and care for each other.”

“Her last name is Lovestone. Mine is Wilkin. How are we related?” Lenora sneered. “You treat her like your” own daughter, yet you don’t know her character? To think you claim she means no harm to me. How can you even say that with a straight face?” spat Lenora.
“She was only being narrow–minded and, stubborn for time, and she already realized her mistake. Bertram and I will punish her, but imprisonment is too severe for her. It would ruin her life!”
“What does it matter to me if her life is ruined or not?”
Lenora saw that Jasmine’s affection for Summer had reached an unbearable extent. She was thoroughly fed up, not wanting to exchange another word with Jasmine. “I won’t forgive her. Don’t come looking for me again.”
Seeing Lenora about to leave, Jasmine spoke with a grim tone. “Lenora, how could you be so heartless? Summer is your cousin, the only child of your uncle. Are you jealous of Summer because she grew up by my side, and you want to ruin her? I’ve heard from your uncle before that you’ve always been a jealous child, always snatching away Summer’s things. If I had known, I wouldn’t have given birth to you!”
“Do you really think I want to be your daughter? If you’re so capable, why don’t you try stuffing me back in?”
“I gave you life, and this is how you talk to me? Do you think I wanted to have you? If it weren’t for your father’s deceitful promises of divorce, I wouldn’t have brought a bastard like you into this world! Since you want to sever ties with me, you will forgive Summer. This is a debt your father owes me. His blood runs through your veins, and you must repay it on his behalf!”
The “father” that Jasmine referred to was Kenneth.
Thinking of Kenneth and then looking at the sharp–tongued Jasmine in front of her, Lenora felt an overwhelming sense of nausea and irritation.
Even though Kenneth was her biological father, she was raised by the Wilkin family. There was no way Lenora would ever acknowledge Kenneth, not even if it cost her life.
She looked at Jasmine with a cold gaze. “Remember this. My father is Fernando, and I’m no bastard.”
After saying that, Lenora didn’t spare another glance at Jasmine. She walked away without looking back.
Jasmine reached out and grabbed Lenora’s hand. In response, Lenora shoved Jasmine away.
Lenora had always entertained the idea of leaving before.
Later on, because of Zachary, she set aside those thoughts.
The appearance of Jasmine brought that thought back to the forefront of Lenora’s mind.
As such, Lenora no longer wished to stay in Jacaster to see Zachary or him being affectionate with Susanna in the Fuller residence.
She also didn’t want to be bothered by Jasmine anymore.
Emotionally, Sophia desired Lenora to stay.
However, she also knew that aside from Allison, Lenora had no other family to worry about. Leaving

If Lenora had stayed in Jacaster, she might’ve kept being bothered by Zachary and Susanna. Additionally, Jasmine was certain to harass Lenora for the sake of Summer.
“Since you’ve made up your mind, I support you,” said Sophia. “However, don’t forget to come back for a get–together during the New Year.”
“Thank you, Soph,” replied Lenora.
“Have you decided where you want to settle down?”
Lenora shook her head. “Not yet, but I’m thinking of heading to Fairlake first.”
Having spent a year there before, Lenora wanted to revisit, hoping to jog some memories. If the place was suitable, she considered the idea of staying there.
“Have you thought about when you’ll leave?” asked Sophia.
“As soon as possible,” Lenora pondered. “I’ll apply for the visa tomorrow. I’ll take care of things here in the next few days and leave as soon as the visa comes through.”
All right. Before you leave, let’s gather with Fifi and Jonas one more time.”
“Okay.”
Frankly, there wasn’t much happening on Lenora’s end.
She had essentially sorted out her financial situation, and the charity foundation was gradually getting on track. If there were matters to discuss, they could hold a video conference.
By the time the visa was issued, it was already early June, and Lenora had booked a flight for the seventh of June.
Before her visa was approved, Lenora visited Allison and subtly hinted at her plans to leave.
Allison was puzzled. She and Zachary are clearly been on the path to reconciliation not long ago. Why does she suddenly want to leave?
When Allison mentioned Zachary, Lenora lowered her gaze, choosing not to discuss it. In response to seeing that, Allison realized something.
News of Lenora’s departure had already reached Fiona and Jonas. Jonas didn’t ask any questions but agreed to meet up on the fourth at noon.
Since their last encounter at the restaurant, it had been several months since Lenora had seen Jonas.
They met in a private room at noon on the fourth of June. Jonas had returned to his former gentle and sunny demeanor as if the events of that day had never happened.
He was reluctant to spoil the mood.
After finishing their meal and while waiting for the car, Jonas still said to Lenora, “If you ever decide to come back one day, I’ll welcome you
