Chapter 22
-A Wicked Fellow-
“Do you think you got some shares in my own money, you bloody fool!” Jane roared angrily at Mia, with her eyes
widened.
“We signed a contract, I signed a contract with you, to help create a replica of the art of so many renowned artists all over the world, Don’t you remember?” Mia asked, in a weak voice, she didn’t want to burst into tears again, not to look weak again, but her voice betrayed.
“You promised that I would be paid, fifty percent of what is sold out on the drawing I made, but I never got one, not even a cent, Ma’am,” Mia enunciated, suppressing the anger that was brewing in her, not to burst out, so that she won’t infuriate Jane, since the ball was in Court.
“Who gives a fuck if I had promised you fifty percent shares, huh?” Jane blatantly asked.
*Please ma’am, Don’t do this to me, I need to save my mother, she is all I have,”
*The doctor called informing me that if no deposit had been made before the day gets over, my mom would be good,” Mia said, as she crawled on her knees towards Jane’s seat.

****Flashback*
It was on a cold, snowy morning, Jane took a walk to the cafe, she normally had her coffee in the morning, as she passed a young lady, sitting on the sidewalk drawing the street on the tiny paper she held, with tears dropping down her cheeks.
Jane abruptly stopped in her steps, peeping a glance at the drawing from behind, a smile curled up on her lips instantly.
She swiftly squatted beside the young lady, with a gentle tap calling her attention, “Hello, why are you crying?” Jan with a calm, and concerned face, like an angel.
Mia wiped out her tears quickly, her throbbing in joy that someone finally showed concern,” my mom fell sick, and I need money to take care of her,” Mia responded swiftly, with her eyes brightening at Jane, a good Samaritan had been sent her
way.
Jane smiled immediately, ‘Perfect,‘ she muttered in her head.
“How about I tell you, you can make so much money with your magnificent drawing,” Jane asked, gesturing with a side gaze at the drawing.
Mia stared at her drawing, firming her grip on it, ” But people say, that I won’t ever make money with it, that my drawings are horrible,” Mia said, now gazing intently at Jane’s, whose face was laced with smiles.
“They are liars, and are jealous of you, and your magnificent talent,” Jane blurted, as she gently took the drawing from her hands, and smiled happily at it.
‘Finally, I found you, Jane mumbled in her thoughts, with an appealing gaze.
“Trust me when I say that your drawing is so perfect, and captivating. Your drawing stopped me,” Jane said, handing over the piece of drawing back.
Really?” Mia asked happily, her teary face swiftly turned into a smile.

“You will work for me, make drawings for me, drawings of renowned artists, and I will pay you 50 percent of the money made from each of your drawings,” Jane said, pushing forth the ble towards Mia, who was fitted across.
“Your signature should be here, and if you have none, you can write your name,” Jane said, flipping the file open, as she gestured to her the right spot for her signature on the file.
Mia stared at it with a worried facial expression, “Isn’t this illegal we could go to jail for this,” she asked, narrowing her worried gaze at Jane.
“That can never happen, I got people solemnly behind me, high–class men and women in this, who need this painting, so we are certainly free from being scared of the cops,” Jane said enthusiastically, but her brow slowly darted in dismay, as she noticed Mia’s hesitation to sign.
“Flee the worry, young lady, don’t you want to save your mother anymore?” Jane asked, with an intense gaze at Mia.
“I do,” Mia replied curtly.
“Then do the needful,” Jane blurted, in a slight commanding tone.
Soon Mia signed her name in the given column on the paper, as she stared at Jane with a bright smile,” Let’s make this money,”

“You didn’t answer my question correctly,” Jane said sarcastically

“Do you truly – need – money?” Jane repeated, taking her words bit by bit, as she gently bent over, narrowing her feigned pitiful look towards her.
Mia’s face marred into confusion, “Yes, I do,” she replied, unwavering if she had replied correctly this time.

“Please ma’am Jane, don’t let my mother die, when you can help me,” Mia said, as she tried to follow suit on her knees.
Abruptly Jane turned with a furious gaze, and aggressive steps, closing up the little distance, as she furiously grabbed Mia by the jaw, her nails intently peering into her cheeks, not minding if she was hurting Mia, as Mia winced in great pain.
“Do I look like a charity organization?” Jane asked, with red–shot eyes at Mia.

But suddenly Mia decided to endure the pain she felt. If that was the way to get the money from Jane and save her mother, she was ready to do it.
“Oh, I have a way!” Jane exclaimed with a stunned face.
“A way that will save your mother, and give her a stress–free, and painless life,” Jane said, her face brightening up with a smile, as her eyes slowly got clear of the fury laced in it.
“How come I didn’t think of this earlier, while you walked in,” Jane berated herself faintly, as she rolled her eyes mischievously.
“Do you want to know?” She asked happily at Mia.
“Yes, so far my mom gets well and lives again,” Mia replied with a nod, affirming Jane’s question, with her eyes lightening up with effulgence.
“Just let your mother die!” Jane blurted out, in an unfeeling tone, with a smile curled on her lip.
Instantly, Mia’s eyes widened immediately at Jane’s utterances, with a shock marred on her face. She could not believe what she had just heard.
“You heard me correctly,” Jane said, slowly releasing her firm hold from Mia’s jaws, as the mark of her nails encrypted on Mia’s cheeks.
“Let your mom die, in that way, she will have a peaceful, painless life over there, and you..,” she said, abruptly stopping in her utterances, pointing at Mia, whose face was flooded with tears.
“And you get to enjoy yourself, free from burden like this now, and many more,”
Come on, you can do it, Your mom is too old already, so let her go!” Jane squealed, as she turned gesturing to sit.
“I heard that place, is much better than here, my humble and kind suggestion,” Jane declared in a careless voice, stripped off with care and kindness.
‘You better leave before you start crying here, I don’t need noise,” Jane spat out, unremorsefully over he

“Get your hands off me, you piece of cramp,” Jane shouted, profusely hitting Mia, with her leg, pushing her away, as she furiously hit her with the tip of her shoe, directly to her jaw, blood oozing from her mouth, as she fell to another angle. Jane walked up to her, abruptly raising her leg to stomp on Mia’s hand, but swiftly halted in her aggressive movement.
“Trusting is for fools like you!” Jane shouted, Mia wincing in pain, as she held onto her bleeding jaw.
“Leave my office this minute!” Jane yelled angrily, pointing at the door.
“And if you ever think…,” she halted, abruptly hitting Mia with her leg at the paunch.
“If you should ever think of reporting to the cops, you know what that means, right?” Jane asked in a husky voice.
“You will never get to see the broad daylight again, and I will make sure that only you suffer the consequences, alone!” She
