I didn’t know what Grant had been thinking. After our honeymoon, we returned to Silverclaw pack.
School started in early September. Jake stood at the entrance, and I was tying a tie for me. He looked at me deeply. He couldn’t hold back any longer, wrapping his arms tightly around my waist and pressing me against the door. He squeezed both of his legs into mine and we were breathing heavily. Kissing me deeply, possessively, he marked me again.
“I’ll reward my good girl when I get home.” He was hard and I was wet. Bond made us feel each other’s passion.
“Why so formal? Casual is fine.” I couldn’t understand him.
He disagreed, pointing to his cheek. I kissed his cheek and marked him. He smiled, pleased.
“How else am I supposed to show off my amazing mate?”
I wanted to say something but let it go, pushing him to the door.“Go! Don’t be late.”
“Come on, I’m a great alpha. They’re lucky to have me! And I graduated here with honors.” He boasted, then added, “I’m excellent!”
I rolled my eyes.“Yes you are. Approved. Now go.‘
”
He went to school happily. There were rumors that he was always showing off his wedding ring.
“Why so formal? My mate likes it.”
“You mean my lunch? My mate made it.”
“My plans for tomorrow? Date my mate.’
I didn’t know about that. I was considering getting a new job when someone knocked on the door. It was a delivery.
Inside was a wedding invitation. At the top were two names: Grant and Wanda.
They got together. But why would they send me the invitation? To show off? To tell he’d moved
on?
I tossed it aside.
Jake saw it.“Whose invitation?”
I shrugged, trying to get it from him.“Ignore it. It’s pointless.”
He raised it.“They invited us. Let’s go.” He wanted to know what Grant meant.
The wedding was next month. It was rushed but still well–prepared.
I never thought I would go to Nightfall pack with Jake. Many guests knew that I used to be with Grant, and they whispered while seeing me and Jake.
“Amazing. I thought Rosie would be Grant’s partner.”

“She’s indeed a partner, but not Grant’s!”
“I thought she moved on, but she looks heartbroken.”
Another guy joined, “What happened?”
“I heard the wedding was rushed because Wanda was pregnant. It’s been three months!”
“Three months? Rosie was still Grant’s partner at that time, wasn’t she?”
“I don’t know. But I remember Rosie said on her Moments that she wanted a new werewolf three months ago. Maybe that’s why.”
There voices were down, but I still heard them. It turned out that Wanda was pregnant.
I scoffed. No wonder I got that invitation.
Three months. It seemed they lied to me about not doing IVF.
