Chapter 100
At the end of the meal, Calvert suddenly said that he wanted to talk to Ash alone.
“It’s fine, Lachlan. Wait for me in the car. Ash implied that there was nothing to worry about.

Lachlan probably knew that the two of them were not on good terms. When he heard this, he looked at her worriedly. She shook her head at Lachlan, indicating that it was fine.
Dwayne had already grabbed Lachlan’s arm by then. “Lachlan, let’s go and give the lovey–dovey couple some space to mingle.”
Ash almost rolled her eyes.
‘Someone should just zip this guy’s mouth since he didn’t know how to speak normally; she grumbled in her head.
Ash propped her arm on the table and looked at Calvert. “What’s the matter? Spill it. They are all gone. Why are you being so mysterious?”
“Make Shadow Ventures give up the bidding of Riverstone’s Commercial Area.
Ash knew that she shouldn’t have stayed. She did not expect Calvert to say something like that. “Why? Have you lost your confidence? Are you afraid of losing?”
Ash narrowed her eyes and continued. “Also, why are you telling me this? I have nothing to do with Shadow Ventures. You are talking to the wrong person. That is not up to me. If that is all you wanted to say, we are done here.
Ash stood up and headed for the door without looking back.
Just as she reached the door, she heard an inhospitable voice behind her. “Your relationship with William is enough for you to manipulate the situation. Why do you have to take yourself down a peg or two?”
“You may be right, but why should I pass the message for you? Since you already know how good my relationship with William is, please don’t slander him in front of me in the future, Mr. Snider.”
Ash’s words were filled with anger. ‘It is true that nothing good was ever coming out of Calver’s mouth!‘
“Bang!”
Ash closed the door pretty hard.
Calvert’s eyes dimmed along with the sound of the door closing. There was a hint of displeasure between Ash’s brows. Calvert assumed that William had a really extraordinary place in Ash’s heart.
“Hey, Ash. That was fast.” Dwayne was leaning against the car seat and chatting with Lachlan. When he saw that Ash had come out, he chimed in.
Ash’s expression was less friendly than earlier on, giving off an unapproachable aura. She raised his brows and glanced at him coldly. “We are done talking, and that is why I am out. There is no need for me to linger. Anyway, Calvert and I are not on the best terms, neither are you and I, so stop being buddy–buddy with me.”
Ash then walked up to Lachlan and said in a gentler voice, “Let’s go Lachlan.”
Dwayne was left alone in the wind. ‘How did it become like this after chatting for a few minutes with Calvert? Ash was not angry when we were eating just now.
Dwayne, who was inexplicably implicated, was confused. Unfortunately, that was not the end.

“What’s going on? Did you step on her toes just now?” He asked Calvert, who came out of the room not long after that.
By the time Calvert got to the car, Ash and Lachlan had already left, leaving the depressed Dwayne behind.
Dwayne went up to Calvert to talk to him in an attempt to find out the reason. However, he was given the cold shoulder again. “Nothing. Aren’t you blabbing too much in front of her?”
What? Dwayne was confused.
He thought he was just trying to liven the atmosphere just now. “I am not going to take the blame. Don’t vent your anger on me after you have upset someone else.”
“Let me tell you, women need to be coaxed. How can you bear to annoy such a beautiful angel?” Dwayne placed his arm on Calvert’s shoulder as he imparted his experience.
Calvert turned a little solemn, and his voice reflected a hint of jeer. “You’re single, Dwayne, so don’t act like you’re the master of this trade.”
Dwyane was lost for words.
He could feel his thorough defeat. “The two of them are indeed a match made in heaven, or hell. The way they speak and that arrogant look on their faces are identical. No other human being will be able to take on either one of them in a romantic relationship, Dwayne thought.
Then something crossed his mind suddenly. “Calvert, when I passed by Shadow Ventures the day before yesterday, I was at the entrance and saw Ash chatting with William downstairs. I somehow feel that William respects her a lot, maybe too much.” Dwayne narrowed his eyes as he recalled the scene in more detail.
‘Respect?‘ Calvert frowned and did not continue the conversation. “Is there anything else? I have to go back to the company.”
“Come on. Don’t. How can you b enjoy it.” Dwayne glanced at his

Calvert looked gloomier than a few minutes ago. “Not everyone is like you, loafing around all day and doing nothing.”
The restaurant they were at was near the Snider Group. As he walked back, his noble and cold aura attracted the attention of many passersby.
[Calvert, the suit I ordered for you has arrived. I don’t have any plans tonight. Can we meet? I will pass you the suit, and we can have a meal together.]
In the CEO’s elevator, he received a message from Jade. He swiftly scanned through the message, and his slender fingers slid across the screen as he replied: [No. I have an appointment.]
Jade felt like crushing her phone when she saw the reply.
“Jade, are you done with your makeup?” Ginie Muller, the director, knocked on her door before walking into her dressing
room.
“Yup.” Jade immediately put on a gentle disposition. “Ginie, I am almost done. Thank you for waiting.”
Jade looked at the details of her makeup in the mirror and opened her juicy lips slightly. “Ginie, can you add tomorrow night’s scene to today’s schedule? I am thinking of going home tomorrow.”
“That will be really hard on your body, and I’m not sure if you can take it. You still have some scenes in the afternoon. Why are you thinking of going home all of a sudden?” Ginie knew about the situation of Jade’s family.
Jade smiled. Her gentle and pleasant appearance made her very approachable. “My mother said that she missed me. I have not been home recently, so I am thinking, maybe it is good that I go back to take a look. Also, Ginie, can you change the

persona of my character? If this character is still a kind soul in the later stages, it will not be very interesting
“If it is too difficult to make the changes now, it is fine. I’m just suggesting this because i want to challenge myself. Anyway, S can tell my parents about the sponsorship when I go back tomorrow: Jade looked at Cinie through the mirror
There was a subtle change in Ginie’s expression, but she was still smiling. However, her smile more or less had a hint of flattery. “Jade, keep the suggestions coming. I said it on your first day on the production team. Any thoughts and ideas are welcomed.
“We are a team. What is so difficult about slightly changing the plot? I shall talk to the screenwriter later and add depth to this character. What do you think?*
Jade smiled sweetly. “Thank you very much, Ginie, I have also done some simple character analysis previously. I will send them to you later. Let’s get ready for the set.”
Ginie agreed and left the room. The gentle look on Jade’s face instantly disappeared. What was left was her icy gaze and mocking smile.
