Hack at the Turner family’s residence, Caspian appeared to be rather aggressive.
“Mom, where is Jade?”
Jade only stayed at home for a while as she had other things planned for her day.
Brooke had just returned from a spa with her friend when she saw Caspian rushing in from the main entrance.

She touched her cheek gently and thought that the spa did a good job this time. Her mind was so focused on her face that she ignored Caspian.
Seeing that he was being ignored, Caspian came right up to Brooke and asked again, “Where is Jade?”
“How would I know? Did I do something wrong? It is like I am being interrogated.” Brooke frowned and glared at his son.
Caspian’s attitude instantly became better. “I did not mean that, Mom. You have misunderstood me. I just wanted to ask where Jade is. Is she not at home?”
Brooke became even unhappier. Jade was an adopted daughter after all, but Caspian only cared about Jade all day long and did not care a bit about his biological sister, Ash.
“How would I know where she is? She has her own things to do and does not need to report to me. Why don’t you just contact her directly? What for do you have to come home to look for her?
“Also, did you apply for leave again? Didn’t you say that the recent research project is very important?” Brooke looked at Caspian and saw that her son seemed to be a little anxious.
Caspian shook his head and explained, “I still have leave and reassigned two days. I could not contact Jade, so I came back. Jade called me yesterday and she sounded like she was in a very bad state. I wanted to check on her again this morning, but I could not contact her no matter what. She would not do anything stupid, right?” Caspian imagined a possible big scene.
When Brooke heard this, she looked more serious. “Jade was in a very bad state? She was fine when she came back yesterday. There was nothing wrong about her. She will not hurt herself. Don’t think too much.”
After raising Jade for so many years, Brooke knew Jade very well. Jade loved herself very much and cherished everything about herself, especially her life.
Therefore, Brooke would not believe that Jade would hurt herself.
“Mom, even if Jade is not your biological daughter, she has been living with us all these years. You can’t just ignore her just because you have found Ash, right? Do you not have any place for Jade in your heart?”
Brooke’s face gradually turned cold. “Do you know what you are saying? Before confronting me with these questions, have you ever reflected on yourself? Since Ash came home, have you ever treated her nicely?
“Do you still remember that Ash is your biological sister? I have never mistreated Jade nor do I owe her anything. It is not only me. The entire Turner family owes her nothing.” Brooke rarely got angry in front of her children.
Caspian did not expect his mother to say this. His mother’s retort rendered him speechless. He stood there and opened his mouth, but nothing came out.
Thinking about it carefully, that was indeed the case. Although Jade was adopted by the Turner family, she had been pampered and lived a privileged life for more than ten years. She had become a grown–up, and the Turner family had indeed done enough for her.
Ash, on the other hand, who was clearly the real daughter of the Turner family, had been lost for more than ten years and suffered bitterly.

“Mom, that is not what I meant. I just feel that Jade is already a part of our family. As for Ash, I just have not gotten used to it yet” Caspian’s dissatisfaction and anger instantly dissipated.
Brooke was still upset. Her tone was still filled with reproach. “No matter how long she has lived with us, Jade is still not my biological daughter, and no matter how long Ash has lived outside my care, she will always be my child.
“I have already forgiven Jade for all the mistakes she had made in the past. However, if she still tries to take things away from Ash in the future, I will not tolerate it. You can call me heartless then.”
Caspian lowered his head slightly. He had mixed feelings. The moment his mother stood up, he clasped her arm. “Mom, Jade is just spoiled. She is not a bad person. I will ask her to be more mindful in the future.”
“It does not matter if you like Jade better. In the future, when she and Ash are present at the same time, don’t be so unfair to Ash anymore. You should show more care to Ash.”
Caspian seemed to want to retort, but he suddenly thought of something. He shut his mouth and nodded, indicating that he understood.
Ash did not mean to cavesdrop, but she happened to be there. She had heard most of the arguments between Brooke and Caspian. Halfway through, she wanted to go in and tell the two of them to stop, but she felt that it was not the right time.
In the end, she gave up as she thought going in might be counterproductive.
“How long have you been standing here?”
Ash was totally caught up in her own thoughts and did not notice that Caspian was already standing in front of her. His expression was solemn. It was very different from his usual temperament.
Ash appeared indifferent as she glanced at him. “Would you believe me if I said that I had just arrived?”
“Nope.”
“There you go. No matter if I say that I have just arrived or that I have been here for a while, you will feel uncomfortable. So, just pretend that you did not see me.” The way Ash spoke to Caspian had always been as if she was talking to a silly child.
‘I can’t believe he still gets tricked by Jade’s scheming words at this age,‘ she thought.
Caspian looked a little uncomfortable and said, “Why do you always have to speak so harshly? I’m your brother, and you should have respect for me.”
“Alright, if you put it that way, am I right to say that you do not respect the old and cherish the young, too? I am your younger sister, but you have never shown me care before. Who is wrong and who is right here?” Ash retorted calmly.
Caspian was stunned for a moment. Then, his solemn expression morphed into unhappiness. “Are you saying that you are still a baby? How old are you? Do you think you are still a child?”
“Yeah, I think I am still a baby.” Ash sneered. She narrowed her eyes and deliberately provoked Caspian with her nasal voice.
It was obvious that her move worked. Caspian opened his mouth and could not say a word for a long time. He was powerless against a shameless person like Ash!
Ash regained her composure and glanced at the man in front of her with disdain. ‘How boring. It was just a simple tease and he is stunned.‘ She sniggered in her head.
“Stop right there, Ash.” As Ash turned around and had only taken a few steps toward the living room, Caspian stopped her again.
With her back toward him, Ash was exasperated. ‘Oh my god, this man thinks like a three–year–old child. When will he ever grow up?‘
