Chapter 120
Chapter 120
Ash had often worked overtime until late at night since she took over Funtime Games.
Beep! She went downstairs and was about to walk toward the car when a piercing horn sounded not far
away.

It was already late at night, and the car’s headlights were still on. Her eyes were half–closed from the piercing glare, and she cursed, “Who is it? What is wrong with him to have the car lights on at this hour?”
The person in the car seemed to have good hearing. After Ash complained in a low voice, the lights went out instantly, and the phone in her hand vibrated. It was a message from Calvert. [Get in the car.]
Ash dragged her tired body toward the car. “You’re playing the overbearing boss, huh?”
“How long have you been waiting?” Ash’s eyes were sore. She was worried that there would be an accident while driving when Calvert offered to take her home.
Calvert was wearing a light blue sweater. The hair on his forehead was down, making him look younger.
He glanced at his watch and smirked. “Just for a while. I called you, but you didn’t answer.”
“Oh, I just got my phone. What brought you here all of a sudden? Did Dorothy ask you to come this time?” Ash fastened her seatbelt and looked at Calvert with her eyes half–open.
She thought she would get the expected answer, but Calvert shook his head. “No, I came on my own.”
“Your mom said you’d been very busy at the company recently. You stayed over the night before yesterday, didn’t you?“,
asked Calvert.
So it was Brooke who said that. Ash almost thought Calvert had been watching her.
Ash’s eyes were extremely sore. She closed her eyes and groaned, “Yes, the company’s security system is better than at home. It’s fine to sleep over for a night.”
“Since we’ve teamed up to work on Triple–A Game, I can get someone to bring a team to help you.” A hint of worry appeared between Calvert’s brows. If Ash opened her eyes at that moment, she would be shocked by Calvert’s look.
If Calvert looked himself in the mirror, he would be shocked, too. His always cold face had softened, and there was even a
hint of warmth.
For some reason, Ash felt an inexplicable urge to sleep each time she sat in Calvert’s car. Besides, she was exhausted and sleepy, so her consciousness gradually became blurry. She replied perfunctorily, “Okay. We’ll talk about it later.”
Calvert lowered his deep and dark eyes. He said nothing else and drove Ash back to the Turner family.
“Doing games isn’t something you can finish in a day. Rushing for success isn’t a good idea,” Calvert suggested when Ash got out of the car.
She was silent for a moment, unable to hide the fatigue on her face. “I know, but there’s not much time left for Funtime Games. If things don’t improve in the next six months, it will end up closing down.”
“That won’t happen. It’s been almost fifteen years since the establishment of Funtime Games. It’s been about five years since Funtime Games started to lose money. Do you know why the Turner Group kept it?”
Ash shook her head and stood outside the car. The door was still open. Her curiosity was instantly piqued when she heard that. She sat back down. “Why? How did you know the reasons?”
“The Turner family is one of the four major families. Shouldn’t I know something about the companies under it?” Calvert

leaned back in the driver’s seat.
‘In that case, does it mean I don’t know the Turner family as well as an outsider?‘ Ash thought.
Ash had done quite a lot of homework, but if it was something private, she did not know. After all, she did not ask Lachlan in depth.
Calvert added, “Back then, Funtime Games’s establishment pushed the domestic games to an unprecedented height. However, later on, there was a problem within the company. One of the people in charge led the team away, and the entire company began to go downhill.
“Funtime Games means a lot to the Turner Group and is unique to the domestic gaming companies. Therefore, the Turner Group won’t give up on it even if Funtime Games is not doing well now. Otherwise, they’ll become people who can only share happiness but not woe.”
Ash was stunned. She pondered, ‘As expected, there’s always a simple and clear story behind an unfathomable secret. I’ve been wondering what it is about. And it turns out it’s all about sentiment, huh?”
In her opinion, playing the sentiment card was the most meaningless. They were businessmen, not philanthropists. For a company with negative profits, they should stop their losses in time.
Ash was silent for a moment and looked at Calvert curiously. “What about you? Do you think this is right or wrong?”
“I’m not the person involved. It’s not right to criticize it from any angle.” Calvert refused to make such a baseless assumption.
It didn’t matter whether it was right or wrong. No matter what the choice was, it was not perfect. There would always be two sides to it.
“Oh…” Ash drawled, “I understand. Are you trying to say it’s okay no matter what the results I achieve? After all, I have the backing of the Turner Group, right?”
“No,” Calvert answered decisively.
He looked at her with sharp eyes, and the answer seemed prepared. “I believe you. Funtime Games will return to its peak very soon.”
Ash had made herself the chairman of Shadow Ventures, and there was no doubt about her capabilities. Ash must have outstanding management skills and personal abilities. With the support of her impressive intelligence and interpersonal skills, Funtime Games would better.

Funtime Games had started well. However, something terrible happened midway, and they lost their backbone. Once they found their backbone back, they would make a comeback. And the backbone had appeared. It was Ash.
Calvert’s words reassured Ash. Ash had never acknowledged herself as much as at this moment.
Ash’s gaze could not help but linger on Calvert’s face for a few more seconds. Sometimes, Calvert wasn’t so sharp–tongued. Sometimes, he could talk nicely.
“Yes, let’s wait and see. I want Funtime Games to return to the top within half of a year. Many games are in the country, but few match the public’s characteristics.
“I already have a general direction. I will prove myself with the results.” Ash made a solemn promise.
When Calvert saw Ash’s bright eyes and determined face, his face unknowingly softened. “Alright, I’ll wait for your good
news.”
“Next week, we’ll meet and discuss the Triple–A Game. But do you have to do this yourself? Or are you only participating because of me?” Ash blurted out without hesitation as if it was a matter of course.

Seeing Calvert was silent, Ash realized her words were ambiguous. She cleared her throat and was about to explain when Calvert suddenly approached her and tried to catch something by her ear.
Ash’s body tensed up. The tip of her nose touched his cheek. This time, he reached out to her. Fortunately, the lights in the car were dim, so her flushed face could not be seen.
“What are you doing?” She had always been obsessed with good looks. Although she knew Calvert was a jerk, she still felt a little attracted to him at that time.
Calvert clenched his fist and extended his hand in front of Ash. When he spread his fingers, a small firefly jumped on his palm.
In an instant, Ash’s eyes lit up. With the excitement of a young girl, she exclaimed, “Oh my god, it’s a firefly!”
