Chapter 32
Chapter 32
Jade was a mess, her hair disheveled and her clothes in tatters, completely losing the sweet image she had during the day But what was shocking were the scratches all over her once flawless skin, and her delicate hands were now stained with blood, with raw flesh visible in places.
Ash’s eyes narrowed. ‘She’s really ruthless to herself
Jade had shattered the vase just to cut herself with the shards, seeking a moment of clarity.
When she heard the door, she jumped, not wanting anyone to see her like this.
Seeing Ash, she felt a mix of relief and anger. At least it wasn’t her parents or brothers catching her in this state. Quickly, Jade grabbed the torn fabric to cover her skin, glaring at Ash, “What do you want? Come to laugh at me?
Ash frowned. “Isn’t Calvert your old flame? Why didn’t he come to your rescue?”
Mentioning Calvert made Jade’s face shift from pale and flush. She had thought they had some sort of friendship, but Calvert had turned cold when he discovered her drugging him. Not only did he force her to drink it all, but he also had someone make sure she took the rest.
She had lost consciousness the moment she was dragged into the car. When she woke up at home, she realized Calvert was colder than she had imagined. But all of it was because of Ash, the woman standing in front of her.
‘If Ash hadn’t shown up, Calvert wouldn’t have turned so heartless‘ Jade couldn’t believe that Calvert she truly liked could be so cruel. All her anger went straight to Ash.
“Get out of here,” Jade shouted, her emotions boiling over, the drugs coursing through her making her eyes bloodshot. “Just go!”
When Ash didn’t move, Jade threw a vase at her.
Ash’s expression hardened as she turned to leave, but then she stopped.
Jade picked up a shard of the broken vase and stabbed it into her own arm. Blood gushed out, painting the room red.
Ash turned back. ‘Despite Jade’s self–inflicted pain, she is still Mom’s other daughter. If I do nothing, Jade will either lose her mind from the drugs or bleed out!
Sighing, Ash walked over, pulled out a pill from her pocket, and, despite Jade’s fearful glare, she quickly opened her jaw and shoved the pill inside.
Once released, Jade clawed at her throat, but the pill dissolved instantly, making her efforts futile.
‘Is she trying to finish herself off?‘ thought Ash.
Panicking, Jade lunged at Ash, grabbing her arm. “What did you just give me?”
“Poison! The kind that’s incurable,” Ash replied flatly, not even looking at her.
With that, she pushed Jade away and turned to leave, ignoring the panic on Jade’s face.
By the time Brooke arrived with the doctor, Jade had cleaned herself up. She was dressed neatly, bandaged her wounds, and quickly tidied the shattered vase, making the room look spotless again.

Chapter 32
If it weren’t for the sound of the vase breaking earlier, everyone might have thought they were imagining things.
“Mom, I’m sorry for worrying you,” Jade said, head down, then glanced at the doctor. “You can go now.”
But the doctor didn’t move, waiting for Brooke to speak.

Brooke’s expression was inscrutable. After a moment, she addressed the doctor. “I’m sorry to bother you so late. Everything’s fine now. You should head home and rest.”
Once all the unneeded people left, Brooke took Jade out into the living room, where everyone’s eyes turned toward her.
Jade had no idea how she had been brought back, but seeing her family’s serious faces, especially the unmasked fury on Franklin’s, made her heart race.
How dare you show your face?” Franklin’s voice was cold and disappointed. “After raising you all this time, I never imagined you’d have so little decency. You don’t deserve to be the daughter of the Turner family.”
Jade’s heart sank. ‘Is he really going to kick me out of the Turner family?‘ Her hands tightened as she suddenly dropped to her knees, sincere and sorrowful. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking clearly and made a mistake. Please forgive me.”
Brooke’s warmth vanished, replaced by pain and disappointment. “You knew Calvert was Ash’s fiancé, yet you acted so shamelessly. It seems we can’t keep you in the Turner family.”
Both Ash and Jade were Brooke’s daughters, and Ash had always been so tolerant toward Jade. On the surface, Jade played nice, but behind the scenes, it was all manipulation.
If Jade stayed, Ash would only get hurt in the end.
People were selfish; Brooke had to protect her own flesh and blood.
Jade was in a panic now, turning to her father.
Josh remained silent, seemingly agreeing with his wife.
Jade couldn’t believe her parents wanted to kick her out. Before she could respond, Brooke softened her tone. “We’ll arrange for you to go to a university abroad and cover your tuition and living expenses. We won’t abandon you, but you shouldn’t come back. Stay and develop your life overseas.”
Jade felt like she had been struck by lightning. ‘Isn’t this the same as abandoning me? They act all righteous, but now that their biological daughter is back, they want to kick me out. How is that fair?‘
She didn’t realize that the reason the Turner family couldn’t accept her was her own repeated mistakes. All she knew was that if she was sent abroad, she’d lose her chance with Calvert forever.
Understanding this, Jade began to bang her head on the ground, not caring if she hurt herself. She bowed, sobbing uncontrollably. “Please forgive me! I was just so scared of losing you all that I did this. I really don’t want to leave.”
The sound of her head banging echoed in the hall, and her wounds were pulled, causing blood to drip on the floor as she desperately gambled for one last chance.
Seeing this, Caspian couldn’t take it anymore and rushed to stop her. “Stop! I forgive you. You’ll always be my sister.”
Seeing her bloodied forehead, Brooke’s heart softened, and she glanced at Josh.
Then Franklin spoke up.
