“You’ve done wrong and should be punished. But since it didn’t lead to a disaster, I’ll give you a chance,” Franklin said sternly.
“Thank you, Grandpa.” Jade feigned gratitude, tears welling up in her eyes.

But Franklin’s voice cut through, “If this happens again, the Turner family will disown you. You will no longer be part of us.”
When they adopted her from the orphanage, they hoped she would help Brooke and bring harmony to the Turner family, not take away what belonged to Ash. After raising her for so many years, the Turner family might still keep a spot for her if she could truly repent. Otherwise…
After raising her for so many years, the Turner family might still keep a spot for her if she could truly repent. Otherwise…
Jade’s face paled. Being disowned was far worse than being kicked out. But to stay, she gritted her teeth and promised, “Don’t worry, Grandpa. I won’t do anything stupid again.”
Everyone turned to Ash, who shrugged nonchalantly. “I don’t care.” She’d seen plenty of fake innocence, but this was the first she had seen someone who could be so ruthless to herself.
Besides, Jade’s actions hadn’t hurt her; she had backfired on Calvert, that jerk…
Ash couldn’t help but smirk slightly.
Seeing Ash’s indifference, Brooke finally looked away and agreed to give Jade another chance.
The farce ended, and the Turner family returned to their usual calm. The next day, Jade acted as if nothing had happened.

Meanwhile, the Snider Manor was anything but peaceful.
“Mr. Snider, every bead in this bracelet contains a pill,” Marsh Wheatly, a man in a lab coat said excitedly, staring at the colorful pills on the lab table.
Calvert glanced at the various pills, his tone icy. “Is there an antidote?”
Marsh, while placing one of the pills into an analyzer, replied, “If I’m correct, this one is.”
Calvert’s patience wore thin. “If it’s harmless, give it to me.”
With a beep, the machine stopped, and Marsh’s eyes sparkled. “This is it.”
Calvert took it, examining Marsh who looked a bit different from usual, ready to swallow it. He was curious to see what this 3.5 million dollars was really worth.
“Stop!” Marsh exclaimed, panic in his eyes. “Mr. Snider, are you poisoned?” He quickly checked Calvert, then pulled back his hand. “I can fix this little issue for you, but don’t waste that pill.”
Carefully, he returned the pill to its glass vial as if it were a rare treasure.
Calvert smirked. ‘So he wasn’t worried about me but about the pill?‘
After securing the pill, Marsh stood and handed Calvert another pill that looked like candy, along with a cup of warm water.

Calvert accepted it without hesitation and swallowed.
Once everything was settled, Marsh pointed at the analyzer. “Mr. Snider, you’re incredible. Half of the components in this pill are unidentifiable by my machine
Calvert frowned. “Is it toxic?
“No.” Marsh exclaimed like he’d struck gold. “Not only is it non–toxic, but it also has the touch of the renowned healer, Prunella!
Calvert froze. “Prunella?”
xactly! Ever since she vanished from the medical scene five years ago, her medicines have skyrocketed in price. But due to te rarity of her materials, her medicines are like unicorns–rare and priceless”
Marsh’s eyes lit up as he stared at the pill in the vial. “This one can detoxify all poisons, and its ethicacy is intact–this is a life- saving remedy
He barely noticed Calvert’s expression as he looked at the other pills eagerly. “If these are all made by Prunella, this bracelet alone could be worth over 30 million dollars.”
Calvert stood stunned. Marsh came from a prestigious medical family and was hiding out there for reasons unknown, but his skills in medicine and pharmacy were top–notch. It could be said that he was not interested in anything else except miracle drugs and difficult illnesses.
It was clear he wasn’t lying today.
Calvert had thought Ash was a fraud, but it turned out the 3.5 million dollars she mentioned referred to this antidote.
She hadn’t deceived him.
Calvert’s cold eyes flickered with something unusual–she was different from other women.
“Mr. Snider, where did you get this bracelet? Do you have more?” Marsh, after verifying two more pills, was completely beside himself. “Every one of these pills is from Prunella.”
Calvert’s deep–set eyes widened. ‘She actually parted with the entire bracelet… Does she not realize its value, or does she truly not care?
Remembering the 700 thousand dollars he initially offered, it made sense why she had dismissed it. Calvert thought inwardly, I’ve underestimated her.
“If we can find Prunella, perhaps Grandma’s illness…” Calvert turned to Marsh, who was still fixated on the pills.
“Maybe it’s worth a shot,” Marsh said, suddenly catching on to his thoughts, and turning into a fanboy. “If you find her, you
must let me meet her.”
Calvert remained noncommittal. “Keep the remaining pills safe, analyze their effects, and send me the results.” Marsh agreed eagerly. Even if Calvert hadn’t said anything, he would have done it. It had been a long time since he encountered a remedy that excited him, and he wouldn’t miss the chance to study it.
Even wealthy families required their daughters to make sacrifices. Although her situation had improved since returning to the Moreno family, she couldn’t shake off the bitterness of Ash who had taken her place for so long.

Chapter 33
Kin
‘Isn’t it just about pulling in money to help the family business? If she can do it, so could me, thought Samantha.

However, after wandering for a while, she realized she couldn’t distinguish between the rich and the poor. Suddenly, someone came to mind. As one from one of the four prominent families in Riverstone, Ms. Turner has been willing to befriend me, so surely she wouldn’t hesitate to introduce a few friends, right?”
Samantha couldn’t help but admire her own cleverness. She took out her phone, found the woman she had added at the entrance of Dream Couture, and after a moment of thought, sent a message.
“Samantha, you’ve become even prettier since we last met.” A familiar male voice rang in her ear.
Samantha turned to see him, initially wanting to walk away but quickly held back. ‘If someone like Jewel can be supported by a wealthy man, why can’t I seek out the rich too?‘
