The barrage of accusations caught Calvert off guard. He scoffed, “Sharp–tongued.”
Ash raised an eyebrow in triumph. After so many exchanges, she finally felt like she’d won.
When the car stopped outside Shadow Ventures, Ash turned to get out. “Please pick me up at five to take me back to the Turner family.” Without waiting for a reply, she walked straight into the company.
Calvert watched her retreating figure, suddenly realizing that she had entered the heavily secured Shadow Ventures without any issue. ‘Who exactly is she?‘
Inside the company, Ash took the exclusive elevator straight to the top floor.
“Good morning, Ms. Turner,” a man in a black suit said as he stood up from the sofa, handing her the monthly report.
Ash accepted it and flipped through the pages. Soon, a satisfied smile appeared on her face. “This month’s profit is up three percent from last month. Not bad.”
Despite being nearly ten years older than Ash, William Mallin said respectfully. “Ever since you ordered the halt of investments in the Moreno and Ford families, the company hasn’t faced significant losses and has remained profitable.”
Seeing Ash silent, he handed her two more reports and continued, “These are the reports for the Moreno and Ford families. After we pulled out, the Moreno family is on the brink of bankruptcy, while the Ford family is still holding on. What are your thoughts on these two companies, Ms. Turner?”
Given Ash’s previous unconditional support for them, William was uncertain about her current stance.
