“I’ve found someone for the bodyguard job, so you guys don’t need to worry about it,” Ash said, a bright smile lighting up her face. Having a family like this, she felt truly lucky.
Brooke, relieved to see Ash safe and sound, slowly relaxed her tense nerves.
“You don’t need to worry; I can take care of myself,” Ash reassured Brooke, not wanting her to stress too much.
The warm scene of family togetherness stabbed at Jade’s heart, who had just returned.
Seeing that no one noticed her, she quietly stepped back a few paces, turning to leave and clear her head. After her previous mistakes, she didn’t want to show her face in front of this family so she often chose to avoid them.
She had mentally prepared herself for this moment, but seeing in unfold made her heartache. Even though she knew she was adopted, before Ash showed up, she was the cherished little girl in this family.
Jade clenched her fists, feeling a mix of self–mockery and madness. ‘Why does she come back?‘
Ash glanced at the door where Jade was heading out but quickly looked away. It wasn’t her style to meddle.
“The Snider family gave me a car, but I feel it’s a bit much,” she said, turning to Brooke. “What do you think we should do about it?” She deliberately shifted Brooke’s focus, not wanting her to dwell on the attack.
Brooke turned to her, frowning. “It’s my fault for not thinking about it. I can’t let others think you don’t have a car.” With that, she pulled out her phone and called the butler to buy Ash a car.
And then, she asked, “Ash, what color do you like?”
Ash was taken aback. ‘Is that the main point? I don’t want to owe the Snider family anything!
Not getting an immediate response, Brooke assumed Ash was just indecisive and continued, “Let’s order one of each color that regular girls like. It’ll be nice for you to match your outfits.”
Ash was stunned. ‘Is this how the rich waste money?‘
Though she had money, she rarely spent it on luxury items, mostly using it for herbal medicine.
Brooke’s plan left her speechless.
Franklin walked in and, upon hearing about the gift from the Snider family, nodded indifferently. “That’s not bad; it’s at least decent for Ash.”
‘Decent?‘ Ash thought, rolling her eyes. ‘Is this really the world of the wealthy?‘She usually spent money wisely, and this seemed unnecessary. “No need to waste money; I don’t need that many.”
Before Brooke could respond, Caspian, who had just come home, scoffed, “What a petty attitude! No one in our family just has a car. Sports cars, business cars, RVs, and vans–different cars for different occasions. Are you trying to make us look bad?”
“Shut up!” Josh snapped. “Is this how you act as an older brother Show some manners.”
Caspian stepped back, annoyed. “I’m just trying to help her understand. I’m being nice, and I get blamed for it.
As a member of the Turner family, if Ash hadn’t gotten lost, she would have been pampered like Jade.
Even though Caspian didn’t like her, she was still family.

Ash shot him a look. ‘Is this guy’s brain malfunctioning? Who talks like that when trying to be nice?‘

Despite Ash’s protests, their parents insisted, and she ended up with seven cars of different colors and types, all for the sake of “changing her mood every day of the week“.
Back in her room, Ash opened her laptop, contemplating what to give in return for all the gifts she received.
Her delicate fingers tapped the desk, and after a moment, she opened her suitcase and pulled out a brick–like laptop.
The silver–black device was plain and unadorned; someone unfamiliar might mistake it for a useless brick.
She set it on the desk, opened it, and the screen lit up with a simple display showing just one letter–Y.
Entering her special password, Ash easily accessed an international trading center. Unlike other platforms, this one wasn’t regulated by any country and operated independently.
One could post a bounty for anything one wanted, and if the price was right, it would likely be delivered to one. How the bounty was fulfilled, however, remained a mystery.
This site traded everything from precious emeralds and gold to items banned in certain countries, and even offered bounties on people’s lives…
No one knew who managed the site, but as long as there was no public outcry, the admin stayed out of it. If there was trouble, they would clear the place out.
The site had a robust security system, and no one had ever leaked personal information while trading, attracting many from high society.
When they wanted to erase evidence, all they had to do was log out, and all past transactions would vanish.
Ash moved her mouse, glancing at the treasures available, including rare artifacts once belonging to museums and top–tier luxury goods.
There were lush emerald pieces, and some antiques… but the prices were not for the faint of heart.
The Turner family didn’t seem to lack money; these treasures would just be icing on the cake.
‘What should I choose?‘ thought Aash. Suddenly, a thousand–year–old ginseng caught her eye.
Ash studied the image on the website closely–it was crystal clear. This ginseng grew in a crevice on a cliff, with medicinal value far exceeding the average.
A hundred–year–old ginseng was already rare, let alone one that was a thousand years old. The seller had chosen to auction it, starting at 10 million dollars, and it had already climbed to 13 million dollars.
Buying this ginseng as a medicinal ingredient would greatly benefit Brooke’s heart condition.
Without hesitation, Ash clicked the option for 15 million dollars she had to have this herb
But in the next second, the trading site exploded with activity.
[Isn’t that the famous international hacker Y? What’s he doing here?]
[Wow! Mr. Y, I can’t believe I’m seeing the real deal. Am I dreaming?]
[Mr. Y, I’m your biggest fan. Can we be friends?]
A flood of greetings filled the screen, and the trading site buzzed with excitement.
