In the Snider family, Dorothy sat at home admiring the photographs of the two of them. Her kind face bloomed with a smile, her eyes radiating undisguised satisfaction.
“Dean, have this photo printed and framed,” Dorothy said, her happiness evident.
Due to health issues, she couldn’t attend the banquet in person today, but the constant stream of photos coming in gave her great comfort. She thought, ‘Calvert and Ash are clearly meant for each other.‘
“Mrs. Snider, I heard that when Calvert left, Ms. Turner personally saw him off. They seemed to have a good relationship,” Dean chimed in.
Just then, the subjects of their conversation happened to return. Dorothy looked up to see Calvert’s expressionless face, betraying no emotions.
Dorothy couldn’t wait to confirm with him. “Calvert, I heard you two attended the banquet arm in arm. Is that true?”
Calvert gave a slight nod, acknowledging the truth.
With the confirmation, Dorothy’s face lit up with delight. “I’m just waiting to have my great–grandchild.”
Beside him, Vania looked furious. “Grandma, why do you all like Ash? She’s clearly not good enough for Calvert.”
“You called her sister–in–law,” Calvert replied calmly, adding, “And you lied in public today. You’ll need to face the consequences.”
“You’re actually punishing me for that woman?” Vania shot back, indignant. She thought, ‘I was only looking out for him, so how had this turned into my fault?‘
Calvert’s tone was unyielding as he coldly explained, “This is a matter of principle. It has nothing to do with her.”
Shane quietly reminded her, “Miss, if you delay, the punishment will double.”
Vania stomped her foot in frustration, but she couldn’t argue with Calvert, so she resigned herself to her fate.
“What’s going on with Vania?” Dorothy asked, puzzled. Vania had never seemed fond of Ash.
To keep Dorothy’s mood stable, Calvert refrained from revealing the truth. If Dorothy found out Ash was selling herself for money… He shuddered to think how furious she would be.
The next day, Ash woke up early, took out her drawing board, and began sketching designs. With her exceptional drawing skills, it wasn’t long before a series of ingeniously crafted designs appeared before her.
After a rough calculation, she realized these designs could cover a month’s worth of sales for Dream Couture.
She selected a few she was particularly satisfied with and began refining them, resulting in even more exquisite clothing designs.
After packing the sketches, Ash stood up, ready to deliver them to the Dream Couture store.
Dream Couture was an international brand that boasted many designers. Currently, only gowns worth over two million dollars were designed by her, and these sketches were confidential, not to be leaked before the garments were released.
But her bodyguard still hadn’t arrived.
Glancing out at the large tree outside, Ash opted to climb over the wall again.

Just then, Jade’s phone rang. When she checked, the caller ID read “Gardener.”
Jade. Ash just climbed over the wall again. I thought you should know.” Denton’s voice came through.

“Thanks, Denton. Please don’t tell anyone else. I’m worried this might harm Ash’s reputation if it gets out,” Jade replied in a soothing tone, sounding very friendly.
“Don’t worry, I’ll only share this with you. No one else will know,” Denton assured her, then added, “Jade, you’re too kind. You always think of others. I really don’t think Ash can compare to you at all.”
Jade feigned concern and slowly said, “Ash is my sister. Please don’t say that. It wouldn’t be good if the family heard you.”
Hearing that, Denton said nothing further, but he felt a sense of pity for her. “In my eyes, you’re the true heiress of the Turner family
Jade smiled slightly, bid him farewell, and turned to leave.
Back in her room, she changed her expression, her face darkening.
Jade thought. Why go over the wall when she could use the front door? What secrets was that bitch hiding?‘
She dialed a private detective agency. “Help me track someone and report her whereabouts for today, I’ll double your pay.”
Having already climbed over the wall, Ash moved quickly. Since she had sent a message in advance, Madeline was waiting outside.
“Why do you sneak out of your own house like a thief? What’s the fuss?” Madeline asked, puzzled.
Ash replied nonchalantly, “Last time, I witnessed someone being murdered, and my dad found out. He insists I take two bodyguards with me whenever I go out.”
“Then just take them. Climbing over the wall is such a hassle,” Madeline said.
“I haven’t found suitable candidates yet, so climbing is easier,” Ash said.
Madeline pressed the gas pedal, and with the roar of the engine, the car shot away from the Turner family.
She dropped Ash off at the Dream Couture and then drove off.
Bailey had been waiting at the door, dressed in professional attire, her demeanor impeccable, and her smile just right.
Once Ash was inside, Bailey dropped her facade. “You finally made it! The clients have been busy with haute couture lately. Have you finished your designs?”
“I brought them,” Ash said, lifting the bag in her hand. “I just came to check on the store.”
“Everything is as usual,” Bailey reported. “The reports and revenue interests are in the usual place. Do you want to take a look?”
“No, I came to let you know that I’ve taken over a company, so I might not have time to come by for a long time. Please take care of things at the store with Tracy.”
Trusting her good friend, Ash knew she could count on Bailey.
“You’re starting a new company?” Bailey asked.
“It was a gift from my family, just something to practice on and to put their minds at ease,” Ash said.
