Ash turned around and rushed outside, but by the time she reached the door, the large tree was already empty, with only a car speeding away nearby.
They were pretty good at evading detection, but unfortunately, they encountered her.
Ash forced a smile, got the car keys from Bailey, then hopped into her car and sped off in the direction the other car had
gone.
In the car ahead, the man driving nervously said to the person in the passenger seat, “Mr. Ford, she’s coming after us. What should we do?”
Tristan smirked, “We want her to follow. Just stick to the plan and head to the place I mentioned earlier.”
Earlier, Samantha had claimed to be an employee here, but despite watching for days, Tristan hadn’t seen her show up until today. He was determined to seize this opportunity.
Ash followed closely, only to find that the car seemed to be heading towards Shadow Ventures.
Ash raised an eyebrow and slowed down a bit.
However, to her surprise, the car in front also reduced its speed, seemingly waiting for her to catch up.
They were intentionally luring her out.
Since they were going to her company, Ash wasn’t worried at all. After a moment’s thought, she pressed the gas again. She wanted to see what this person was up to.
In the coffee shop downstairs from Shadow Ventures, private investigator Frankie Dyer studied the photos in his hands, his gaze fixed on the company building.
Suddenly, his eyes landed on a cute–looking electric vehicle. Frankie thought, ‘My boss was right. That woman would indeed come here.
He snapped a photo and sent it to his client.
Meanwhile, at home, Jade stared at the photo in her hand, a glint of coldness in her eyes.
When the detective agency told her they lost the target, she immediately thought of Shadow Ventures. Jade thought, “That bitch was sneaking out to meet her sugar daddy! Ash really did have a benefactor, someone from Shadow Ventures.”
At the entrance of the company, Tristan stepped out of the car and glanced back toward Ash.
Ash was speechless. She thought it was an enemy from before trying to make trouble for her, but it turned out to be her ex- boyfriend. She turned the steering wheel to leave.
“Jewel, we have been together for many years. Do you bear to ignore me?” Tristan blocked her path.

Ash frowned, her tone sharp. “Did you think about our feelings when you were in bed with Samantha? Did consider me at all while you were with her? It’s pretty funny for you to bring this up now.”
Tristan’s face paled. It was true that he was at fault, but he couldn’t have predicted that Shadow Ventures would suddenly pull out the investment.
Now that his parents knew it was because he broke up with Jewel that the company ended up in this state, they were all pushing Tristan to find a way to get Shadow Ventures to invest again.

But Jewel was stubborn. No matter how much he entangled himself or tried to please her, she would just lash out at him at the slightest provocation.
Tristan suddenly looked up and said firmly, “Even if I was wrong before, you shouldn’t have let Shadow Ventures withdraw. You know the company is more than just my hard work. You can’t let your grudge against me affect the whole company’s
future.”
“Oh, really?” Ash smiled sarcastically at him. “Now you understand? Shadow Ventures invested in the Moreno family and the Ford family because of my influence. Since I’m gone, why should Shadow Ventures continue to do charity work?”
“You should know that Shadow Ventures is a business investment, not a charity case.” Her voice was cold, devoid of any
emotion.
Tristan, however, was somewhat unconvinced. “Clearly, Shadow Ventures never complained about losses before. You must have said something bad about us.“-

Ash said, “That was because I was fighting for you. Did you really think I’d keep being a fool forever?”
Thinking back to when she selflessly acted as a fool, Ash felt a pang of regret. She thought, ‘How could I have been so naive, treating trash as treasure?‘
But five years ago, Tristan wasn’t like this.
Perhaps time changed people, and the man before her was now someone she could hardly recognize.
“If there’s nothing else, please get out of my way,” Ash said, urging him to leave.
Tristan’s face went pale. No wonder the projects he worked on at the company went so smoothly. It turned out Ash had been advocating for him all along.
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner that you had such a good relationship with Shadow Ventures? If I had known, I wouldn’t have broken up with you,” he said, filled with regret, his expression conflicted.
Ash could no longer listen. With a cold face, she demanded, “What do you think our five–year relationship meant to you? What do you think I am?”
Tristan clearly only loved whoever had money. Ash thought, ‘How have I not seen it before?‘
“Consider it my stupidity. Now please get out of my world.” She didn’t want to look at him for another second.
But he stood there like a stubborn adhesive, blocking her car and even obstructing the cars and people around them.
Seeing Ash’s annoyance, Tristan finally said, “I can leave, but you have to agree to one condition.”
“Do you think you have any right to negotiate conditions with me?” Ash’s gaze was icy, her voice devoid of warmth. “I’ll give you three seconds to leave. If you don’t, I’m driving away.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she turned on the engine.
Ash’s actions made Tristan realize that the gentle and obedient woman he once knew was completely gone. She truly had no feelings for him left at all.
But for the sake of the company, he couldn’t leave today. Thankfully, he had prepared for this.
He waved his hand, and a group of people quickly rushed over, forming a circle in front of her car. They were men and women of all ages, looking more like paid spectators than security personnel.
A flicker of annoyance crossed Ash’s mind as she struggled to understand how the man who once promised to always protect her had turned into this disgusting version of himself.

Taking a deep breath, Ash finally chose to get out of the car. She could ignore Tristan, but she couldn’t harm a group of innocent people.
“Now tell me, what do you really want?” Ash felt her patience wearing thin and struggled to suppress her anger.
“You’re coming into the company with me. There are people waiting for you inside.” With that, Tristan led the way.

Ash looked at the entrance of Shadow Ventures, a smirk creeping onto her lips. Although she didn’t know what his plan was, once she was on her territory, it would be easy to deal with him.
As soon as she entered the company, Ash sent a message to William: [Evacuate everyone in the reception area. No unauthorized personnel allowed near.]
