Seeing Calvert’s imposing figure walk towards the two people who had just walked out of the interrogation room, the chief finally felt a sense of relief. If he wasn’t mistaken, the woman who had just come out seemed to be his fiancée.

Calvert’s voice was cold as he replied, “At the auction.”
He stared at the impatient woman in front of him with a mocking expression. She showed nothing but annoyance towards him, yet smiled brightly at other men. It seemed she didn’t even realize her own position.
Ash looked confused. Remembering the auction, she recalled him saying that if she needed money, she could come to him and not seek anyone else. “I didn’t ask anyone else for money.”
Watching Ash being dragged away by Calvert, William’s expression darkened with anger. However, when he caught her glance signaling him to leave, he reluctantly got into the car. Still, he couldn’t shake the worry of letting his boss be around someone like that.
Calvert noticed William lingering and let out a cold snort. “You promise me one thing on the surface but you’re hanging on to him behind my back. You are really good at this!”
After saying that, he turned and got into the car with an indifferent expression.
He had followed Ash here, only to witness her boldness in talking to another man right in front of him.
Ash stood there, at a loss for words. It turned out that Calvert had misunderstood her relationship with William. They were simply friends and colleagues. She couldn’t figure out what Calvert was thinking.
Having just arrived outside, Ash glanced at the remote police station and pulled out her phone to call a taxi.
“Mrs. Turner, get in my car. I’ll drive you home.” William had already gotten out of the car and offered.
Seeing that she couldn’t get a taxi, Ash happily accepted and turned to walk with him toward the car.
