Ash had just arrived downstairs when she met an unexpected person.
“Hello, Ash,” Dwayne greeted her as he walked over. “Are you free now?”

Ash raised an eyebrow in confusion. If she remembered correctly, the man in front of her was Calvert’s friend. They had sat at the same table at the bar before.
“I’m not free,” she replied flatly. Calvert had just brought a major issue to the company, and at that moment, she didn’t want to see anyone or anything related to him.
Surprised by her cold response, Dwayne stepped closer and stood in front of her, undeterred. “Are you interested in going somewhere with me?”
“No.” Ash walked past him without the slightest interest.

Dwayne, left standing there, felt a bit helpless. she was Calvert’s fiancée, her personality was just as bold and fierce as his.
He lifted his gaze to glance at the off
building of Shadow Ventures, unable to believe that this stunning and arrogant woman could be playing the role of a mistress here.
“Calvert wants to talk to you. Are you sure you don’t want to go?” he called out to Ash who was striding away.
Since Calvert didn’t stop him, it meant he tacitly approved of him seeking her out. Calvert probably wouldn’t mind the excuse he used either.
Ash’s eyes flashed with contemplation. Since that day of the cold war, she and Calvert hadn’t been in touch at all. She wondered if he wanted to talk to her about the land issue concerning Shadow Ventures.
After a few seconds, she stopped and said in a clear voice, “Okay.”
At the Moreno family residence, Samantha, looking refreshed after washing up, came downstairs and sat between her
parents.
In her mind, it didn’t matter if she couldn’t send Ash to prison, her parents still had to rely on her to bring in investments.
Thinking of this, the exhaustion on her face faded, replaced by a look of pride. She deliberately kept quiet and waited for her parents to ask her.
As expected, the anxious Dexter couldn’t hold back and asked, “Samantha, who was the investor you mentioned before? Do you have any specific information?”
Samantha kept them in suspense and finally revealed under her parents‘ gaze. “It’s from one of the four major families in Riverstone. Someone has agreed to invest in our company.”
“The four major families?” Dexter’s face lit up with joy. He had initially worried it was someone unimportant. “I didn’t expect you to know anyone from them. Who is it?”
“I won’t reveal the name just yet,” Samantha paused before adding, “You just need to wait to receive the investment.”
“Just as expected of our biological daughter, Samantha, you’re indeed amazing!” Lorelei praised, her earlier displeasure finally fading away.
In these three days, it was not that they did not have the ability to bail out Samantha, but neither of them could bring themselves to do so. They decided to let her stay for three days as a warning, knowing there would be no serious consequences, and that she would just be waiting at home for the next two years.

“Of course, with both of you being so outstanding, I’m naturally not bad either, Samantha said.
Looking at his daughter’s confidence, Dexter, who was originally skeptical, gradually believed her. “Then I’ll be waiting for your good news. But the company can’t hold on much longer, so I hope your friend comes through quickly

She took out her phone and looked at her friends list on WhatsApp, clicking on a contact in “Favorites“. It had been three days, and that man with the surname Shelton hadn’t messaged her.
After opening the chat box, Samantha smiled and sent a cute emoji.
At the Snider Group, Dwayne drove Ash to the ground floor and then sent a message to Calvert: [Your fiancee is downstairs. Come and pick her up.]
After that, he pointed at the entrance of the company. “This is where Calvert works. You can just go in.”
He had seen their fighting abilities with his own eyes, so in this situation, it was better for him to leave first to avoid being accidentally hurt.
Ash nodded and walked directly toward the Snider Group building.
“Miss, wait a minute,” the receptionist on the first floor called out to her. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to see Calvert Snider,” Ash replied.
The receptionist, Kamari Witt, sized up the woman standing before her. Ash was dressed in a simple T–shirt and jeans, exuding an ethereal charm with her clear eyes and strikingly beautiful face. She looked like a college student fresh out of school.
Kamari couldn’t help but wonder if this woman had come to make an impression on Calvert.
Feeling a twinge of regret, her tone lost its earlier politeness as she asked, “Do you have an appointment?”
“No,” Ash replied.
Upon hearing this response, the smile on Kamari’s face vanished completely. Though the woman’s clothes were clean and tidy, there were no visible brand labels, and her shoes were just simple canvas sneakers. It was clear she wasn’t wealthy. Kamari became more convinced that her earlier guess was correct.
Ignoring her, Kamari turned around and returned to her desk.
Ash frowned slightly and remained polite. “Could you please tell me where Calvert Snider is?”
“There are at least 800 people who want to climb into our CEO’s bed just because they have a good–looking face.” Kamari sneered, her tone dripping with disdain.
She didn’t even glance at Ash and spoke with a tone full of sarcasm, “I’ve seen many people like you. Rather than wasting time trying to inquire about our CEO’s whereabouts, you’d be better off finding someone else. He’s selective and doesn’t just accept anyone.”
“What do you mean?” Ash’s eyes turned cold. She thought that the people in Calvert’s company were as annoying as he was.
“Don’t you understand?” Kamari rolled her eyes at her. “Let me remind you out of kindness. Mr. Snider has a fiancée. She’s Miss Jade Turner from the Turner family. If she finds out about what you’ve done, she’ll definitely make you suffer.”

Ash turned around and saw Calvert’s perfect handsome face.
