Chapter 94
Chapter 94
The Snider Group.
Shane quickly walked into the office and reported the latest news, “Mr. Snider, Shadow Ventures contacted the media to investigate Riverstone’s Commercial Area. They hired a group of people to reminisce about its prosperous times. They launched an online poll and chose Riverstone’s Commercial Area as the most modern commercial city. To top it off, they bought many fake online reviewers.

“Currently, the widespread message calls for a fair and transparent bid for Riverstone’s Commercial Area. The media claims this is the only way it will become the most unique business.”
Calvert had just ended a meeting. He pinched the bridge of his nose and said coldly, “A fair bid? Fair and transparent? Do they think the bid can be won just like that?”
He sneered. Shadow Ventures seemed quite confident.
“Mr. Snider, currently, Shadow Ventures has also issued a call for everyone to apply to participate in Riverstone’s Commercial Area’s upcoming development and planning. Once applications are accepted, shares will immediately be divided.” Shane now felt that they had really underestimated Shadow Ventures.
Calvert nodded and looked at Shane. “So, what plan have you come up
with?”
“Currently, we’ve chosen to deal with it conservatively. Shadow Ventures is successfully building momentum. If we adopt the same method, it will only play into our hands. We’re still improving the plan.”
Shane paused and added, “The proposal has been sent to your email. In addition, the head of the National Therapy Centre in Bonver will arrive at Riverstone’s Commercial Area in the afternoon. He wants to meet you to discuss a partnership.”
“The National Therapy Centre? I remember our meeting was scheduled for next Monday.” Calvert narrowed his eyes and smiled coldly.
Before Shane could reply, Calvert frowned slightly and immediately relaxed. “I can meet him, but Riverstone’s Commercial Area is the priority.”
“Shadow Ventures has a big client who is renewing his contract at an agreed time. Think of a way to mess it up. It’s best if they work with us directly.” Calvert opened his eyes and looked out of the floor–to–ceiling window.
Shane was speechless. Calvert was really too concerned about this piece of land. He was treating it like the company’s grand project.
The Turner family.
“Baby, can you go shopping with me today?” Brooke knocked on Ash’s door. Seeing that the door was ajar, she stuck her head through the gap to look and realized the room was empty. Her daughter had long disappeared.
Brooke was puzzled. She pushed the door open and looked everywhere. Then, she went to look on the balcony and confirmed that Ash was gone.
“Baby, where did Ash go?” Brooke went downstairs and bumped into Josh, who had just returned. “She was here at noon. How did she disappear again in the blink of an eye?”
Josh was just passing by to pick up a document. When he heard Brooke’s voice, he looked up. “She has her own things to do. Don’t worry. Ash isn’t a child anymore.”
When Brooke heard this, she could not help but feel a little sad. “Baby, why do you think she’s suddenly an adult? It wasn’t easy for her to return home to us, and she will get married soon…”
“Don’t think too much. Our daughter will always be our little girl. It doesn’t matter if she’s married or not. Besides, our two

families live quite close, so she can always come back every day to spend time with you,” Josh noticed his wife’s gloom and quickly put down the document in his hand. He approached her and put his arm around her shoulder to gently comfort
her.
Brooke leaned into her husband’s arms. Her voice was gentle as she silently made up her mind. “I want to treat Ash twice as well in the future. I want to make up for everything that I’ve missed!”
Someone sneezed nearby.
Ash sneezed firmly. She wiped her nose with tissue and said in a muffled voice, “Who’s thinking about me?”
“Boss, does a sneeze mean that someone is thinking about you? Maybe they’re talking bad about you?” William joked while rubbing the bridge of his nose.
She snorted. “Alright, then, someone is talking bad about me. Our plan worked well. Our post has only been up for less than half a day, but nearly 20 thousand comments on the official website support us acquiring Riverstone’s Commercial Area.”
Ash’s voice was light as she looked down. “Based on the current progress, I’m more confident we can get Riverstone’s Commercial Area.
“Calvert’s power can’t be underestimated. I reckon they’ve already come up with a way to deal with it. We have to be more careful in the next few days. Also, get the Public Relations Department to do their best to unintentionally announce Shadow Ventures‘ charitable activities in recent years.”
From Ash’s point of view, the Snider Group and Shadow Ventures were no longer competing for power. Instead, they were testing whose marketing methods were stronger.
William replied gently, “Boss, a client is coming later. Do you want to meet him?”
She shook her head and glanced at her watch. She had snuck out three hours ago. If she did not go back home, she would probably be exposed. “No, you can handle the company’s matters.”
“There’s another option. Once the Snider Group takes action, activate Gamma Choice immediately. Remember, pay attention to the Snider Group’s every move at all times. We must get Riverstone’s Commercial Area.” Ash’s eyes were filled with determination.
It didn’t matter that Calvert was her opponent. She was not afraid and had to do what was necessary.
Ash sneaked back into the Turner family home and bumped into Brooke. She was about to find an excuse, but Brooke did not ask questions. “Darling, a set of clothes I ordered for you last month has arrived.”
“Do you want to try them on?” Brooke and her husband discussed giving Ash as much privacy and trust as possible. There were some things that they would not ask Ash unless she told them.
Ash was a little surprised. She could not tell what was going on from Brooke’s expression. She thought, ‘Does Brooke not know that I had gone out? Or was she pretending not to know?”
Ash shook her head lightly, considering how Brook was such a doting mother who adored her in every way. Ash realized she didn’t have to think so much.
“Okay, thank you, Mommy.” She held Brooke’s arm and softened her voice. “As long as you bought it, I know it will suit me perfectly.”
These words made Brooke overjoyed. She could not hide the joy on her face. “Ash, you’re such a sweet talker.”
Suddenly, Brooke thought of something and turned to look at Ash. “By the way, the family gathering is in the middle of next month. Should I invite Calvert to join us?” Brooke patted the back of her daughter’s hand.
Ash frowned imperceptibly. As one of four major families, it was normal for the Turner family to have this so–called big

family gathering. However, she thought an outsider like Calvert didn’t need to come to a family gathering.
While Ash was in doubt, Brooke had already replied, “Your grandfather likes crowds. He hopes that as many people as possible can participate in the family gathering every year. If I remember correctly, he’s going to race this year.

“I remembered Calvert has a racing license and seems to have won many awards. Our extended family has many relatives, but our nuclear family is very small, so we were previously more or less disadvantaged.”
Ash raised her eyebrows slightly. She did not expect Calvert to be still racing. “Then let’s invite him when the time comes.”
It was just a family gathering. It was not a big deal to invite one more person. Moreover, Ash did not know if Calvert would attend.
