Calvert stood up and glanced at her coldly. “Don’t worry, I’m not that desperate.”
“….Mr. Snider, aren’t you a little too confident in yourself?” Ash snapped back.
Ash glanced at him from top to bottom and got out of the car first. As soon as she entered, Dorothy welcomed her warmly. “Ash, you’re here.”
Dorothy held her hand and said lovingly, “Why do I feel like you’ve lost weight again? Ash, did this brat bully you again?”
“Grandma, I don’t have that much free time. Besides, why would I bully her?” Calvert walked in and innocently took the blame.
Dorothy glared at him angrily and turned to look at Ash with a gentle and loving look in her eyes. “Ash, if Calvert ever does something to make you unhappy. You can tell me. I’ll support you.
“If not for his luck, this brat would have been a loner for several lifetimes with that sharp tongue.”

Upon hearing this, Ash could not help but laugh. She supported Dorothy and said, “I agree. I didn’t know you knew internet slang, too.”
“Of course. Otherwise, how can I keep up with you young people?” Dorothy smiled and pulled her to sit down. “Ash, whenever you have free time, come here more often. I have a friend who designs wedding dresses.”
At the mention of the wedding dress, Ash knew what Dorothy wanted to talk about. She looked at Calvert and said, “Didn’t you say you have something for me?”
Calvert stood at the side with one hand in his pocket. His voice was indifferent. “No, you’re hallucinating.”
She silently fumed. ‘He’s doing it on purpose! This bastard must be doing it on purpose! How could he not understand my obvious hint? Is he pretending just because of what happened in the car? How petty.‘
“You’re the one who’s hearing things. What are you thinking about?” Dorothy did not indulge Calvert at all. Without hesitation, she spoke up for Ash. “Whatever Ash says. Hurry up and go.
queen
“Ash, go ahead. I’ll call you over for dinner later. There’s no hurry. Take your time.” Dorothy could be said to be the mood changes. One second ago, she was losing her patience with Calvert. In the next second, she was chatting and laughing with Ash.
Calvert frowned slightly. He was already used to this kind of discrimination. He was forced to walk upstairs with Ash.
At the corner of the second floor, he stopped. Ash’s head was lowered and she bumped into his back. She hissed, “Why did you suddenly stop?”
He turned around and lowered his head slightly to look at the beautiful face before him. His stern voice revealed his charm. “I suspect you purposely arranged this just to be alone with me.”
Ash was in disbelief. “This man thinks too highly of himself. He is too big for his boots. Where did this confidence come from? Does he really think he is the most perfect man in the world?‘
She gave him a perfunctory smile and rolled her eyes. “No way. I’m really sorry, but you’re overthinking.”
Ash would never have found an opportunity to slip away if Dorothy had not suddenly mentioned the wedding. “Enjoy yourself. We’ll meet downstairs for dinner later.”
Ash turned the tables and walked straight to the TV room at the corner. However, Calvert did not seem to understand and followed her into the room.

She couldn’t be bothered with Calvert anymore. After all, this was the Snider family home. He could’ve gone anywhere. She sat on the single sofa, held the remote control, and clicked on a movie out of boredom.
Calvert sat beside her and leaned back on the sofa. He glanced at Ash from the corner of his eye. “Are you good at computers?”
“I’m not good,” Ash answered without thinking.
It seemed he was starting to get suspicious, but it was fine. He had no substantial evidence. “What’s wrong? Are you going to start an IT class?”
“Shadow Ventures…” Calvert began.
Ash interrupted him. “If we don’t have anything to talk about, we don’t have to talk about work. I don’t like it.”
The room fell silent. Other than the sound of the movie, the two of them did not talk anymore. Ash had been busy with work and had not rested well for a few days. Coupled with the fact that the movie was very boring, she fell asleep in a short while.
When Ash woke up again, Calvert was already gone. She had switched from a sitting position and was now lying sideways with a thin blanket covering her body.
She stretched and shook off the sleepiness. She walked out of the room and bumped into Calvert, who had just finished a call.
“You should have woken up later.” Calvert put away his phone and said coldly, “Because you could have gone straight to have supper.”
Ash did not want to talk to him at all. He was sitting beside her so he could have woken her up. She looked at the time and realized only an hour had gone by. Calvert did not need to exaggerate things.
She walked past him and heard his deep voice. “Also, you have a bad sleeping posture. Wipe the saliva from your mouth.”
“Calvert, how can you be so rude?” Ash immediately raised her hand to wipe the corner of her mouth. It was indeed a little
wet.
His eyes narrowed slightly. He bent down and approached her. The two of them were so close that his warm breath sprayed on her face when he spoke. “Is telling the truth considered rude? You’re not thanking me for reminding you but giving me a lesson instead. In that case, who’s the rude one?”
Ash resisted the urge to push him away and took a step forward. The two were even closer, and their noses were almost touching. She curled her lips and said, “I can admit that I’m rude. Do you have the courage to admit it?
“Also, you should have asked yourself what you asked me before. You always act intimately. Are you trying to pique my interest?”
There was a hint of provocation in her eyes.
“What are you guys doing?” Dorothy had instructed Vania to come upstairs and call them for dinner. The moment he came up, she caught this ambiguous scene.
She was shocked at first, but then she gritted her teeth and stood between the two of them. “What are you doing in public?”
Ash and Calvert did not feel uncomfortable at all. Ash leaned against the wall and replied casually, “Are you blind? You’ve already seen what happened, so why are you still asking?”
Vania pouted unhappily. “Calvert, did you hear her.”
“What she said is the truth. You already saw us, so why are you still asking? Why are you here?” Calvert was obviously on

Ash’s side.
Ash smiled sweetly at the angry Vania, “I’ll go down. You two siblings can take your time and chat. I won’t disturb you anymore.”
“You!” Vania was angry.
“Vania, you’re the host. Where are your manners?” Before Vania could retort, Calvert’s words interrupted her, diminishing her fighting spirit.
