Chapter 97
“Oh,” Vania said reluctantly and protested softly, “Why do you give her special treatment?”
“Children shouldn’t interfere in adult matters,” Calvert warned.
He dismissed her with another sentence. No matter how unhappy Vania was, she could not say anything else. She barely said anything during the meal.
After dinner, Dorothy strongly requested Calvert escort Ash back home. If Ash were unwilling, he would stay at the family
estate.
Ash naturally chose the former. Standing in front of the car, she said, “Just pretend to go out for an hour. I’ll go home myself. Just in case you think I’m after you again.”
The next second, her phone rang. It was William. She did not hide anything and picked it up. “What’s wrong?”
“Boss, there’s a mole in the company. We suspect that we have a traitor. Our bid has been leaked.” William’s usually calm voice was shaking.
Ash calmed herself down. After all, Calvert was right in front of her. She could not expose herself. She said calmly, “I understand. I’ll come by later. Wait for me.”
Then, she hung up the phone and looked at the man in front of her. “I’ll leave now. It’s all right. Don’t let it slip to Dorothy.”
“You’re going to Shadow Ventures? That man called you again?” Calvert suddenly turned sideways and blocked her way. His words more or less had him sounding like a resentful person airing out his grievances.
Ash tilted her head slightly. “What’s wrong? This is my personal matter, right? I am not obligated to tell you. Don’t worry. Whatever you’re thinking isn’t true.”
She bypassed Calvert and took a taxi to Shadow Ventures.
“Investigate the relationship between Ash and Shadow Ventures.” After she left, Calvert organized his thoughts. His intuition told him that Ash’s position at Shadow Ventures was not as rumored.
Shane agreed and could not wait to share the good news with his boss. “Someone from Shadow Ventures took the initiative to come over today to inform us of their bidding price. Their price is indeed not much different from ours. They plan to bid just tens of thousands of dollars less than us.”
Calvert’s expression was cold. “When did you hear this news?”
“About half an hour ago, someone suddenly contacted me with an unknown number. The voice was also processed. This person said this was a goodwill gesture,” Shane answered truthfully.
Shane pondered for a few seconds and said coldly, “We’ve investigated the informant’s identity and the relationship between Ash and Shadow Ventures.”
Ash had deliberately concealed her identity in Shadow Ventures. Even if Shane searched through all the available data, he could not find anything. In the end, he only gave Calvert the identity of the informant.
Shadow Ventures.
Everything was progressing fast. After arriving at the company, Ash first recovered the surveillance footage. It took almost two hours to find out the identity of the informant.
“The informant was an assistant in Group A for Riverstone’s Commercial Area. He’s been in the company for quite some time. Although he wasn’t an outstanding employee, he was quite pragmatic. Do you think the Snider Group paid him off?”

Ash shook her head thoughtfully, “Calvert wouldn’t do such a thing. He wants to take over this land quickly but won’t be s despicable.”
Hearing this, William’s eyes darkened a little, but his expression remained the same. “Boss, you sound like you know him very well. You two… are working well together now?”
“No, I have no reason to cooperate with him. He has a noble and arrogant personality, so he would not use such a method. Investigate this informant’s recent movements in detail, including his family situation” Ash lowered her eyes. These tough battles were really difficult to get through.
However, this did not change anything. She had to get the Riverstone’s Commercial Area deal
Once something happened, there would always be a continuous stream of calls, Just as Ash had sorted out Shadow Ventures issues, Bailey called the next morning to say that prestigious clients had asked for refunds over the past few days.
Ash hung up the phone and felt a headache coming on. She reckoned she must not have looked at the calendar properly because this wouldn’t have happened. It was a stroke of bad luck,
“Alright, that’s all. I’ll stop talking now. My sister is awake, I’m going to have breakfast with her Ash tidied up and prepared to go to Dream Couture to investigate the situation.
When she went downstairs, she saw Brooke on the phone. She waved at her and smiled. Jade also hung up the phone after a few words.
Brooke was wearing a jade green gown that Ash had designed last time. She looked elegant and graceful, displaying her temperament vividly.
“Ash, didn’t you want to visit the Arcade Enterprise last time? I happen to be free today. Shall I take you with me?” Brooke was about to speak when Lachlan suddenly appeared and beat her to it.
Ash looked past her mother and saw Lachlan giving her a look. She immediately understood and agreed without consideration. “Thank you, Lachlan. But, I don’t want to take up your time.”
Lachlan smiled and shook his head. He always looked gentle. “I’m your brother. You’re not taking up my time. Your business is my business. Let’s go. I’ll take you out for breakfast. There’s a cafe nearby. You’ll like it.”
There was a tacit secret between the two, so Ash clearly now felt that she and Lachlan had a close and harmonious relationship.
A smile appeared on her angelic face. “Thank you, Lachlan.”
“Mom, I’ll go out with Lachlan. I won’t be having breakfast with you.” Ash’s tone was gentler when she spoke to her mother.
Brooke saw that the siblings were getting along harmoniously. It looked as if they were putting on a show, but she felt an indescribable joy in her heart. “Alright, go do your thing. If anything happens, find your brother.”
Lachlan explained to Ash, “I’ve arranged for someone to talk to Calvert about a collaboration to try to distract him for as long as possible. This collaboration requires a business trip.” Lachlan had spent a lot of effort to find this person.
Ash nodded and glanced sideways at her brother. “Thank you. Someone who can make Calvert go on a business trip to discuss cooperation is not ordinary. Lachlan, you’ve done well.
“The online marketing plan had a great response last time. Should we hire some media outlets on the bidding day?” Ash suddenly had a good idea. “Or let the netizens call for the government to be transparent in this bidding evaluation?”
Lachlan thought about it seriously for a moment. “It’s not impossible, but Ash, if everything is made public, getting this piece of land will be good. However, some subsequent operations will be harder to carry out.
“If everything is transparent. There will be pros and cons. I’m just giving you a suggestion. The final decision is up to you.

Also, I heard that the Snider Group’s stakeholders don’t really approve of Calvert spending so much effort on the Riverstone Commercial Area. I think this is one way to enter the situation.”
She nodded thoughtfully and stared into the distance. Then, she smiled calmly. “I have an idea. Thank you, Lachlan.”
