Chapter 751 A Lovely Name
“Call the police?” Felix smiled as if he’d heard something absurd. He was amused.
“This is Aetherland. Who do you think they’ll side with? Us or their own people? Do you want to end up in jail?”
“But…” Meryl shifted uncomfortably.
“If you involve the police, they might deport you back to Cavaria. Is that what you want?”
Meryl paused before asking, “Wasn’t it self–defense?”
“You might see it that way, but would the police? And do you have any evidence to prove it?” Felix said.
Meryl fell silent.
“Trust me on this. I have experience handling these situations.” Felix reassured her.
Meryl didn’t argue further. After all, Felix had just saved her and her son’s lives. She could hardly seem ungrateful
“But Casey just helped me rent this house. Where am I supposed to go now?” she asked.
“Stay with me, of course,” Felix said. Noticing her slow pace, he

gently took the baby from her arms,
The infant drifted between sleep and wakefulness, finally settling into a peaceful slumber.
Felix cradled the child with surprising expertise. As they walked, he murmured, “My son is really cute,”
Meryl was speechless.
After a 20–minute drive, they pulled up to a villa,
Two imposing bodyguards, both well about 6 feet 2 tall, stood at attention by the entrance, their presence immediately conveying a sense of security.
Felix gestured for Meryl to step out. “You will live here from
now on.”
“This is…” Meryl hesitated.
“Our marital home. Take a look and see if you like it.”
Meryl didn’t bother responding. She’d grown accustomed to his playful declarations.
A servant in her thirties, with long hair, greeted them inside. She welcomed Meryl in halting Cavarish and offered her a pair of clean slippers.
Meryl’s curiosity suddenly peaked about Felix’s unexpected appearance in Aetherland.

She turned to study him. “How’s your injury?”
Felix lowered his gaze, feigning hurt. “Sweetie, you only just remembered I was injured?”

After her near–death experience, Meryl could hardly be blamed for having other things on her mind.
“Aetherland has the best sanatoriums,” Felix explained. “What better place to recuperate?”
And more importantly, you’re here.
His mischievous smile returned. “Don’t worry. I’m not nearly as frail as you think. I won’t disappoint on our wedding night.”
Meryl ignored his comment and began exploring the villa.
“Well? Does it meet your approval?” Felix asked. “With me in town, no one will dare trouble you.”
Meryl felt uncomfortable about living in Felix’s house.
However, her priority had to be safety for both her and her son. At least here, they would be protected.
“All right, but I’ll rent it. I’ll take just one room and pay monthly.”
Felix frowned as if offended. “Do I look like I need that pittance?

“If you really want to repay me, you could always consider marrying me.”
Meryl shot him a glare.

“You’ve left Chandler,” Felix pressed. “Don’t tell me you’re still thinking about him.”
Meryl shook her head slightly. Romance was the last thing on her mind.
She’d come abroad to pursue her cello studies, build a good life, and raise her son. Relationships weren’t necessary.
“I’ll pay rent monthly,” she insisted. “If you don’t agree, I’ll leave
now.”
Felix ran his tongue along his cheek. He hadn’t expected such stubborn resistance to his hospitality.
Lounging back on the couch with the baby in one arm, his other ́ hand behind his head, he projected an air of casual indifference.
Though inexperienced in courtship, he recognized that Chandler had left deep emotional scars, making Meryl defensive against any new relationship.
But Felix wasn’t worried. He had time and patience in abundance.
“Fine, you can rent it,” he conceded. No one had ever dared haggle with him like this. Oddly, he was not annoyed.

Meryl studied Luna carefully.

Luna promptly produced several certificates from her apron pocket, smiling as she displayed her childcare credentials. “You can trust me with the little one,” she assured Meryl in broken Cavarish.
Meryl studied Luna carefully. The servant’s tanned face was warmed by dimpled smiles, giving her a gentle, kindhearted appearance. Her credentials were impeccable, and being Felix’s employee, her character was undoubtedly trustworthy.
“All right,” Meryl agreed softly. “You can help care for him.”
Luna gathered the baby in her arms. “What a precious child. Does he have a name yet?”
Meryl shook her head. Though her son was several weeks old, he remained unnamed.
During her pregnancy, she’d considered various options but hadn’t settled on any.
She’d planned to wait until the birth, hoping Chandler would want to name their child.
But he’d shown no interest, refusing to even hold his own son.

Felix caught the sadness that crossed Meryl’s face.
He frowned and glanced at the sleeping infant. “Since I saved both your lives, why not let me name him?”
Meryl looked up in surprise.
“Lucas,” Felix suggested. “Louie for short. What do you think?”
Lucas, meaning light and sun, symbolized new beginnings and bright futures.
Meryl found herself smiling. Lucas Stone. It was, indeed, a lovely name.
