When Chandler returned to his room, Meryl was sitting at the table cating spaghetti.

“Is it tasty?”
“Not bad,” she replied quickly this time.
Chandler pressed the tip of his tongue against his cheek and narrowed his eyes. “Starting tomorrow, I’ll cook for you.”
Unexpectedly, Meryl gradually wept.
Her skin was delicate, accentuating her tears. Chandler panicked. Why did she cry after he had made such a normal offer?
