“The patient is still in observation. She won’t be out for at least half an hour. She’s doing fine, but her lower limbs appear to be partially fractured. She’ll need some time to recover,” the nurse explained.
Upon hearing this, Dante finally sighed in relief.
His gaze suddenly fell on the baby in the nurse’s arms.
It was Anne’s child.
“Who’s the baby’s father? The baby was born a month premature and has aspiration pneumonia. It’ll be transferred to the neonatal unit soon. We need the father to sign,” the nurse said..
The baby looked so tiny.
As it slept, its eyes were tightly shut, yet it was easy to see that it bore a resemblance to Anne.
When Meryl heard that Anne was fine, she was also relieved.
It was just a fracture, and she would be fine after some rest. Thank goodness!

Yancey took the hint and promptly replied, “I’ll sign.”
He then followed the nurse inside.
Before they left, the nurse shot Dante a curious look and
whispered, “Is he the child’s uncle? It’s just that the baby looks a bit like him.”
The nurse spoke in a low tone, but Yancey, standing closest, picked it up, and Meryl heard it too.
