Meryl shook her head gently, but then she heard Rachel’s voice break through the tension.
“Chandler, I’m in so much pain! I think I’m disfigured!”
Chandler’s attention shifted to Rachel, and his eyes widened at the sight.
There was blood on the floor; it was unclear where she had hurt herself, but the alarming spread of bright red was enough to make anyone wince.
“Chandler, what did I do wrong? She just pushed me! I feel terrible—am I dying?” Rachel’s voice was tremulous, mixing sobs with fear as she played up her injuries.

He mused, “Meryl did that?”
He was taken aback, casting a quick glance at Meryl.
He had always viewed her as gentle, not someone who would lash out like that.

Meryl, who had been watching this unfolding drama from the top of the stairs, began to connect the dots.
She thought, “So, Rachel is playing the victim, trying to frame me?”
As she descended, Meryl called out, “She showed up out of nowhere in our home and claimed she’s sleeping in our bed. She says you invited her! Is that true?”
Meryl couldn’t believe Chandler could be so clueless, and she
trusted him not to be that thoughtless.
But how could Rachel be so brazen, coming here to provoke her?
She mused, “Speaking of which, if Chandler didn’t approve, how would Rachel know the code to our home? How did she even gett
in here?”
Meryl needed answers, so she confronted them both head–on.
Chandler glanced at Rachel, and her guilty expression didn’t escape him.
She cradled her head as she cried delicately, “Chandler, do you want to see me bleed to death?”
His attention snapped back to her.
Her face was pale, and even her lips had lost their color.

Chapter 634 Running Away from Home Chandler couldn’t just stand there while Rachel lay on the ground. “I’m calling an ambulance right now. You need to go to the hospital.”
Rachel sighed in relief, but Meryl pressed on. “Did you tell her our home code? Were you really planning on letting her move in here?”
Chandler opened his mouth to respond, but Rachel quickly interjected.
“The ambulance will take forever! Chandler, please just drive me to the hospital? I can’t wait!”
She shot a look at Meryl, her voice dripping with false
innocence.
“You’re so heartless! I only had a little argument with you, and you pushed me! You’re just delaying my treatment—you want to see me die, don’t you?”
Meryl didn’t bother defending herself; she was too stunned by Rachel’s theatrics.
Chandler’s frown deepened as he noticed Meryl’s silence. He mused, “Was it really her who pushed Rachel?”
“Meryl, just stay home and wait for me. I’ll be back soon.”
With that, Chandler supported Rachel, and they hurried out of the house together.
Watching them leave, Meryl felt a mix of emotions churning within her.

Meryl tossed the mop aside, feeling a wave of absurdity wash over her.
“Why am I the one dealing with this mess while I’m pregnant?”
Just the thought of Rachel being in their home, let alone sleeping in their bed, made Meryl sick to her stomach.

At the hospital, Rachel emerged from the emergency room, and Chandler was waiting anxiously in the hallway.
The nurse called out for family members several times before Chandler snapped back to reality.
While waiting for Rachel’s examination, his mind wandered. He had tried calling Meryl multiple times, but there was no answer.
It felt like she had blocked him.
“Is she mad at me?
But how could I ignore Rachel bleeding out on the floor?
All the evidence pointed to Meryl and Rachel having a fight, and, I needed to step up and handle the aftermath.”
“How is she?” Chandler asked the doctor.
The doctor replied, “The patient has some serious injuries, especially to her head. She has a concussion, and according to her, she’s experiencing blurred vision. There’s a risk of permanent vision loss.”
Chandler instinctively glanced at Rachel.
She lay there with her eyes gently closed, appearing almost şerene, as if she were in a deep sleep.

The nurse wheeled Rachel into a hospital room, and as Chandler realized she wouldn’t wake up anytime soon, he called Walter to come in and take over for him.
Walter had just finished an early shift and was enjoying some downtime with his girlfriend, feeling all fired up and ready to take things to the next level.
When he saw Chandler’s name pop up on his phone, he knew it was probably another mess involving Rachel.
After hanging up, Walter couldn’t help but curse under his breath, “Damn it! Is this woman ever going to quit?”
His girlfriend, glancing at his muscular frame, couldn’t help but swallow hard. “What’s going on?”
Walter threw on his clothes in a hurry.
“Some woman trying to climb into my boss‘ bed ended up in the hospital! Now my boss is off soothing his wife while I’m stuck babysitting her!”
His girlfriend wrapped her arms around him. “Can’t you just skip it? I want you here with me.”
Walter soothed her, saying, “Money talks, babe. Just wait a bit longer, and I’ll buy you a big house in Kingsdom. You don’t want to keep renting, right?”
He dreamed of giving her a stable home in the city, and with the year–end bonuses from his job, he was getting closer to that goal.

There was a pause on the line before Dante said, “What’s going on? Can’t find your wife? Well, Anne might not know where she is either. She’s been with me all day.”
Dante and Anne had arranged to take turns caring for their child, and today was Anne’s day to pick Bella up.
She was busy organizing Bella’s things and hadn’t had any contact with Meryl.
