His brows furrowed deeply, his entire demeanor filled with panic.
For the first time in years, his composure shattered.
He hadn’t seen Rachel in so long. He’d tried to stay away to protect her, but now she was like this, and it was all his fault.
Suddenly, Daniel came out of nowhere, wielding a steel pipe. He swung it with all his strength, smashing it into the back of Andy’s head.

He could tell that the man had likely been shot.

“Are we sure we’ve got everyone?” Chandler asked, scanning the faces of the captured gang members one by one.
Alvin hesitated. “It seems Daniel got away. That guy’s slippery. When he saw his crew being taken down, he avoided the back door and went straight over the wall. He’d already prepped a motorcycle on the other side.”
By the time Alvin realized and tried to chase him, Daniel was long gone.
They hadn’t anticipated the sheer number of thugs here. The

Outside, piles of dry hay, stacked 8 feet high, had been set ablaze.
A sudden gust of wind spread the fire quickly, thick smoke billowing into the sky.
It was winter, and the brittle hay caught fire easily. The flames were already spreading at an alarming pace.
Now, the priority wasn’t pursuit. It was extinguishing the flames before they got out of control.
Chandler’s thoughts raced. “Whoever that was, they’re smart. Setting the fire to buy time… Clever move.”
