Rachel, feeling unwell, was seated in a wheelchair.
The airport buzzed with noise. After receiving a call from
Chandler, Walter stepped aside and made several calls in quick
succession.
Rachel, her face pale, noticed Walter’s serious expression and asked curiously, “What’s going on?”
“Nothing.”
Walter certainly would not tell Rachel what Chandler had told him to do. He just evaded the question by saying, “Just some work matters that need immediate attention.”
Rachel glanced at the time and said, “But it’s almost time to board the plane. Why hasn’t Chandler arrived yet?”
As she spoke, she stretched her neck and looked around.
Walter remained silent, and Rachel sensed something was
wrong.
She lowered her head and murmured, “Will he still take me to Englord?”
Her voice was too soft for Walter to catch as he focused on his
calls.

Minutes later, Chandler got out of the car.

Seeing him, Walter approached immediately and said, “Mr. Aniston, I have checked several hospitals in Kingsdom, and Mrs. Aniston did not take the baby to any of them today.”
Chandler felt strange. “Then where did she go? Why can’t we reach her all of a sudden?”
Chandler didn’t give up. He grabbed his phone and called Meryl again.
But Meryl’s phone was turned off.
His expression turned grim.
He knew Meryl never turned off her phone unless it was out of battery.
But she usually brought a power bank with her.
The uneasy feeling he had when she looked at him before leaving home grew stronger.
Chandler was aware of the strain in their relationship and had been trying to mend it.
But earlier, when he had tried to hug her, she had avoided him.

He thought, “Truc. With John around, Meryl should be fine.

“Then change the ticket! If that’s not possible, refund it! Do I need to teach you such basic things?”

At that moment, Rachel called out weakly, “Chandler.”

“Aren’t you going to send me to Englord?” she asked, her eyes filled with hope.
Rachel had heard that Meryl might have returned to the Stone Villa without telling Chandler.
It was just a return trip to her parents‘ home; Rachel didn’t know why Chandler was so nervous.

Chandler said, “I am worried about Meryl. I need to check on her at the Stone Villa. You’re not well enough to travel back and forth. Walter will take you.” ·

In her eyes, Walter was a terrible man.
She couldn’t understand what his girlfriend saw in him.
At the mention of his girlfriend, Walter smiled.

As the car stopped at the Stone Villa, Chandler stepped out.
Malcolm was in the garden, playing with birds.
He was surprised to see Chandler approaching breathlessly.
Ever since the scandal at the hospital involving Sandra and Morton, Malcolm’s relationship with Lydia had cooled.
