Chapter 735 Facing the Coldness

Malcolm was startled, his heart racing as he looked up in shock.
There was no wind or rain, and the pot fell for no reason.
When he saw John standing by the window, it took him a few seconds to piece things together.
“John, are you trying to kill your father?”
Malcolm’s voice rose sharply, his face pale with disbelief.
John had been cold and distant since returning home.
Malcolm had tolerated his son’s attitude. After all, he was his only child.
But he never expected things to escalate to this point.
Malcolm’s face darkened, and he was about to unleash a torrent of anger when John shrugged casually. “Relax, old man. This wasn’t about you.”
“If it wasn’t about me, then who…”
Malcolm stopped mid–sentence, noticing John’s icy gaze fixed on Chandler, who stood below.
He suddenly realized something.
Chapter 735 Facing the Coldness-
“So you were targeting Chandler?” He looked surprised.

This made even less sense. A year ago, Chandler had gifted John a sports car, and ever since, John had been nothing but pleased with him.
Malcolm thought, “What had changed so drastically that he would now try to hit Chandler with a flowerpot?”
Before Malcolm could press further, John slammed the window shut with a loud creak, cutting off the conversation.
He glanced at Chandler, whose expression was unreadable, and felt a growing sense that something serious had happened.
“Chandler, I’ve spoiled him rotten. He’s got no sense of respect. Please don’t take it to heart,” Malcolm said with an awkward
smile.
Chandler frowned.
It was obvious John had been targeting him.
This only deepened his suspicion that Meryl’s sudden disappearance wasn’t a coincidence.
He said, “It’s getting late. I’m here to take Meryl and the child home.”
Malcolm was puzzled. “Meryl? She didn’t come to the Stone Villa today.”
Chapter 735 Facing the Coldness These words made Chandler’s face turn ugly.
Malcolm seemed sincere.
Chandler didn’t want to believe it and walked in.
But there was indeed no trace of Meryl in the Stone Villa.

Chandler found the living room empty, so he went to the rooms upstairs and searched one by one.
He searched every corner, even the servants‘ room, but he didn’t see Meryl at all.
The feeling of uneasiness in his heart became stronger and stronger, and Chandler’s heart was beating violently.
There was only one room left. Chandler stood outside John’s door and knocked twice.
Seeing no movement inside, he pushed the door open.
John was sitting at his computer, headphones on, completely absorbed in a game. The volume was so loud. He didn’t even react when Chandler intruded.
The room could be seen through at a glance, but Chandler did not give up.
He checked the bathroom and the closet, finding nothing.

“Where’s Meryl?” Chandler asked.

John didn’t respond, humming along to the game’s soundtrack
as if Chandler weren’t there.
Frustrated, Chandler strode over, yanked off John’s
headphones, and unplugged the computer.
“Where’s Meryl? Where is she?”
“What the hell!”
John snapped as the screen went black.
He was playing an online multiplayer game.
He was in the middle of a crucial match, and now he’d been disconnected.
His mood instantly soured, and his tone turned cold when he spoke to Chandler, “My sister’s your wife. You lost her. It’s your problem. Why are you asking me?”
Chandler ignored his pretense and said, “You went to the Aniston Villa today, and Harrison said that you drove her away. Where did you hide her?”
“Oh, so whatever Harrison says is gospel now?” John refused to admit it. “I haven’t left the house all day. Maybe your housekeeper’s hallucinating.”
“John Stone!” Chandler barked, his patience wearing thin.
Chapter 735 Facing the Coldness. “Where did Meryl take the child?”
The commotion drew Malcolm and Bianca to the room.
Seeing the two men on the verge of a fight, Bianca quickly intervened. “John, you left early this morning. So you went to the Aniston Villa to pick up Meryl?”

“That’s right, then how did you come back by yourself? Where is Meryl?” Malcolm also asked.
Chandler’s expression hardened.
John glared at his parents, annoyed that they’d undermined his lie.
Still, he refused to back down. “I just went out for a drive. I didn’t go to the Aniston Villa, and I didn’t see Meryl.”
Chandler had had enough. “Stop playing games. Tell me where Meryl is.”
“You already know the answer, don’t you?”
John sneered, “You had her and didn’t appreciate her. Now that she’s gone, you’re desperate. Where were you when it mattered, Chandler Aniston?”
Now, John even called him by his full name. He had gone too far!
No wonder Chandler’s eyelids had kept twitching in the

afternoon. It turned out that something bad had happened.
His face was filled with disbelief.

These days, Meryl was exceptionally calm beside him and didn’t even mention divorce again.
Chandler thought that she had finally given up the idea.
Now, he realized it had been part of her plan to leave him.
Knowing that he would not let her go easily, Meryl secretly planned to escape from him.
And it was not without reason that Meryl suddenly returned to the Aniston Villa.
There were many people in the Aniston Villa, and the security guards didn’t pay much attention to people coming in and out. By the time he noticed, she had already gone far.
The thought made his chest tighten.
He clenched his fists, thinking, “How could she leave without a
word?
Did our past happiness mean nothing to her? Is there not even a trace of love or hesitation in her heart?”
Then he thought of the child. Chandler suddenly felt like crying.
He wondered, “After all, if she had truly loved me, why would

she have kept such a secret?

She had Dalton’s child. Perhaps she had never loved me at all.”
Tears welled in Chandler’s eyes.
No! He wouldn’t let her disappear like this.
Even if she wanted to leave, she owed him an explanation.
He needed to know why she had given birth to Dalton’s child.
“Meryl,” he whispered under his breath, “you’re not getting away from me that easily.”
