Secret Admiration: Finding True Love After…
Chapter 736 Who Helps Her?
Night fell over the entire city.
Chandler’s aura was off, and his face was dark with an unsettling, ominous mood.
At this moment, the phone in his pocket rang.
“Mr. Aniston, Ms. Morgan said she doesn’t want to go to Englord, and now she’s back to…”
Before Walter could finish his sentence, Chandler coldly interrupted him, “Walter, I have something for you to do. Block all highway intersections, check the surveillance footage of all main roads, and review the check–in information of every hotel in the city. Find Meryl…”
Walter was stunned, thinking, “Get it back? Mrs. Aniston is gone?”
After all, as the chief special assistant, Walter’s sharp professionalism kicked in, allowing him to react swiftly.
The situation had to be dire–Chandler wouldn’t have mobilized such a large force otherwise.
After hanging up the phone, Chandler cast a long, piercing look at John.

If Chandler asked John directly where Meryl was, John would never tell him. After all, John helped Meryl escape in the first place.
Instead of wasting time, Chandler turned around and left the Stone Villa without asking any further questions.
The moment Chandler left, Bianca rushed over, her voice filled with concern. “John, what happened? Is Meryl gone?”
Bianca had never seen Chandler’s expression so frightening.
She said, “Meryl and Chandler had a quarrel. Why did you interfere in their matters? Did you hide Meryl?”
Bianca was very pleased with Chandler.
Not only is he good–looking, but he also possesses exceptional abilities. He holds significant power in the Galaxy Holdings Group and is the head of the Aniston family.
Bianca believed that Meryl and Chandler’s issues were just minor conflicts. They would make up soon.
Not long ago, a conflict had arisen between them, and Meryl had returned to the Stone Villa, staying there for a few days to find some peace.
Bianca couldn’t understand why Meryl ran away without even saying anything to her.
After all, she was part of Meryl’s family.

Bianca asked, “Can you tell me what’s going on?”
John put on his headphones again and said, “I know what’s going on. Don’t worry about it.”

Bianca asked, her voice steady, “Then tell me, where has Meryl gone?”
“If I tell you, won’t I be telling Chandler as well?”
“You little brat, do you still have secrets from me, your own mother?”
John fell silent, refusing to say a word, leaving Bianca with no chance of getting anything out of him.
“I’m mainly worried that Meryl, a woman who just had a baby, isn’t safe to look after the child alone,” Bianca said. “Tell me, and I promise I won’t say a word to Meryl’s husband.”
“What husband?” John scoffed. “Meryl wants to divorce him, so what kind of husband?”
Chandler hadn’t walked far yet, and he could hear what John said.
But John’s tone remained steady. “The one who treats Meryl well is her husband!”
As he spoke, John suddenly paused, a thought crossing his mind, and he turned toward the window.

Just then, Chandler happened to walk downstairs.

John tossed something out of the window, and it landed neatly at Chandler’s feet.
Chandler glanced down and instantly recognized the object–it was the key to the sports car.
“You gave it to me a year ago,” John said coldly, “but I’ve only opened it a few times. Now, I’m giving it back to you!”
John finished speaking without sparing Chandler a single glance.
With a sharp sound, he slammed the window shut again.
Chandler pursed his lips, picked up the car keys, and a faint hint of self–mockery flickered in his eyes.

The night had grown very
dark.
Chandler sat alone on the sofa, the lights in the living room turned off, leaving the surrounding darkness absolute.
The soft moonlight slipped through the window, casting a faint, eerie glow that made his face look ghostly pale.
In front of Chandler, several empty wine bottles lay scattered around his feet, abandoned in the aftermath of his solitude.

The black shirt he wore was stained with wine, and he looked utterly decadent, as though he had surrendered to the darkness around him.
Suddenly, the cell phone on the coffee table rang. Chandler glanced at it briefly, his gaze fleeting.
His deep eyes were tinged with scarlet. Seeing that it wasn’t the person he had hoped for, he didn’t react, nor did he bother to answer the call.
After a while, a soft knock echoed at the door.
Chandler was momentarily stunned, then quickly spun around.
He thought it was Meryl returning.
To his surprise, it was Walter.
The light in Chandler’s eyes flickered and dimmed once more.
He grabbed the bottle and took another deep swig of wine.
The wine stains slowly trickled down his jawline, cascading to his neck before vanishing into the fabric of his shirt.
Walter frowned. He had never seen Chandler, usually so self–disciplined, in such a state of decadence.
Hearing the phone on the coffee table ring, Walter walked over and glanced at the screen.

It was Dante calling. Walter hesitated for a moment before bringing the phone to his ear to answer.
“Why is it you? Where’s Chandler?”

Dante was a bit taken aback to hear Walter’s voice on the other
end.
Walter glanced at Chandler, who was sitting gloomily on the sofa, and spoke in a low voice, “He’s not convenient for you to answer the phone right now.”
Dante heard the sound of the wine bottle hitting the floor and rolling, and quickly sensed that something was off.
“What happened? Where is Chandler now?”
“At home,” Walter replied briefly.
Soon, Dante drove to Chandler’s home.
Hearing the knock on the door, Walter got up and walked over, opening it to reveal Dante standing outside.
As soon as the door swung open, Dante couldn’t help but frown, noticing the room was shrouded in darkness with no lights on.
He flipped the switch, and the light flickered on with a soft click, illuminating the room.
The light was blinding, and Chandler instinctively raised the

back of his hand to shield his eyes. He was sprawled on the sofa, the effects of the alcohol weighing him down.
Dante paused, staring for a moment, unsure if his eyes were deceiving him. ‘
“Chandler? Are you heartbroken?”
Dante stepped inside, his eyes scanning the room as he moved further in.
There seemed to be no sign that the hostess was at home.
Dante thought, “This is too strange. Meryl had just given birth not long ago. If she isn’t at home, where can she possibly be?”
Seeing Chandler’s current state, Dante raised an eyebrow and asked, “Did you two have a fight? Did she go back to her parents‘ place?”
Chandler lay on the sofa without saying a word.
Walter, standing off to the side, interrupted and said, “Mrs. Aniston is gone.”
Dante was momentarily stunned, unable to react right away. “She’s just gone back to her parents‘ place. Just go coax her back,” he said dismissively.
“Mrs. Aniston is not going back to her parents‘ home,” Walter replied.

“Where did she go then?” Dante asked.

Dante suddenly recalled how Anne had left the child behind and disappeared to Havenbrook without a word.
He asked, “Could she have gone to Havenbrook to look for Anne?”
Walter shook his head. “I’ve already checked the hotel check–in records across all of Kingsdom, reviewed the main road surveillance, and even looked into the flights from Havenbrook. There’s no trace of Mrs. Aniston anywhere.”
Hearing this, Dante’s expression darkened, his face becoming uncharacteristically serious.
He had assumed that the two were simply having a minor quarrel, nothing more.
But based on what Walter had said, it seemed that Meryl had completely vanished from Chandler’s world.
No wonder… Chandler was so deeply depressed.
Anne had also run away, and Dante could empathize with Chandler’s pain.
He walked over and picked up the half–empty bottle of wine.
“All of those women are the same!” Dante muttered bitterly. “If they don’t agree with something, they just run away, leaving us men like abandoned wives waiting for them to come back! Come

Chandler said nothing.
A woman with a child couldn’t suddenly disappear without leaving any trace.
There must be someone who helped her secretly.
That person couldn’t have been John, as he had just returned from abroad not long ago and didn’t possess such great capabilities.
But it was indeed John who took Meryl away from the Aniston Villa.
Then there was only one possibility.
John was merely throwing out a cover to confuse him.
There was someone else pulling the strings.
Chandler narrowed his eyes, a dangerous gleam flickering in them. “Felix!” he muttered, his voice low and filled with intent.
