Chapter 30
Julia froze, unsure what to say,
“Julia, if you don’t want to be my girlfriend, I’ll wait. I’ve waited eight years, I don’t mind waiting longer,” Ethan said.“I know you’re still getting over your last relationship, Can I get a number first?”
His eyes were tender. Julia sighed. “If I don’t say yes, I’ll feel like a terrible person She mentally slapped herself. When a man cries for you, it means he loves you deeply. Shaw had
ever cried for her except after she’d left.
Ethan panicked.“Julia, I’m not forcing you. If you’re still thinking about it, I won’t push you. I just want you to be happy.”
He turned to leave, his voice trailing behind him.
“I will wait until you are willing to be with me.”
Julia felt a pang of pain. She ran to him and hugged his waist. “Let’s be together! I don’t know how I feel about you yet, but I’m willing to try.”
She wasn’t impulsive. Because of Shaw, she knew how rare genuine love was. She didn’t love Ethan yet, but she would give it a try.
Ethan trembled, turning around and hugging her.“You’ve agreed; no take–backs.” He’d never let her go again.
That day, the Instagram post was updated.
“My friend and the girl are together. I asked him,‘Aren’t you worried she’s not serious?”
“He said, ‘Even if she’s not, I’m happy.“”
Julia was finally sure. It was about her and Ethan. She reread it, tears falling. How could someone be so devoted? Eight years of silent love must be hard, but he never talked about it. To suppon her, he became her air traffic controller.
They announced their relationship in the group chat, with a big red pocket “Julia and I are together. Let’s have dinner at The Capital Grille, Room 888, at 8 PM.* The group exploded.
“Wow, Ethan, that was fast!”
“Thanks, boss!”
David was particularly excited.
“Ethan, you owe me a big one. I’m your Cupid.”
Ethan replied, “Absolutely!”
Julia laughed. “Is all this fuss really necessary?”
Ethan’s voice went soft, “You want to break up already?”
