“Ahem!” Samuel cleared his throat to ease the awkwardness he felt. 

“I used to dislike her. I thought she was manipulative and had a dark side.” 

“And what about now?” Xander asked.

“Now, I still think she’s cunning and calculating, and still has a dark side, Samuel replied honestly. 

Xander frowned, confusion evident on his face. 

“But!” Samuel quickly shifted his tone. “She hasn’t harmed you. Her intentions toward you don’t seem malicious.” 

After a brief silence, Xander continued, “Is it because she risked her life to save you?” 

Samuel opened his mouth, but some things remained unspoken. 

“I’m going outside to sunbathe,” Samuel said, wheeling himself away from the villa as quickly as he could. 

After watching Samuel’s retreating figure, Xander opened the Dating Guide: Movie Edition. 

He scoffed at the idea that he needed a dating manual. As the head of the Benett, he should be more than capable of handling a simple date. But since Samuel had sent it, and he was bored anyway, he decided to take a look. 

Leo chimed in. “Boss, the meeting is about to start.” 

“Okay,” Xander replied dismissively before opening the document. 

The first tip: Buy only a cup of popcorn and a can of coke. This way, in the dim movie theater, you can accidentally” reach into the popcorn bucket at the same time, and your fingertips will touch, sparking a romantic spark. Sharing one soda was basically an indirect kiss, but even more exciting. 

Xander rolled his eyes at the suggestion. 

It all seemed so childish, as if he and Isabel were still naive teenagers. This kind of advice simply didn’t apply to them. 

He continued to the second tip. 

Choose a scary horror movie. Girls who are usually timid will instinctively cling to their companions when they are frightened. 

How cliché 

Although he had never been in a relationship, he had enough experience to know that such outdated advice wouldn’t be effective. 

“Boss, I think Mr. Samuel’s tips are pretty solid,” Leo commented, glancing at Xander’s notebook. 

“Don’t you find it cheesy?

“Sure, it’s cheesy, but as the saying goes, old tricks win bears. The fact that it’s cheesy just proves it works” 

Xander turned to Leo. “You sound quite experienced. How many relationships have you had? 

Leo winced at the question “Well, isn’t it a case of you are who you associate with? If you haven’t dated, how could I?” 

Xander shot him an exasperated look. Don’t shift your shortcomings onto me 

Then, he closed the notebook and added, “Let’s go to the office” 

“Are you planning to use this guide or not?” Leo pressed on 

You’re quite invested.” 

“Well, if it works for you, I might give it a shot too, Leo added. But as soon as the words left Xander came to a halt. 

“Am I just a test subject for you?” 

“Not at all! I’d never do that!” Leo said, hastily retreating a step. 

“Looks like you don’t want your year–end bonus, huh? Xander said with a cold expression. 

Leo immediately regretted his words, wishing he could slap himself for being so reckless 

Just as he was fretting internally, he spotted Isabel wandering around the yard. 

“Madam, could you please put in a good word for me with the boss?” 

Honestly, he didn’t even need to plead, just calling her by that title was enough. 

“What’s going on?” Isabelasked, looking puzzled as she approached Xander. 

Not paying attention to her steps, she tripped and fell night into Xander’s arms. 

Xander quickly reached out to steady her. 

Witnessing this, Leo breathed a sigh of relief. 

At last, my year–end bonus is safe. 

“Are you that reluctant to let me go?” Xander teased, a playful smile on his face as he looked at Isabel. 

Isabel glared at him exasperatedly, well aware that he was teasing her about her clumsiness. 

Stepping out of Xander’s embrace, she couldn’t help but retort, “I never thought the so–called stoic CEO would be capable of such smooth talk.” 

“Do you prefer someone as dull as a wooden block, only talking about daily meals?” 

Isabel considered his words. While a straightforward person might make life comfortable, honestly, they could be quite boring. Life needed a bit of excitement.

“Ahem!” Leo interjected, trying to salvage the situation Boss, if we keep this up, we’ll be late for the meeting.” 

Xander frowned in annoyance. 

Can’t you see I’m having a conversation with Isabel? Do you have no awareness of the situation? Is meeting that important? Nothing can compare to my time with Isabel. 

“Let them wait” 

Leo opened his mouth. today’s meeting isn’t so important, how could I have forced myself to interrupt just nou? This is a 500 million dollar deal on the line! 

As Leo fidgeted anxiously, Isabel urged. “You should hurry and go.” 

Xander nodded. “Alright.” 

Leo’s eyes widened in disbelief as Xander agreed so readily. Just like that? 

Surprised, he silently resolved that in the future, he’d just go to Isabel directly in situations like this to spare himself the anxiety. 

Xander had just left when she received a call from Kaleb, 

Why won’t this guy give up? 

Isabel, uninterested in talking, simply hung up the phone. 

Just as she hung up. Isabel received a message from Kaleb. 

I’m at your house, and your brother is here with me.” 

Her expression darkened immediately, a surge of anger flooding through her as she rushed toward Lilac Heights. 

As she pushed the door open, she found Kaleb and Reggie in the living room. 

“Finally, you’re here, Kaleb said as he approached Isabel. 

Fury bubbled up inside her, and unable to contain it any longer, she forcefully shoved Kaleb away
