I blinked, taken aback. She had actually said it. The ugly truth I’d sensed but never fully believed until now was out in the open.
She wanted me to fail simply because she could not stand the idea of my success.
But her confession also confirmed one thing: she was afraid of the possibility that I might succeed..
“Funny,” I replied, my voice low but steady, “I was just about to say the same thing.” I stepped to the side, ready to leave. “We’ll see what happens with the President’s Medal tomorrow.”
Linda’s smug grin wavered, but she quickly recovered, grabbing my arm as I tried to walk away.
I didn’t struggle, simply looked at her with calm indifference.
With my free hand, I pointed toward the wall–mounted security camera above us.
“I know what you’re trying to do, Linda. But if you’re going to set me up, maybe don’t do it in front of faculty cameras.”
Her grip on my arm tightened for a moment, and she glared at me with open frustration.
Then, with a huff, she released me,
further, but the presence of the displeased. I could tell she wanted to do more, to push me
camera had forced her hand.
“You’re so arrogant,” she sneered. “But your so–called ‘bright future‘ won’t be as secure as you think. You’re a nobody, Sophia, and soon everyone will see that.”
I gave her a cool look as I adjusted my jacket. “That’s where you’re wrong, Linda,” I replied evenly. “No matter what dirty tricks you pull, my future doesn’t depend on you or anyone else.”
The next day, as I was about to leave for school, I was surprised to see Ethan waiting in the living room, sitting calmly with a cup of coffee in hand.
Normally, he was already gone by this time, busy with his duties as one of the pack’s key figures.
Uis days often started early and ended late, so I was used to the house being empty in the morning.
But today, there he was, looking impeccably dressed in a sharp, navy blue suit that accentuated his tall, athletic frame.
Chapter 107
His white shirt was perfectly pressed, the silver cufflinks gleamed, and his dark hair was styled back with just a hint of casualness.
Ethan had always had an imposing presence, but today, he looked particularly dashing.
“Do you have a date later?” I teased, smiling as I looked him over. It was rare to see him dressed up
like this.
Ethan chuckled, setting down his cup and standing up. “Not exactly,” he replied, offering his arm with a playful smirk. “Today, I have the honor of escorting a beautiful young lady to school.”
I froze, blinking up at him. “Wait… why are you suddenly taking me to school?”
Ethan’s expression softened, and he reached out, ruffling my hair like he used to when I was
younger.
“Because when something happens to you, I’d prefer to hear it from you, not from someone else. Promise me that if there’s ever a problem, you’ll come to me first, okay?”
His words tugged at my heart. I hadn’t wanted him to know about the incident with the headmaster’s medal yesterday.
Ethan was always swamped with responsibilities, and this was such a small issue that I felt I could
andle it on my own. But knowing he’d put off work to support me without hesitation left a warm, lingering ache in my chest.
With a gentle smile, he gestured towards the door. “Shall we? Your chariot awaits, young lady.”
I laughed, though a hint of shyness crept in, and followed him outside to the car. To my surprise, instead of my usual ride, Ethan had arranged for a sleek, black Rolls Royce.
The car gleamed under the morning light, an undeniable sign of luxury that instantly drew attention. as we approached the school.
The entrance was crowded with students, and as Ethan pulled up in front, heads turned. Whispers spread like wildfire.
Everyone was staring, first at the car and then at Ethan as he stepped out and came around to open the door for me. He extended a hand, helping me out with a warm, brotherly smile that only added. 4 his charm.

Mia, nudged Linda, her voice dripping with envy as she murmured, “Isn’t that Sophia? Can you believe she’s got some rich, handsome guy dropping her off? Does she need to make a scene every
Jige?”
Chapter 107
Her tone was critical, but her eyes were locked on Ethan, clearly captivated by his looks. It wasn’t hard to understand why.
Ethan looked like he’d walked straight off a magazine cover, exuding an aura of confidence and elegance that surpassed even the most popular celebrities.
Linda narrowed her eyes, her jealousy evident. Her fists clenched as she whispered, “Does Lirian. know about this? She’s playing with fire. If he finds out about this, she might be out of luck.”
Mia snickered, pulling out her phone.
“Well, she definitely doesn’t know,” she replied with a sly grin, snapping a picture of Ethan and me together. “A little evidence never hurts, does it? Let’s see if she can keep this little secret from Lirian.”
