Chapter 47
I didn’t hold back, not even for a second.
My hand slapped Ryan’s face with a sharp crack, and the pale, cold complexion he usually wore turned red almost instantly. His cheek began to swell, and the look of shock that spread across his face only fueled my anger.
I stepped closer, my voice low but cutting with every word.
“You and Linda knew each other long before I ever came into the picture. I already knew that.”
His eyes widened, but he didn’t speak.
I continued, “You claimed to love me, but all the while you were using me, hanging on to me while you followed your ‘white moonlight‘ around. What kind of man does that?”
I leaned in even closer, my eyes locking onto his as I delivered the final blow.
“You’re just as low and shameless as your mother–who willingly became a mistress and left you at the playground, abandoned without a second thought.”
His face contorted with anger, his emotions roiling like a storm about to break.
He opened his mouth as if to retort, but nothing came out.
I scoffed, letting go of him.
My head turned away, refusing to give him another moment of my attention.
I started to walk off, but Ryan grabbed my wrist with a force that sent a sharp pain shooting up my
arm.
His voice was grim, darker than I’d ever heard it. “I’ve been meaning to ask something. Sophia… Where’s your wolf?”
My heart clenched, the question cutting deeper than I expected. My wolf. Sierra.
- 6.
Sierra was more than just a companion; she was my most loyal friend.
We had been through so much together. Countless nights when I thought I’d break under the weight of the world, Sierra had been there, her presence steady and calming. She wasn’t just a pet; she was a part of me. In her eyes, I saw my own strength reflected back at me, a reminder that I wasn’t alone.
In my past life, Linda bribed servants and convinced them to kill Sierra by putting wolfsbane in my diet for years.
They slowly poisoned Sierra just to make me vulnerable. And it worked. After Sierra was gone, I became their puppet, too weak to fight back.
It wasn’t just Sierra’s death that broke me–it was the betrayal and the loneliness that followed.
When I came back from my rebirth, I had hoped to find Sierra again.
I could feel her presence, like a faint heartbeat just out of reach, but no matter how much I called for her, she didn’t come.
It was as if she was asleep, unable to wake.
“What business is it of yours where my wolf is?” I snapped, yanking my arm in an attempt to break free from Ryan’s iron grip.
His scowl deepened, and he didn’t let go. Instead, he seemed to be thinking, calculating something.
A chill ran down my spine. There was danger in his eyes now, something predatory. Without Sierra, I wasn’t strong enough to shake him off on my own.
Just as I was starting to panic, a shadow appeared behind Ryan, and before I could fully register what was happening, Lirian was there. With one swift punch, Ryan was knocked to the ground.
The fight escalated quickly. Both of them shifted into their wolf forms, and the snarls and growls filled the air as they tore into each other.
Ryan and Lirian were both powerful wolves, equally matched in strength, and they fought like wild animals, all claws and fangs, with no signs of stopping.
I could feel the earth tremble beneath them as they clashed again and again, fur flying, the sound of flesh ripping and bones cracking filling the clearing.
Blood splattered onto the ground, staining the dirt as they continued their brutal fight.
Lirian’s side was bleeding heavily, and Ryan’s shoulder had a deep gash, but neither of them seemed tonotice the injuries as they kept attacking.

At the peak of their fight, I sensed movement nearby. Someone was coming.
My voice cut through the chaos. “Stop!” I shouted. “Both of you, stop!”
The command in my tone made them halt. Both wolves shifted back into their human forms, panting heavily and dripping with blood.
Ryan’s face was bruised, and his shirt was torn from Lirian’s claws.
Lirian, too, was badly hurt, with blood seeping from a gash across his chest. But he looked at me, his eyes soft despite the pain.
The image reminded me of my last life, that time when they fought over me. At that time, I was the one who ignored Lirian, who
was much more injured, and just went ahead and cared about Ryan’s
injuries.
At that moment, Lirian was looking at me expectantly, as if waiting for me to say a few words of
concern to him.
