Chapter 65
I couldn’t help but sneer, my voice dripping with sarcasm as I spoke, “Apologize? Are you sure you didn’t provoke me first last time?”
Eric, with a confused expression, blinked at me. “What did I provoke you for?”
Rolling my eyes, I replied sharply, “You said I was adopted by an old man. Who else would I scold if not you?”
Eric shifted uncomfortably but shrugged as if trying to defend himself. “Everyone else said that…”
I crossed my arms, glaring at him. “So if everyone else says you’re a fool, does that make you one
too?”
Eric’s brow furrowed, and he leaned forward, his voice wary. “Who says that?”
It was almost funny how serious he looked. This guy really wasn’t the brightest bulb in the box. His heart might not be bad, but he was definitely a bit of a dork. His naivety made it hard to stay mad at him for too long.
*Before I could reply, Eric straightened up, puffing his chest out like he was about to say something
important. “Last time, you asked about my name. Does that mean you’re interested in me?”
I nearly choked on the air. “Interested? In you?” I raised an eyebrow. “You’re so self–absorbed. Don’t
worry, Eric, I won’t waste a glance your way.”
But he was undeterred, a goofy grin spreading across his face. “Well, who do you think is more handsome, me or Ryan?”
Ah, the comparison to Ryan. Ryan was the so–called “school heartthrob,” popular and envied by all. But the fact that Eric was even entertaining the idea of being in the same league as Ryan was almost
too much.
I let out a short laugh. “What, are you interested in him?”
Eric’s grin faltered, clearly taken aback…. I meant to ask if I have a chance! Anyway, you liked him. 40 much before. How about you give me a shot instead?”
Не
He grinned again, this time more confidently, and to my shock, he lifted his shirt slightly, revealing a

Chapter 65
Eric’s body wasn’t bad, to be honest. His muscles were toned, his skin lightly tanned, and his physique was athletic, showing off the hard work he put in during gym class and whatever sports he played. His abs were neatly sculpted, the kind of physique that could easily draw gasps from girls. He had that lean build, a swimmer’s body, maybe, and his confidence with showing it off was
obvious.
The girl standing next to me let out an audible gasp. “Wow! That’s amazing!” she exclaimed.
I, however, rolled my eyes and turned away. Sure, his abs were decent, but I had seen better. His
confidence was the only thing bigger than his muscles. “Nice try,” I muttered, dismissing him. His attempts to impress weren’t working.
Just then, a loud scream from across the gym drew everyone’s attention.
I turned toward the doorway, and my gaze was immediately caught by the sight of Lirian walking in. The atmosphere in the gym shifted instantly..
Everyone who had been gawking at Eric’s display of abs quickly redirected their focus to Lirian.
The excitement was palpable.
It wasn’t every day that someone like Lirian made an appearance. His presence was magnetic.
Hey bro, I knew you’d come!” Eric called out excitedly, abandoning me in an instant to jog over to
his friend.
I watched Lirian from a distance, unable to help the small smile that tugged at my lips. His expression remained as cold as ever, but as soon as his eyes met mine, a subtle, barely–there smile”
curved the corner of his mouth.
It was fleeting but enough to send a wave of thrilled whispers through the crowd.
The girls around me erupted into excited giggles and squeals.
Even the guys couldn’t hide their admiration for him.
Lirian was a sight to behold, with sharp features, an air of quiet confidence, and a reputation that
made him untouchable.
Eric, meanwhile, grinned up at him, oblivious to the shift in attention. He was practically bouncing
with excitement.
“I knew you’d show up, man! You never miss a chance to show off.”

Lirian barely acknowledged him, his eyes still on me for a split second before he shifted his focus to warming up. He made a small wave in my direction, and the simple gesture sent another round of screams through the sidelines.
As for Eric, it seemed like he finally caught on to where Lirian’s gaze had been.
