She fell silent.
“Look again,” he demanded.

Just then, her phone rang; she took it out and saw it was her mom.

But her mom beat her to it, saying, “Your brother had an accident. His colleague said he accidentally fell from the second floor. We don’t know how he’s doing now. Get to the hospital; your dad and I will rush over from the hometown now.”
Lyla said, “OK. I’m on my way. Be careful on the way, Mom.”
After hanging up the phone, she was about to head back to town, but when she got up, she suddenly remembered she was with Henry.

“I was wondering why my brother suddenly came to New York; he said he had found a well–paying job at a logistics company.
“I’ve always felt there’s something fishy about his job, not to mention he gets hurt all the time. Turns out he has been working for Troy.
“It’s all Henry’s trap. Ever since the second I approached him, he had already set a trap for me.”
Realizing this, Lyla was taken aback and slumped to the ground.
Meanwhile, Henry said, “Your parents are getting old, and I hate to see anything happen to them. What if they can’t make it?”
She panicked.“Don’t do anything to them. I’ll tell you everything. She… She came to me.”
Sonya came back to the Sutton’s house. She seemed tired, so Baylee took her to the guest room on the second floor so that she could rest for a while.
She sat cross–legged on the bed, pulling herself together.

With such a thought, she took out her phone, clicked on the contacts, and looked at a strange number at the top. As she was on her way back, she got a call from this number, but after she picked up, all she heard were muffled sounds.
Figuring it was a harassing call, she blacklisted the number. Then she continued to scroll down and saw Henry’s number; she blacklisted it as
well without hesitation.
Then she went ahead and blocked all his
accounts on all social platforms. Having done all this, she was greatly relieved; taking a deep breath, she felt as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
“Dr. Ella, Jimmy wants to see you,” suddenly, Baylee called out to her from downstairs.
Sonya wondered who Jimmy was. She looked out of the window and saw Leticia’s grandson, so she hurriedly ran downstairs.
“Your name is Jimmy?”
Jimmy scratched the back of his head, feeling a bit shy.
“Grandma wants you to have these,” he said.
Jimmy carried a bag of fresh apples. Sonya took the bag over and said, “You’d thank her for me, right?”
Jimmy nodded, looking hesitant.
She noticed and asked, “Do you have something else to talk to me about?”
“Grandpa is hospitalized, and the crew delayed. The merchants who collect apples in the town have already left, and our apples are gonna rot.”
“Has Mrs. Horton talked to the filming crew?”
“They didn’t get back to us.” Jimmy looked up at Sonya.“Grandma didn’t want me to tell you, but I‘ know if we can’t sell the apples, we won’t have the money to pay for Grandpa’s surgery, and he’ll never get better.”
With that, he started crying.
Sonya patted Jimmy’s shoulder and said, “Don’t cry. Tell Mrs. Horton not to worry, OK? I’ll talk to them.”
Since the crew had requisitioned the farmers‘ orchard, of course, they’d give them money as compensation. She just needed to know the exact amount and terms.
She asked Jimmy to wait at the Sutton’s house while she drove to the courtyard. The shooting was about to end. When she arrived, the staff were packing up the equipment and loading them onto the vehicles.
She came to the courtyard and saw that they were still filming with many staff members gathering. Taylor and Riya were present, too, but both of them looked angry. She squeezed through the crowd and then saw Henry. He was holding Lyla’s hand and putting a ring on her finger.
He looked at her, his face full of joy, and said, “Lyla, marry me.”
Sonya was stunned. Henry was proposing to Lyla, and the camera, was on, capturing this moment
