Brian’s car was parked at the alley’s entrance. He offered to drive Sonya to the hospital.
“You don’t have to. My car isn’t far, and you have Milton with you.”

“Sonya, you seem really in a rush. Let us take you, or we won’t feel at ease,” Milton said with a serious expression, his brows furrowed Touched, Sonya ruffled Milton’s hair. “Thank you, sweetheart.”

The hospital was in chaos. Sonya only realized upon arriving that it wasn’t just Lily who was injured–over twenty staff members and actors

cases already in the emergency room. Sonya found Lily in the hallway outside the emergency room. Her leg was bandaged, and she was leaning back in a chair, her face pale. “Lily!” Sonya rushed over.“Where are you injured?”
Seeing her, Lily tried to smile to reassure her but ended up retching instead.
“It’s nothing, just a minor injury on my leg,” she said.
Sonya could tell from her condition that it wasn’t just her leg.
She first checked Lily’s head and found a swollen bump on the back. It didn’t look serious, but anything involving the head needed to be examined.
“I’m okay. I dodged in time, but others were hurt worse. Especially one of the extras–she was right in front of the car and got thrown into the air,” Lily said, still shaken.
Sonya looked around. It was the middle of the night, and with so many injured, the doctors and nurses were overwhelmed “What exactly happened?” Sonya asked, distracted.
“It was Lyla.”
“Lyla?” Sonya finally turned to look at Lily.
Lily shook her head as she recalled the accident. “She had a driving scene, which was supposed to be simple, but for some reason, she suddenly swerved and crashed into the staff and the rest area. It was horrifying–screams everywhere. She only stopped when she hit a pillar.*
“How is she?”
“She seems okay. She slowed down before hitting the pillar.”
As soon
as Lily finished speaking, she started retching again, her face growing even paler.
Seeing Lily’s condition worsening, Sonya quickly went to the head nurse to take her for a head scan. As expected, Lily had suffered some nerve damage from hitting the back of her head, but fortunately, it was .mild and not a concussion.
After the examination, Sonya contacted someone she knew in the inpatient department and quickly arranged for Lily to be admitted.
By the time Lily was settled, it was already past midnight. Wondering if Brian and Milton were still waiting at the outpatient building, Sonya hurried from the second–floor corridor of the inpatient building toward the outpatient building.
Just as she reached the stairwell, she ran into Lyla.
Lyla was on crutches, missing a leg, her head bandaged, and her expression panicked. She didn’t even see Sonya and hurriedly muttered an apology before heading downstairs. But her movements were clumsy, and her crutch slipped, causing her to tumble down the stairs with a cry.
Sonya tried to grab her but failed, watching helplessly as Lyla hit the ground hard.
The stairwell was empty. Sonya sighed and went over to help her up.
“Are you okay?” she asked.
Hearing her voice, Lyla realized it was Sonya.
“Ms. Ella, it’s you.”
“Let me help you up first, then I’ll call a nurse.”
“No, no, please don’t!”
Sonya noticed something was off.“What’s wrong?”
Lyla shook her head at first, but then she broke down, sobbing uncontrollably.
“I didn’t mean to, really. I just hadn’t slept properly for days. I was so tired and sleepy. In the car, I was trying to stay alert, but the director kept talking to the extras, and I just couldn’t stay awake. When he yelled ‘action,‘ I instinctively drove out, and then… I don’t know how, but I crashed into the crowd.”

Lyla desperately wanted to explain this to everyone, but no one would listen. She could only tell Sonya.
“Why haven’t you been sleeping?”
“She… she keeps calling me. Sometimes, she talks about how she and Mr. Sullivan used to be so in love, and other times, she just stays silent. This is driving me insane.”
Lyla was both terrified and in pain, hugging her knees helplessly.
Since that night, Henry and Zoey seemed to have vanished from her world. Sonya hadn’t bothered to inquire about them, assuming they had reconciled and that Lyla, having fulfilled her role as a stand–in, had stepped aside. She hadn’t expected Lyla to still be entangled in all this.
“So you’re planning to… run away?” Sonya raised an eyebrow.
“I can’t handle this!” Lyla cried, breaking down. “So many people were hurt, and so much equipment was damaged. I could never afford to pay
for all of it!”
Sonya frowned, suddenly feeling a pang of sympathy for Lyla. Perhaps it was because she, too, had suffered Zoey’s revenge and torment, but she had managed to escape.
Lyla, overwhelmed by her emotions, suddenly clutched her head in pain, collapsing to the ground and crying out in agony.
After a moment’s hesitation, Sonya went to call a nurse.

She helped the nurse carry Lyla to the second floor. As they were heading toward the inpatient ward, Henry arrived. He paused for a moment when he saw Sonya, then strode over, pushing Sonya.

Zoey followed, along with the director and a few staff members.
Lyla trembled at the sight of Henry, and when she saw the others, she turned away in fear, even looking to Sonya for help.

The director and staff who had just arrived looked bewildered, not daring to intervene.
“Move!” Henry growled at Zoey.
“Henry, you can’t do this to me. You know I love you!”
Henry shoved Zoey aside without a second thought and kept walking.
“Mr. Sullivan, Lyla, she…” the director started but hesitated.
“Ms. Bauer is my fiancée. We’re getting married soon. I’ll take full responsibility for all the damages she caused. Are you satisfied with that
answer?”
The director didn’t dare object and quickly nodded.
Sonya was shocked, and clearly, so was Lyla. Both had assumed that with the real Zoey back, Henry would shower her with love, treat her well, and
marry her. But instead, he had abandoned Zoey and
was marrying Lyla, the stand–in.
