Chapter 1
I had imagined a thousand different ways I might see Mr. Pierce again.
But never like this at his wedding.
And the bride was Summer Brooks his moonlight love he’d dreamed of for ten years.
As the photographer, I waited below the stage early
“Have you heard? The groom planned this whole wedding himself!”
“He’s so in love he rehearsed the entire ceremony dozens of times, his hands shoking with nerves each time.”
“I heard the bride soy backstage that he’s been secretly in love with her for ten years!”
“Finally witnessing true love here.”
My colleagues gushed excitedly about the groom
I quietly observed the venue, silently agreeing with their assessment.
Exquisite planning, lavish decorations, perfect attention to detail.
The groom clearly understood the bride’s preferences, sparing no effort or expense.
Every sign pointed to the groom’s love and devotion.
Everyone yearns for such romance, especially someone like me – who never had a proper wedding and lost her husband
Flashes of memory pierced my heart with bitterness.
Before I could shake off my doze
The ceremony began.
I pushed aside my memories and switched to work mode
Riley still nooded child support – I had to focus on work.
The lights illuminated the stage as staff slowly pulled open the doors.
The bride emerged from behind them, while the groom stepped out from behind the scroon
They drew closer, their silhouettes merging amid gasps from the crowd.
As my lens focused and I saw clearly, I froze in place.
Blood rushed to my head, saaming to boil in my veins.
ayos until they felt blood–red.
It burned behind my a
The groom was my husband who had vanished a year ago Mr. Pierce.
And the bride – I knew her too.
Pierce’s moonlight love.
I stared intently at the stage, desperately searching for proof this wasn’t him.
But there was none to find
The tearmark below his eye, the tiny scar at the corner, the burn mark on his ring finger.
Everything confirmed this was my husband,
Perhaps fooling my intense gaze, Piorca glanced my way.
But he didn’t linger, quickly looking away.
As if he didn’t know mo at all.
But how could he not know mo?
Ha thought he was acting wall, but in that moment our eyes met, the guilt that flashed in his revealed the truth.
He hadn’t lost his memory like in novels, hadn’t forgotten the past.
He had simply cheated.
Abandoned his wife and daughter to pursue his teenage love.
The Pierce who’d vanished for a year seemed like a different person – his manner refined and cultured, nothing like before. Now he gazed at Summer with sincere devotion, his eyes filled with undisguised love.
A look I’d never seen before.
My heart clenched, bitter shock flooding through me.
As my colleagues had said, he was nervous.
Pierce trembled all over, yet dropped to one knee with practiced grace.
“Sum, I’ve waited for this moment for ten years.”
“I love you so deeply, so completely for ten whole years! Without pause!”
“I tried living with another woman, tried to forget you, but after seven years, I just couldn’t do it.” “Other women were like shadows to me – I couldn’t see them, I only saw you! I only love you!”
Summer was moved to tears, crying frooly
Pierce immediately rushed to wipe them away, his doop gaze full of emotion.
I masochistically stared at the stage, clinging to one last hope.
Telling myself that if he would just turn around, just explain, anything might still be possible.
But when I saw Pierce unhesitatingly wipe away Summer’s toors, I felt all strength drain from my body, my heart convulsing in agony that left me shaking.
Pierce had severe germaphobia – I never dared cry in front of him.
He would only furrow his brow and say: “Disgusting.”
“Wonderful!!”
“Ten years of loving our Summer – now that’s devotion!”
“Such a handsome couple with good genes – they’re so in love, they’ll surely have a handsome son soon!”
The guests were moved to excitement, chattering enthusiastically.
Only I stood frozen, unable to process what I was seeing.
Until Pierce and Summer exchanged rings and kissed passionately on stage.
When I caught Summer’s triumphant, contemptuous glance from just moters away, while Piorca wouldn’t even turn around.
Suddenly, I understood everything.
She had done it deliberately arranged for the original photographer to leave, had me take over, made sure I would sea all this.
She was showing off her victory
And Pierce completely took her side, completely indulged her.
He truly loved Summer desperately.
Loved her enough to become a complate ingratel
Fighting to control my trembling body, I managed a bitter smile.
When the kissing couple finally separated, I no longer avoided his gaze but stared directly at Pierce,
Meeting his uncomfortable yet cold expression.
I took out my phono
“I’m calling the police my husband, Mr. Pierce, is committing bigamy!”
