Chapter 3
Chapter 3
That venomous smile of hers remained frozen in my mind.
Perhaps my hatred was too deep.
So deep that even after death, I hadn’t been able to move on, trapped here, mahle to leape
I had done nothing wrong.
Yet I had been framed so cruelly.
As I was buried alive, only one thought consumed me-
Let me see my son one last time.
Without me, what kind of torture would Caroline put him through?
Three days later, Daniel returned to the private estate.
This time, he wasn’t alone.
Behind him stood the fragile and delicate Caroline, clinging to him like a helpless flowe
And beside them-
A little boy in a suit.
Jack Emerson!
Excitement surged through me as I floated toward him-
But before I could even touch my son, Daniel’s hand shot out, seizing his small neck in a deadly grip.
“Chloe, I’m giving you one last chance!”
“Your three days are up. If you still refuse to come out, don’t blame me for strangling your son
own hands!”

Daniel truly adored his childhood sweetheart.
So much so that he was willing to kill his own son just to force me into donating my kidney.
He had even brought a private medical team, ready to operate on the spot.

Chapter 3
“Chloe, you can survive with one less kidney, but Caroline’s kidney failure can’t wait.”
“I’ll give you five seconds to decide. Five, four, three-”
Jack’s little face turned blue from the lack of oxygen.
He struggled desperately against his father’s grip, but he was too small to break free.
Instead, he fixed his unwavering gaze toward the villa.
“Mom, don’t come out! Don’t worry about me!”
“You already gave Dad one of your kidneys before. If you give away another, you’ll die!”
Jack gasped out the words, his voice hoarse from the strain.
Daniel’s grip stiffened. His head snapped down.
“What did you just say?”
“What do you mean your mother donated her kidney to me? I had leukemia back then–it was Caroline who gave me hers!”
Jack’s gaze was firm, filled with contempt for his father.
“Dad, you’re a fool. You let that woman deceive you again.”
“Can’t you see? Caroline has been lying this whole time because she wants to take Mom’s place!”
“Mom never pushed her. She only had a miscarriage because she insisted on going to the gym despite the doctor’s warnings! But she blamed Mom for it!”
“Mom is innocent!”
Tears streamed down my face as I listened.
My six–year–old son–he trusted me more than the man I had been married to for eight years.
Ever since Caroline returned from abroad five years ago, our peaceful life had been shattered.
On our son’s first birthday, I had been eagerly waiting for Daniel to come home and celebrate with us.
But even after ten at night, he still hadn’t returned.
Cradling my child, I went downstairs to look for him–only to see him holding Caroline in a tight embrace.

Chapter 3
“Would you come back to me?” His voice was soft, pleading. “If you’re willing. I can abandon my wife and child for you.”
Caroline giggled and replied that she hadn’t decided yet.
Then, she demanded that Daniel never share a bed with me again.
Obediently, he kissed her forehead, and just like that, he became her loyal dog.
For the next two years, he never touched me again.
Even when he had certain urges, he would only get up and take a cold shower.
Then Caroline got pregnant.
Daniel was overjoyed, so much so that he stopped coming home for days on end.
His laptop, usually filled with work files, now had carefully detailed preparations for the baby’s arrival-
One list for Caroline.
Another for their unborn child.
My heart ached.
When I had been pregnant with Jack, he had never shown such care.
That night, I confronted him.
But Daniel only looked at me with cold indifference–he didn’t even have the patience to argue.
“Can you stop being unreasonable?”
“Caroline has no one else in this country. We grew up together–can’t I take care of her?”
“When you were pregnant, you had nannies attending to you. What else could you possibly complain
about?”
