The next morning, he had breakfast with me and then left.
But suddenly, I experienced unbearable stomach pain.
After a thorough examination, the doctor said with a stern face, “You have been pregnant for three weeks, and you are only coming for a check–up now.”
Looking at the doctor’s diagnosis, I suddenly felt a bit ironic.
I didn’t know how to get home.
Olivia arrived before I even had a chance to sit down.
I watched as she stood with a big belly, and my brows furrowed. The next second, I wanted to close
the door.
However, she forcefully squeezed in and didn’t show a trace of fragility which I saw in her at the hospital that day.
Olivia looked around with a swagger, pursed her lips, and said, “That’s it? The house that Mr. Carter prepared for you is only this big.”
After she finished speaking, she thrust the photo in front of me.
“Look, the elders of the Carter family have already given me this villa in the city center. It’s much better than here, and they even hired several servants to take care of me.
“You have nothing here.”
I saw the villa in her photo, and my hand couldn’t help but pinch it, and my nails sank deep into the
flesh.
I recalled how he proposed to me years ago. He said he would leave this villa to our daughter.
Now he gave it to another woman.
Thinking of this, I laughed at myself. Tears burst out of my eyes.
Olivia smiled proudly and said, “Do you know your position in the hearts of the Carter family? You might as well fulfill me and give your title to me and my children. Let us enjoy all of this rightfully.”
Upon hearing this, I couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
Olivia gave me a strange look.
“What are you laughing at? Are you crazy?”

Looking at her innocent face, I smashed the vase next to me and pointed at the front door, saying,
“Get out of here!”
However, Olivia persisted and waved a ring in front of me.
“Why should I leave? It’s you who should leave. I am the homeowner of the Carter family. Take a
good look at this ring.”
I saw the ring on her hand and understood that my perseverance was a self–inspiration.
That ancestral ring had long been worn by another woman.
With this in mind, I went upstairs to pack my things and get ready to leave. After all, in three days, I would be able to return to my own world.
As soon as I came downstairs with my luggage, I saw Olivia lying on the ground.
Liam held her in his arms and gently called her name.
When he saw me coming down with my luggage, Liam frowned and said, “What’s going on? She has done nothing wrong, nor does the child.
“Why don’t you even spare a pregnant woman?”
After speaking, he gently shook Olivia. When she slowly woke up, she looked at Liam with a face full
of grievances.
“Mr. Carter, it’s all my fault. If I hadn’t come to apologize to Mrs. Carter, this conflict wouldn’t have happened. Mrs. Carter didn’t mean it. Please don’t blame her.”
As I watched the two of them gaze deeply into each other’s eyes, I couldn’t help but feel a wave of
discomfort in my stomach.
Just as I was about to explain, Harper arrived and she raised her hand and slapped me.
I looked at Harper, who was a usually kind grandmother, with a face full of disbelief.
Liam, holding Olivia in his arms, saw this scene and gently put down the person in his arms. He
walked over and shielded me behind him.
“Grandma, take it out on me. It has nothing to do with Evelyn.”
Harper sighed and put away the stern expression on her face, then had someone carry away Olivia.
Liam looked at the wounds on my face, carefully preparing to touch them, but I turned my head
away.
He withdrew his hand and looked at me with guilt.

“It’s my fault, all of it, Evelyn. If it wasn’t for me, none of this would have turned out the way it is
now.
“But you
don’t need to compare yourself with her. After all, the most important person in my heart
has always been you.”
As I listened to his words, a hint of bitterness welled
up
in my
my heart.
After five years of being together day and night, he still believed the lies of another woman.
Thinking of this, I decided to give him a big gift before leaving.
