Chapter 140
Sabrina’s POV:
For fucks sake! Just when my evening was going fine! He had to show up and ruin it! What is his darn problem?! Can’t he just leave me alone?!
I had to dismiss Rose and abandon the entire walk. Because what was that?!
And to thank I thought I’d enjoy the soft weather and maybe hang out in the harem before it was time for dinner. Only for him to show up.
And what he said?! All the things that he said only made me anger. It took a lot of my self control not to scream my head off like a mad woman.
I returned back to my room and ran a long and cold shower. There was still about three hours to dinner, and I decided to get a quick nap.
I don’t trust myself to face dinner with him if I don’t get some rest first.
I lit some scented candles and crawled into bed. I willed sleep to come and come fast.

The feeling of a kiss on my lips startled me awake. I blinked my eyes open, and for a moment my eyes were out of focus. “Are you awake?” A deep voice whispered. He grabbed my hips and pulled me closer to him. My eyes fluttered shut and I leaned into him. He kissed me again, his tongue forcing into my mouth.
“Ah…” I gasped, a jolt moving down my body.
“What’s wrong?” He whispered against my lips.
That voice….I knew that voice…
I pushed him away and opened my eyes. Bright red eyes met mine, kind and gentle.
The king?!
I opened my mouth to scream. And then I woke up.
“Rina,” a voice said behind me. “You’re awake?”
I turned sharply. There was Caldan, laying behind me. He had my hair in his hands as he stroked it. He looked at me and smiled softly.
“Caldan?” I asked.
“Yes.” He chuckled. He propped his head up on his fist and stared at me. “You looked so peaceful, I decided to join you.”
“Did you…did you kiss me?”
He shook his head. “No.”
I sat up and touched my lips.
It was a dream. I dreamt about the king kissing me?

My face turned bright red kay now what is my problem? We have an argument and I dream of him kissing me! White Caldan was right beside me? Shaine and anger settled in my belly
“Rina,” Caldan sat up and took my hand that was on my lips. “What’s wrong?”
I turned to him. “L…”
“You want me to kiss you?”
“What?”
“You had a dream just now didn’t you? Was it good?”
I wanted to faint.
Was it good?! If he had any idea what I dreamt of would he be asking me that question?!
“Yes.” I said, unsure what I was saying yes to. “You wanted to see me?”
He leaned forward and kissed me briefly. “I didn’t see you
all day!
“I…I went out.”
“Really?” He laid back and stared up at me. “How was your day? What did
you do?”
I thought about the encounter with the king. And I chose not to mention that. “Rose and I…we played some games. Nothing too serious. Just a normal day.”
“What do you think about getting out of here? An adventure or something.”
“Adventure?” I perked up at the sound of that. “Out of here?”
“Yes.”
A chance to leave this place?! Count me fucking in. That way I won’t have to see the king. Or even have dreams of him.
“I’m leaving tomorrow.” He said. He took a lock of my hair and toyed with it. I hadn’t noticed, but my hair was well past my waist now.
“Leaving?” My heart fell into my stomach. The last time he left…well things happened.
“Yes. But I want you to come with me.”
“Why…why are you leaving?”
“It’s for work.” He said. He brought my hair up to his nose and sniffed it. “But if you come with me, it’ll be a fun adventure for you. I get to travel a lot. And I think you’ll like that.”
“I will.” I said. I turned my body to him and faced him. “I will come with you.”
He laughed softly. “Wow. I was worried for nothing.”
“You were worried?”
“Yes. I was worried you won’t want to come. Seeing as you just got back. Well, I’m glad I worried for nothing.”
I smiled. “Tomorrow morning? I’ll have to put a bag together and…”
He sat up
and moved closer to me. An alarm bell went off in my head. It took a lot to reel my head back as he reached out to

Come to think of it, perhaps I’m being too paranoid. I know Caldan would never hurt me. And he would never do anything to me without my permission.
I looked up at his bright eyes. Why am I so jumpy around him?
“The maids will take care of that.” He said. He touched my face and ran his thumb over my lower lip. “In the meantime, we are almost late for dinner.”
“Oh.”
He got off the bed and headed to the door. Suddenly he paused and turned to face me. “Rina?”
“Yes?”
“Would you like to know a secret about me? Something I’ve never told anyone.”
“Yeah. Sure.” Why is he asking me this now?
Oh..I almost forgot. We’re dating now.
“Good. I’ll tell you one if you tell me one of yours too.”
Another alarm bell.
A secret of mine? To be honest I didn’t have any secrets. Well except what happened back home with Zayn and Iris. I led a simple life and didn’t have the time to gather secrets about myself.
And the secret about Zayn and Iris, I hadn’t told a soul not even the king knew. And natural I hadn’t told Caldan. Mostly because I wasn’t sure I could trust him.
But what am I so afraid of?
“Of course. I’ll think of f something to say and by bedtime I should have some.” I said and forced myself to smile. “Sounds like a fair deal to me.”
His eyes lit up and he grinned. “Perfect. Meet me outside when you’re done getting ready. I’ll be waiting.”
“Oh no it’s fine. I’ll come to dinner myself.”
“Rina. We’re together now. Okay?”
Ah.
“Sure.” I said. He turned and walked out.
A Secret about him? Come to think of it, I didn’t know much about him anyway. This would be a good opportunity.
I got dressed and we both headed down to the dining hall.
We arrived when the king was already seated and waiting for us. We both greeted him and I pointedly ignored his gaze on me. That dream I had flashed through my head and I bristled with anger. Caldan and I sat side by side.
The servants began to serve food.
“Caldan,” The king called.
“Yes, your majesty?”
