SABRINA’S POV:
Acheron completely ignored Caldan.
His grip on my arm didn’t let up as he dragged me to the door. He attempted to walk past Caldan but Caldan stood in his path. His eyes were livid with rage as he glared at Acheron. He grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Acheron.
“What the fuck is going on?!” Caldan snapped at Acheron. “Who are you? And why the fuck do you think you can come in here and do whatever you want?”
“Stay out of this, boy. You know nothing,” Acheron said coldly. His eyes darted to me and Caldan pulled me behind him. I grabbed his sleeve and stared at Acheron.
“If I know nothing, that’s exactly why I’m asking. Explain yourself.”
“Caldan…” I called, worry laced in tone.

My heart skipped out of my mouth. If Acheron opens his mouth and tells Caldan everything, I’m in deep trouble. Acheron however didn’t look like he was about to spill anytime soon. His dark eyes sparked with anger. “I don’t have to answer to you. I owe you no explanations. You better let go of her and stay out of this. This is not your concern.”
“Is that so?!” Caldan said, anger lacing his words. “You seem to not be aware of this, so I’ll explain it from you. of this pack. And I order you to shut the fuck up.”

Acheron laughed. He threw his head back and cackled like it was the funniest joke ever. My heart skipped and fell into my stomach. I knew that laugh. And it meant absolutely nothing good.
Once he was done, he looked at Caldan with what looked like pity in his eyes. “You’re a child, Caldan. Watch your tone.”
“How about you watch yours?”
Acheron scoffed. “Why? Because you have deluded yourself into thinking you’re a prince? I wouldn’t do that if I were you. Since you’re not even legit….”
“Be silent!” Caldan roared.
My eyes went wide. I knew Acheron had audacity, but to Caldar The king’s brother? That’s another level of audacity. He wasn’t even fazed at all, if anything he looked bored.
He’s not even registering Caldan as a threat.
My heart began to race madly. If Acheron uses his magic….I don’t think I’ll be safe from it, Caldan won’t be able to stop I just know it.
“Caldan… please…” I tugged on his sleeve, unsure of what I was pleading for.
“Get out of here. And that’s an order.”

Acheron laughed. That cruel laugh again. “What? She hasn’t told you all about me?” His eyes turned to me and narrowed. “I guess she does know how to keep her mouth shut after all”
I didn’t like how he worded that sentence. As if to imply there was something happening between us.
“There’s nothing to talk about!” I snapped at him and took a step closer. Caldan held me, his arms around my body protectively. “Whatever you think happened, didn’t happen. You’re only here to pick a fight.”
His expression was unamused. “Really? Sabrina? You’re going down that route?”
“What route?” I asked. Deep down I was looking for a way to end this fast. Acheron here was complete bad news.
I wondered if he would agree to us talking about this. Perhaps I convince him to leave and come back later. But then what proof do I have that he would actually do it?
It’s too risky. And I have no idea what he wants to do with me..
His eyes sized me up. He looked at Caldan’s arms around me and scoffed. “What’s your deal with her anyway?” He asked Caldan.
“She’s my woman.” Caldan replied. “Now you know why you won’t leave her with her.”
Acheron’s eyes went wide. “Your woman?”
“You heard me the first time.”
The wizard laughed. Mockingly. My cheeks burned bright red. Acheron knew. He knew I was in the kings bed.
“Is this true?” He turned to me and asked. “You’re his woman? Sabrina, you?”
My body went stiff with tension. “Yes. It’s the truth.”
He shook his head in disappointment. “I knew it. I can’t say I’m surprised at all.”
I swallowed a lump in my throat.
“You’ve always been a shameless whore. I knew that from the very beginning. How shameless of you.”
My face turned white as a sheet.
My goodness! He’s going to go there! He’s only saying this because he knew of I and the king.
I wished more than anything that in that moment, I would tell Acheron that I wasn’t a whore, that I hadn’t even had sex with Caldan.
But I wouldn’t dare open my mouth. It’s painfully clear what Acheron will do. He will talk. And all I’ve been avoiding will happen.
I see it in his eyes. Those cruel and expressionless eyes that watch my every move like a predator about to pounce.
“What’s the matter? Did I hit a little too close to home, Sabrina?” Acheron asked, his eyes narrowed. “Or….is this that you haven’t told him yet? Your so called man?”
“I… My words won’t come out. “Well I…”
“That’s enough,” Caldan said. He took my hand and laced his fingers with mine. He glanced at me and smiled softly.
But I couldn’t return his smile. I couldn’t even try.
