SABRINA’S POV:
Acheron isn’t joking around.
He really means to leave here with me!
I glanced at Caldan and fear filled my heart. He might be strong, yes. But against magic? Against acheron’s magic? I don’t even know how to feel about it right now.
“Move. And leave her behind.” Acheron said, each word punctuated with murderous intent.
“I dare you. Lay a hand on her head and see just what will happen. Do you have any idea what you’re about to do is a crime right now? I will have you beheaded for that.”
And of course, all Acheron did was laugh.
Because this was all a fucking joke to him. Because we both meant nothing.
My heart sank into my belly and I sighed. I wish…I wish I could do anything right now!
“Nothing will happen to me,” He said after he had calmed down. Behead me? Boy, don’t make me laugh. You’d be dead before you
had the chance to do it.”
This situation is only getting worse. Caldan is matching Acheron fire for fire. At this rate….this will all blow up in our fucking faces.
“Caldan” I called softly. He didn’t glance at me or make any acknowledgement that he heard me. I gently cupped his face. “Please. Look at me.“–
He looked down at me. “I’m not letting him touch you.”
“Please. Let me handle this, okay?”
“No way.” He replied. “This fucking bastard comes in here an thinks he can take you away from me? No way in hell.”
“Caldan please. Let me talk to him, I’ll be able to come up with something and…”
“Oh please, try ” Acheron purred. “Just like how you came up with something back then huh?”
He’s not fucking helping right now!
“See?!” Caldan snapped. “That’s the fucking problem! just fucker is so full of himself! Rina, you can’t talk to him. He’s fucking crazy.”
“Sabrina, move. I won’t listen to whatever you

I felt frustrated to the point of tears. “Acheron,” I turned to him. you don’t have to do this.”
“I do. Why don’t you tell your boyfriend why rather than trying to play peacemaker?”

move a finger. A scream ripped through my throat as my body began to rise in the air.
“Let her go!” Caldan yelled at Acheron.
“What is going on here?!” A sharp voice called out. From the corner of my vision, I spotted Lady Nifra, Rose trembling by her side. Relief flooded my body and I yelled out for her.
“My lady!” Rose gasped.
“Rose! Lady Nifra! Help me please!”
“Acheron!” Her eyes flashed white as she turned to him.
“You bastard!” Caldan yelled. He was also rooted to a spot with Acheron’s magic. I knew it would be a lost cause. I just knew it.
“Acheron!” Lady Nifra stepped in and stormed

“Stay out of this,” Acheron gripped at her. “This doesn’t concern you.”
“Oh, it doesn’t?! You being stupid and shallow headed doesn’t concern me?! What did I expect? Of course you’re still the fucking same.”
Immediately, the invisible bonds on my body loosened up. I fell to the ground, my eyes squeeze shut as I braced for impact.
“My lady!” A soft voice grunted. I opened my eyes to see Rose under me, her arms spread out wide. Her brows were twisted in pain, her eyes wet with tears.
“Rose!” I cried out and hugged her. “You shouldn’t have caught me!”
“I was so worried about you!”
“ACHERON!”
Aloud shot unlike anything I had ever heard before caused I and Rose to turn. Caldan, also free, charge at Acheron. Acheron merely floated in the air, out of his reach. From that position he glared down at Caldan like he was a house pest.
“Get down here you bastard!” Caldan shook his fist at him, anger all over his face.
“Caldan, that’s enough.” Lady Nifra said.
He turned to her. “You know this guy? Huh?”
“Yes. I do. Unfortunately. I’m sorry for his behavior, this won’t happen again.”
“Nifra, you don’t need to apologize for me.” Acheron said. “It won’t happen again? Lies. I will leave this place with Sabrina. And if any of you stand in my way, I will level you.”
“Like hell you would!” Lady Nifra snapped. “You better get out of here this instant unless you want a repeat of history.”
Acheron came down to the ground. He walked up to Nifra, anger replacing the arrogance in his eyes. “Say that again, Nifra.” He hissed through clenched teeth.
“You fucking heard me.
“Come here.” He snatched her hand and dragged her out of the room.
I watched them leave, an uncomfortable feeling settling in my belly. Before h had time to think about it, Caldan had rushed

“Are you hurt? Anywhere at all?” He asked, his hands and eyes inspecting my body.
“I’m fine.” I said with a soft sigh. I turned to Rose and smiled. “She helped me.“.
“My lord” Rose said and got to her feet.
“You can leave now.” Caldan said to her. She gave me a look of worry before she turned and walked out.
Once we were alone, Caldan held both sides of my face and looked into my eyes. “Who was that guy? Do you Why was he here to take you away?”

“I met him back at my old pack.” I said the first thing that just came to my mind. “And he was a drunk back then, I think he’s not fully alright in the head.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
He stepped back and ran his fingers through his hair. He began to pace the floors. “I hate him. He’s so disrespectful…looking down on me like I’m nothing.”
“Do you know him?”
“Yes.” He paused and turned to me. “Do you know him?”

“No..not that. He seems to know you more, like you two had an encounter.”
“It was a joke.” I said, my heart racing.

“Caldan, it was a joke. Men insult women that can’t have all the time, it’s nothing new.”
He walked up to me. “No one should ever make that kind of joke. Not even the king.”
I nodded. “Yes.”
“Matter of fact, I’m glad he’s fucking gone. And I sure ad hell wish he won’t ever return. You feel the same, don’t you?”
