As she began to look through the document, one of Johnny’s other secretaries knocked on
the door and came in, whispering in her ear, “Miss Miller, there are visitors downstairs.
They say their names are Logan and Julia Brown. Should we have them wait in your office?”
“No need.” Maggie interrupted, softly saying, “Send them away.”
“Understood.”
After the secretary left, Maggie apologized to Rex and then began reviewing the proposal he had given.
As she looked at the proposal, Maggie thought that although Rex had arrived later than others, he clearly had the confidence to do so. His proposal was detailed and almost
perfectly matched her requirements.
Maggie appeared very serious while reviewing the document, almost as if she truly
understood it.
She was pretending, and Rex couldn’t be bothered to expose it.
Anyway, he wasn’t in a hurry.
Half an hour later, Maggie put down the document and said, “Mr. Hardin’s proposal really aligns well with what our company needs. We’ll give it serious consideration.”
