Chapter 59
Seeing that Maggie and Johnny were seated in the middle of the row towards the front, Lauren had initially felt a bit unhappy, but now, seeing Julia sitting in front of her, she felt
instantly delighted.
Julia also noticed Maggie and Johnny.
As she followed Franklin, when she passed by Maggie, she pretended not to see her and
walked forward without glancing at her.
Maggie and Johnny naturally saw them.
However, Maggie didn’t care.
Neither did Johnny.
But people around them began whispering with envy, saying, “I heard Mr. Nolan is sitting
in the front row. Sitting in the front row means you’ll get a chance to speak to him. How
lucky!”
“Indeed, how lucky.”
Maggie and Johnny exchanged a glance.
Johnny leaned closer and whispered, “Don’t worry, even if she has the chance to talk to Mr.
Nolan, she’ll never catch his eye.”
He had already sized up Julia’s professional capabilities when they first met.
Maggie understood what Johnny meant, and she said, “What if she’s hiding her true
abilities?”
Johnny: “…”
Well, that was certainly a possibility.

He had considered it, but…
Could it really be the case?
As he was pondering this, the host stepped onto the stage to give a speech.
A while later, after a lengthy introduction, the host said, “Next, let’s welcome Mr. Nolan to
the stage for his speech!”
Nolan was famous worldwide, but in fact, he was still quite young, barely in his early
forties.
He was tall and slim, wearing frameless glasses. As the host finished speaking, there was
thunderous applause as he slowly walked onto the stage.
Standing at the center of the podium, he glanced at the audience with an indifferent expression, and the entire room fell silent.
He slowly began, “I would like to thank the organizers for their sincere invitation…”
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, he gave a simple summary and affirmation of the exhibition’s items and then answered questions from the audience.
Many people had questions, but time was limited. About half an hour later, Nolan stepped down from the stage.
With other parts of the conference still to come, Nolan walked toward the center of the front row, where the organizers had prepared a seat for him.
As he passed by, all the big shots sitting in the front row stood up to greet him with
handshakes, making those sitting in the back, especially some of the tech personnel, feel
envious.
One of the people next to Nolan was Franklin.
When Nolan approached, Franklin stood up.
Julia, who was sitting beside him, also stood up.

Franklin took the initiative to extend his hand to Nolan. “Mr. Nolan, it’s been a long time.”
Indeed, Franklin and Nolan had met before.
It had been many years ago.
Nolan extended his hand with a cold expression. “It’s been a long time.”
If they counted, it had been more than ten years.
Nolan’s coldness wasn’t directed at Franklin; that was just his usual demeanor with everyone, even his own students.
Julia also extended her hand. “Hello, Mr. Nolan, I’m Julia Brown. It’s a pleasure to meet
you.”
Nolan glanced at her, nodded, and after shaking her hand, he shook hands with several
others who were behind her. Then, he sat down.
Franklin sat on Nolan’s right side, and the person sitting to Nolan’s left side immediately
struck up a conversation with him.
Nolan responded with a few words, but it was mostly a one–sided conversation.
Franklin just sat there, listening to the speakers.
Julia wanted to talk to Nolan but was blocked by Franklin, who was sitting between them.
She was a bit surprised when she noticed that Franklin didn’t take the initiative to speak with Nolan. She leaned over and quietly asked, “Did you and Mr. Nolan have a falling out?”
Franklin smiled. “No.”
“Then why…?”
Seeing the rare opportunity to talk to Nolan, who wouldn’t want to take the chance to speak
with him?

But now Nolan was sitting right next to him, and yet…
Julia hadn’t asked Franklin to swap seats.
She’d thought about it, but since Nolan was engaging in conversation with a prominent business figure, she didn’t want to interrupt their conversation:
If she approached and disrupted it, it could potentially offend the person.
Realizing this, she decided against asking Franklin to switch seats.
“He doesn’t think highly of me.”
“What?”
