Franklin noticed the closeness between Maggie and Johnny, but he continued chatting casually with the others, seemingly indifferent to their interaction.

She resumed chatting with others, no longer paying attention to Maggie and the situation.
Not long after, the backup doctor from the restaurant arrived. After examining Maggie, the
doctor prescribed some ointment for her injury. Once the doctor left, Johnny began applying the medicine.
Maggie wanted to do it herself, but Johnny shot her a look, so she raised her hands in
surrender and let him take over.
After applying the ointment, Johnny waited a moment before a waiter returned with a pair
of flat shoes. Maggie tried them on and said, “It’s fine, I can walk.”
“That’s good,” Johnny replied.
However, her foot was still injured, and it would be inconvenient for her to visit the
exhibition hall. Johnny suggested she skip it for now. After all, he had already asked
someone to take photos of the exhibits for her. She could review the video online later.
Though a bit regrettable, there was nothing else to be done. Johnny informed the others
and then took Maggie home.
After they left, the others began to disperse as well.
After sending Maggie home, Johnny had to attend to some other matters, so he left shortly
after.
Maggie, exhausted from the day, was also ready to rest. She planned to chat with Johnny later about the “homework” their teacher had assigned.

She picked it up and saw an unfamiliar number.
After a brief hesitation, she answered, “Hello, may I ask who this is?”
“It’s Harry Becker.”
Maggie froze for a moment before sitting up on the bed. “Mr. Becker?”
Honestly, she had been so busy today that she had almost forgotten about the incident this morning. If Harry hadn’t called, she might not have remembered it.
“I’ve had someone take care of your car. You can come pick it up later.” Before Maggie
could speak, Harry continued, “If it’s inconvenient, I can have someone drive it back for
you.”
Maggie instinctively refused, “No need to trouble yourself. I’ll come pick it up.”
She turned down the offer without hesitation. There was a brief silence on the other end.
“Mr. Becker?”
“Alright, I’ll send you the contact information for the repair shop in a moment.”
“Thank you.”
Harry hung up without saying more.
Given her current injury, Maggie knew she couldn’t pick up the car herself. After a
moment’s thought, she decided to ask Johnny for help.
Johnny agreed to drive it back for her once he finished his tasks.
That evening, after ordering takeout, Maggie had just finished eating when she received a call from Isabella, asking when she would be home.
Maggie replied directly, “I sprained my foot and can’t walk well. I’m resting outside, so I

Isabella was immediately concerned, “What? Mom, your foot is injured? Is it serious? Does
it hurt?”
