So, for the next two or three days, Maggie and Johnny worked together, revising the
“homework” based on Nolan’s feedback.
By Monday, Maggie’s foot had almost fully healed. Although she wasn’t confident enough to
drive yet, she was able to return to the office and resume her regular work.
When she arrived at the company, Johnny informed her, “Franklin probably really intends
to collaborate with us.”
Franklin himself wasn’t there, but he had sent someone over last week to make initial
contact. Johnny hadn’t told Maggie about it, fearing it would distract her.
Someone from Franklin’s side would be coming over later that day. If the conversation went
well, they could finalize the preliminary collaboration plan.
The technical director sent by Franklin was from his personal technology company, not from the Wilson Group. This was their first time meeting.
When the director learned that Maggie was also involved in technology, he politely greeted her, “Hello, Miss Miller.”
“Hello,” Maggie replied.
The afternoon proceeded smoothly, and by lunchtime, Cole invited several people from Franklin’s company to dine together.
When they arrived at the restaurant and were just getting out of the car, they happened to run into Franklin and Julia, who were also getting out of their car.
Seeing them, Maggie paused in her steps.

Johnny rubbed his forehead, not expecting this coincidence.
However, Director Quinn’s eyes lit up when he saw them and called out, “President Wilson!”
Franklin and Julia turned around. Upon seeing Maggie and Johnny, they seemed a little
surprised.
After greeting Maggie and Johnny, Director Quinn walked over to Franklin and Julia.
Since Franklin had already noticed them, and they still had business to discuss, Maggiei and Johnny exchanged a glance and followed them.
It seemed that Director Quinn also knew Julia, and he greeted her warmly, “Miss Brown.”
“Hello,” Julia replied, her tone a little distant.
Director Quinn didn’t mind, since Julia was now the person most important to Franklin and

with President Gray and the others.”
Franklin nodded and shook his hand, saying, “Thank you for your hard work.”
Director Quinn replied, “It’s no trouble at all.”
Franklin’s gaze shifted to Maggie and Johnny, and he greeted Johnny, “President Gray.”
But when it came to Maggie, he didn’t say anything.
Johnny responded with a nod and suddenly suggested, “Since we’ve run into each other,
why don’t we have lunch together?”
However, Franklin declined, saying, “No, this is a private arrangement, not very convenient.
But next time, I’ll definitely invite President Gray to dinner.”

A private arrangement? Was this a date with Julia?
Was he trying to avoid being disturbed?
Johnny secretly sneered but smiled and said, “President Wilson is too polite.”
As for Julia, she did want to get to know Johnny better, but compared to him, she was naturally more interested in Franklin.
Franklin seemed to be very protective of their private time, and Julia was pleased with this. She didn’t want their personal time to be interrupted.
After hearing Franklin’s refusal, she didn’t insist and walked off with him, leaving the
others behind.
Once they were far enough away, Johnny asked, “Does Director Quinn know Miss Brown as
well?”
“I’ve met her a few times,” Director Quinn replied. “As you know, President Wilson is very attentive to Miss Brown and has brought her to the company several times.”
So that was the case.
Although Maggie had been married to Franklin for many years and was somewhat aware of the companies he had started, she had never visited any of them.
That was because Franklin didn’t allow her.
Yet, he never imposed such restrictions on Julia.
