Before Johnny could respond, Kim the general manager interjected with a smile,
“Miss Brown is being too modest. We all know you’re a top talent in the Al field. Even though your relationship with Franklin is close, we wouldn’t consider you to be using backdoor channels.
On the contrary, if Miss Brown joined our company, our work would surely proceed more smoothly. Why don’t you think about it again?”
Julia smiled faintly. “I’ll think about it later.”
In other words, if Julia wanted, she could join Wilson Tech anytime.
Franklin’s differential treatment towards Julia compared to Maggie was something Maggie no longer cared to enumerate.
Maggie picked up her water cup and took a sip. Just then, she noticed someone outside the glass door.
She slightly raised her head.

She paused.

Maggie turned back, only to find Julia smiling faintly in the direction of the door, clearly greeting Franklin.
Then, Julia said to Kim, “I’ll leave first.”
Kim and the other managers only then noticed that Franklin had arrived.

It was almost noon, and it was obvious that Franklin had come to pick Julia up for lunch.
Seeing that the managers were about to stand up to greet him, Franklin waved it off and said, “No need to be formal, continue with your work.”
The managers nodded respectfully.
Franklin then turned to Johnny and said, “There’s a lot to handle, so I couldn’t personally host you. I hope you understand.”
“Mr. Wilson, you’re too polite. I understand; you’re very busy,” Johnny said with a smile.
Franklin smiled briefly, glanced at Maggie, then said nothing more and left with Julia.
Franklin owning numerous companies was a well–known fact in the circle.
Johnny hadn’t expected that not only was Franklin at Wilson Tech today, but Julia was also
here…
He glanced at Maggie, silently patting her shoulder as if offering her comfort.
Maggie shook her head.
She was fine.
In fact, when they were heading to Wilson Tech, she had already mentally prepared for the
possibility of meeting Franklin. What she hadn’t expected was that Julia would be here as
well.
A few days ago, when Kim mentioned that Julia had been to Wilson Tech before, Maggie
thought that Julia had only visited occasionally.
She didn’t expect Julia to come to Franklin’s company as if it were her own home, coming and going as she pleased, and being so familiar with everyone at the company…

After Johnny signed, Kim the general manager personally took the document upstairs for
Franklin to sign.
Johnny paused, asking, “Mr. Wilson is still in the company?”
“Yes,” Kim the general manager replied. “He’s just really busy, handling another project.”
Johnny thought for a moment. Was it because he was too busy, or was it because Maggie
was here and he didn’t want to interact with her?
Maggie had the same thought.
Kim the general manager and Johnny were both in the tech field and had known each other
before.
Once the contract was signed, the atmosphere relaxed a bit. Kim lightly cleared his throat
and lowered his voice, saying,
“Julia is also here. It’s said that she has been with Franklin the whole day today. Their
relationship… it’s really quite deep.”
Maggie, who was sitting next to Johnny, naturally overheard this.
A while later, Kim returned with the signed document from Franklin.
Johnny had personal matters to attend to that evening, so he declined Kim’s invitation to
dinner.
Kim and the other managers were polite but didn’t insist. They escorted them downstairs,
where they happened to run into Franklin and Julia in the elevator.
Johnny paused. “This… what a coincidence?”
Franklin replied, “Quite a coincidence.”
Johnny said, “There are more of us. How about we let you guys go first, and we’ll wait for

the next elevator?”
“Alright, see you next time,” Franklin responded.
“See you next time,” Johnny echoed.
The elevator doors closed again, and Maggie and Johnny had no choice but to wait for the
next one.
A while later, they entered the elevator, and Maggie’s phone rang.
It was a call from Isabella.
After greeting the others, Maggie answered the call. “Hello?”
“Mom, are you done with work? When are you coming home?” Isabella’s voice was eager.
Since Maggie’s injury, Isabella had called her every day. After hearing that her injury had
healed, she had asked the previous night when she would be home.
Maggie, being busy these past few days, hadn’t promised to come home to accompany her,
But now, hearing the question, she said, “I just finished. I’ll be home soon.”
By the time she hung up, the elevator had already reached the ground floor.
Curious, the General Manager asked, “Miss Miller, you have children?”
Maggie nodded. “Yes.”
“Really? I couldn’t tell…” He thought Maggie and Johnny were a couple, given how well they got along and how attentive Johnny was toward her.
General Manager Kim was also surprised, considering how young Maggie looked; she didn’t
seem like someone who had already had children.
