Grandma Miller on the other end mentioned that her uncle had come back and had brought her some gifts. She asked if Maggie had time to come over for a meal.
Maggie glanced at Grandma Wilson and said, “I’m with Isabella at the old house.”
From what Grandma Wilson had said earlier, it seemed that she wanted them to join her at the manor to pick fruits.
The two grandmothers were good friends, and upon hearing the purpose of Grandma Miller’s call, Grandma Wilson said, “Then take Isabella and go ahead.”
She then turned to Franklin, “Frank, it’s been a long time since you visited Grandma Miller. Since you have some free time, why don’t you accompany Mag and go?”
Franklin, eating his breakfast, simply replied, “I have something to do later.”
Maggie listened, and there was no surprise on her face.
She had already guessed it.
Franklin never had time for her matters.
But when it came to Julia, he always found time, no matter how busy he was.

Maggie said this not because she didn’t want to force him, but because she no longer cared.
However, Grandma Wilson misunderstood and thought Maggie was being considerate of Franklin and didn’t want to put him in a difficult position.
Seeing how considerate and obedient Maggie still was toward Franklin, Grandma Wilson felt both heartbroken and helpless.
The decision was made.
After breakfast, Maggie spent some time chatting with Grandma Wilson, then prepared to
take Isabella to leave.
Grandma Wilson had prepared many gifts for Maggie to take to her friends.
Maggie couldn’t refuse, so she reluctantly accepted.
Franklin hadn’t left yet, and he, along with Grandma Wilson, went to see her and Isabella
off.
Isabella came over to hug Franklin’s leg, “Daddy, will you come home tonight?”

There was still no communication between Maggie and Franklin.
After Isabella got into the car, Maggie waved goodbye to Grandma Wilson and then drove
off.
In the rearview mirror, she saw Franklin and Grandma Wilson standing there, watching
her car drive away.
When they arrived at the Miller family’s house, Maggie parked the car in the small courtyard. Grandma Miller and her aunt, Helen, came out to greet them.
When Grandma Miller saw the trunk full of gifts, she frowned, “Why did you bring so many things?”

If they were unreasonable, the future days might be difficult.
Once inside the house, Helen served Maggie some specially prepared bird’s nest soup,

“I heard from your mom that you’ve been looking a bit haggard lately. I had someone save me some top quality bird’s nest. I’ll make sure to send some back for you to eat later.”
Maggie took the bowl, “Thank you, Aunt.”
Maggie’s uncle, Jason, was busy with work and didn’t return until dinner.
Thinking about how the last time, Johnny had been punished by Franklin for her sake, preventing Julia from joining Cole, which ultimately led to Jason losing a project, Maggie felt deeply guilty.

“Uncle, I’m sorry for what happened last time.”
“It’s fine, it’s all in the past,” Jason said casually, “I told you before, even without the Brown family, given the current situation of Miller Corporation, we couldn’t have taken on that project. You don’t need to blame yourself.”
This was something that Grandma Wilson could never find out. If she knew that Franklin had helped Julia bully their family, she would surely be furious.
Seeing Grandma Wilson approach, Jason nudged Maggie, signaling her to stop talking.
Maggie then changed the subject.
Next month would be Grandma Miller’s 70th birthday.
Maggie and Jason were discussing how to celebrate in a way Grandma Miller would enjoy.
Grandma Miller listened but showed no enthusiasm, saying, “Don’t bother with those
formalities. It would be good enough if we all just have a meal together.”
Aunt Helen spoke up, “Since it’s her 70th birthday, we should still do something big.”
Maggie and Jason agreed with this.
Since it was the children’s goodwill, Grandma Miller didn’t refuse any longer.
Tomorrow, Isabella still had school, so after dinner, Maggie drove Isabella back home.
Once they arrived at the villa, Isabella got out of the car, happily running toward the house.
Maggie stayed in the car, not moving, and called out to Isabella, “Take a shower and go to bed early. Mommy has some things to do, so I won’t be coming upstairs right now.”
Isabella’s smile faltered, “Huh?”
She turned back, frowning as she looked at Maggie, “Mom, you have things to do again?”
Maggie remained calm, “Mm, you focus on your studies. If you need anything, just call me.”

Isabella pouted, looking a little unhappy, but finally said, “Okay.”
When Franklin was busy with work, he often didn’t return home. Now, with Maggie also often staying out late, Isabella assumed it was because of work and never suspected anything else.
The butler came out to greet them as soon as they returned.
Isabella asked, “Is Daddy home?”
The butler smiled broadly, “Yes, he’s back.”
Maggie didn’t show any reaction but told Isabella, “I’ll leave now.”
